Review: The O-Wand

O-WandEver since I decided I’d had enough of Lelo’s unethical practises and closed the door on supporting them, I’ve been looking for alternatives to the handful of their products that I enjoy. I no longer want to recommend their stuff to you guys, but I don’t want you to scrimp on quality, power or aesthetics either, which is why it has taken me a while to find a suitable replacement for their Smart Wand Large.

When I was introduced to the idea of the O-Wand via Twitter, I was instantly intrigued. Its marketing suggested it was the “most powerful, safe and stylish personal massager on the market” – which meant that I just had to give it a try and see if it lived up to these claims. It’s not often that I agree with companies who say that their product is the best, but on this occasion, I have to applaud their statement. This wand is by far one of the greatest rechargeable massagers that I’ve used, making the Smart Wand look and feel unimpressive in comparison.

It’s packaged beautifully, giving the impression of luxury and elegance from first glance. It comes with a glossy instruction manual, an attachment (more on that later) and the required charging cable. They have even included some adapters for international use, so you don’t have to worry about picking those up separately, which is a nice touch. It charges via a three-pin plug and the attached jack is inserted into the self-healing silicone port on the underside of the toy. It takes roughly one and a half hours for a complete refresh, which can give up to three hours of use depending on the settings used. It’s just less than an hour and half of use on the top speed.

It is made from a gloriously luxurious silicone, which is platinum-grade and completely body-safe. It doesn’t contain any latex or phthalates, so is non-toxic and hypoallergenic too. It feels silky soft to the touch and has a very minimal amount of drag to it without the attachment. I like to use a small-amount of water-based lubricant if I’m using this on our intimate areas as this reduces any minor friction, but I found I needed to use a little more lube with the attachment. This wand seems to love lint, as many silicone products do, but thankfully it is fully waterproof so any fluff, cat hair or dust can be removed with a quick rinse. After it has been used, it can be rinsed again with soap to get it all clean, fresh and ready for next time.

It has a three-button interface, the power button simply turns the toy on and off when pressed and held for a few seconds, the top button controls the speeds and the middle button operates the patterns. There are eleven settings to explore on the O-Wand, four are constant vibrations with varying intensities and the remaining seven are patterns. There are three pulsation settings that are followed by four rhythm settings. I quite like the fast pulsation, but as expected, the other settings aren’t really for me. This is nothing to do with the toy, it’s just my personal preference. If patterns are exciting for you, then I think you’ll love the variety of the ones on offer.

Before I tried it out intimately, I compared the vibrations to those of the Smart Wand and was surprised with the results. This wand came out on top. The vibrations seemed to be stronger, deeper and rumblier than the Smart Wand’s offerings. I couldn’t wait to try it out. Once against the clitoris, I expected that I’d want to ramp up the vibrations to the high or maximum speed straight away and simply ignore the others, after all they always feel stronger in my hand, but surprisingly, I didn’t. I enjoyed the depth behind the lowest settings and definitely felt that I’d be able to orgasm using those if I was left alone with them for ten minutes. The highest settings can make me orgasm in just over a minute, which is pretty impressive and extremely satisfying.

O-WandIt’s not just for use against the clitoris though, it can be used pretty much anywhere. Outside of intimate pleasure, the O-Wand is fantastic for massage. It’s comfortable to hold due to the sturdy, ergonomic handle and it can really get into those tight knots beneath the skin. The vibrations really sooth out any tension and my partner really enjoys it when I incorporate a product like this in a sensual session. He also enjoys it for personal use and finds it highly stimulating when placed against his glans, shaft or nipples.

When we browsed the O-Wand website we noticed that there are attachments available outside of the included textured stimulator and the one that particularly caught our attention was The O-Gasm, a silicone stroker designed for the penis-owning people. He’s not usually a huge fan of strokers, but the promise of it being open-ended and made from silicone has intrigued him. We may purchase it at some point and come back and update this review with our thoughts.

In terms of noise, I have no complaints. The sound level is pretty much what I expected. It makes less when in contact with the body and/or water, but when it’s pulled away, the noise isn’t extreme. Wands are not typically the go-to toy for those who need discretion, but this is quieter than the mains-powered options and I think the noise aspect is a small price to pay for something that provides such powerful orgasms. I’m pretty sure I drown out all the noise that the toy makes with my own sounds anyway.

My final thoughts on the O-Wand: I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did and I wasn’t sure it would be all the things it promises to be, but it is. It’s a top product, with a sleek, luxurious appearance and the power to satisfy us stubborn power queens, I couldn’t recommend it more.

I received the lovely O-Wand (£199) directly from the source in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!

Review: Adrien Lastic Symphony

Adrien Lastic SymphonyI’m back with another review for Adrien Lastic and this time I chose a toy that I’ve been curious about for quite some time, called the Symphony. It’s a rechargeable, cordless wand vibrator with a very interesting twist, literally. Its unusual curvy handle is what attracted me to this product in the first place. I knew the power wouldn’t be comparable to my beloved Doxy, but I did wonder how it would hold up in comparison to something similar I have, namely the Lovehoney Mini Magic Wand.

The packaging of this product is quite simple and features the same theme as the other products I’ve already reviewed from this company. It has an outer white sleeve, with a product photo on the front and the key features on the back in multiple languages. Underneath the cardboard sleeve, a pink box with Adrien Lastic branding houses the Symphony, the charging cable, a multi-lingual instruction manual and a satin storage pouch.

It’s made from a combination of abs plastic and silicone. The handle is plastic and it has a glossy, glittery finish that I wasn’t aware of until I got close to it. It truly is beautiful and pictures don’t seem to do it justice. The head is made from silicone, which is velvety smooth and almost seamless. It doesn’t have much drag to it, but I would advise using some water-based lubricant if you’re planning on using this against the clitoris, as it will make things more comfortable. It is splash-proof, so it can be rinsed under water after use, but excessive water-use and submersion is not advised. I tend to just rinse the head and add a spray of toy cleaner, then wipe down the handle with an antibacterial wipe.

Adrien Lastic Symphony

It arrived without charge, so I placed it on for a full one before I got started. It’s a quick process, just insert the USB into a charging port & the jack into the DC port on the control panel. A steady red light will glow when charging and this turns off once it’s complete. It only takes around ninety minutes, which is pretty good, but this only gives forty minutes of play time, which is not as wonderful as I’d hoped. This also lessens if using consistently on the higher speeds, so for me, it only lasts around 25-30 minutes before I need to top it up.

Just like the other wand I mentioned earlier, the Symphony has a flexible neck. I find this one feels slightly sturdier than Lovehoney’s and I’m not worried about it snapping should I want or need to alter the positioning. It really allows you to individualize your experience with that toy and place it in a way that feels right for you. It also allows for great access during a massage, as you can reach into all those difficult areas that are hard to get to with your hands.

To begin the vibrations, press and hold the singular button for a few seconds. To cycle through the various settings, continue to tap. When you are finished, press and hold again for a few seconds. There are ten functions to choose from, three of which are speeds and the remaining seven are patterns. There are a nice variety of these settings, but as you probably know by now, I’m not fond of anything that isn’t a constant vibration, so they don’t do anything for me.

Adrien Lastic SymphonyThe constant speeds, however, are definitely my sort of thing. I wasn’t sure whether they’d be strong enough for my inner power queen, but once I hit that third speed, I was aware that I would be able to get something from them if I was patient. I usually opt for rumbly vibrations and the Symphony has the opposite type, but they aren’t numbing, desensitising or off-putting so I can totally work with them. I can’t get off with this vibrator within seconds like I can with the Doxy, but I can get off in under fifteen minutes, which is good enough for me.

Overall, I have to say that the Adrien Lastic Symphony is the slightly better wand in my opinion. It might cost a few pounds more, but it has the edge in terms of performance and aesthetics. It’s one of the quietest wands that I have, making it great for those who need discretion and the fact it’s so lightweight makes it ideal for those with grip issues or weak arms/wrists. It also feels slightly stronger than the Lovehoney wand in my opinion and has the bonus of being at least splash-proof. Its unique shape and glittery shaft make this toy the winner in terms of appearance and overall, I think this is my favourite of the two.

Review: Earthly Body Hemp Seed Massage Oil Gift Set (3 Pack)

Earthly Body Hemp Seed Massage Oil Gift SetAs I have mentioned before, my partner and I are currently in a long-distance relationship, which means that the time we do get to spend together is precious. We have found that our intimate time often includes massages, as they make us feel closer together and more connected, but this means we run out of oils quite often. When I saw this Earthly Body Gift Set I knew instantly that I had to get it as I absolutely adore this company and everything they stand for. Scroll down for the facts in this quick review or read on to find out more!

This set is presented in a small, brown, patterned box which sticks with their natural branding and it’s more than nice enough to be given as a gift without any further packaging. It even has a ‘to’ and ‘from’ tag on the side that you can fill names in on, so there’s no need for a gift tag, which is a nice touch. The back of the box just lists a couple of the key ingredients and a brief description for use. The individual bottles are just as tasteful in design as the outer packaging they arrived in, continuing with the same brown, natural theme. Each bottle also has the same brief description, but they feature a full list of ingredients rather than just a couple of them.

The only downsides to these bottles is that they all feature a screw cap and stopper, which both need to removed in order to dispense the oil, which puts you at risk of knocking bottles over and wasting product or accidentally pouring a larger amount than required.

When I used them for the first time, I overestimated how much I’d need, because the consistency is slicker and thicker than I had anticipated. Less is more when it comes to these oils, even when you’re planning on doing a full body massage. We have found that these oils glide easily on the skin, warm up quickly to body temperature and leave the skin feeling relaxed, refreshed and smooth. They have no stickiness or tackiness to them, which is a huge bonus for us as it means we don’t feel the urge to go for a shower the second the massage is finished.

In terms of scent, we like all three of these oils, despite them being very different to each other. My favourite is definitely Skinny Dip, as it has obvious vanilla tones, but there’s something slightly musky and earth-like underneath it that smells absolutely amazing. Naked In The Woods is the second best for me, as it smells as it sounds, which results in a truly relaxing scent that makes me feel at one with the world. The last scent is Guavalava, a sweet, fruity scent that doesn’t appeal to me as much as the others. My partner has a sweet tooth though, so this was naturally his favourite of the three.

Overall, these massage oils are fantastic for sensitive skin and haven’t caused any irritation for either of us, which can be a common problem with massage materials, but we did partake in a patch test beforehand, just to be sure. I love this set so much, but I do wish that the bottles had a dropper for easier application, as this would avoid waste and mess, but this is a minor niggle and something I’m happy to look past. I’m definitely going to be getting another one of these sets soon as well as stocking up on bigger bottles of the glorious Skinny Dip.

Review: Desirables Adori Stone Massagers

I recently received a review package from Desirables that included the Dalia, these lovely Adori massagers and a surprise sample of the Omeha Massage Oil, so a huge thank you to the lovely Isabelle (the founder of Desirables – read more about her here) for sending me these items to try! The discreet package arrived within a week of communications, which is super fast considering Desirables are based in Canada and I’m in the UK, so no complaints there!

If you don’t know who Desirables are yet, then let me tell you all about them. They are a fantastic company who make absolutely stunning, luxurious and high-end products. Everything they design is respectful, functional and aesthetically pleasing. Great care is clearly taken throughout the entire process of making each product, which results in high-quality and well-made items. The main focus of Desirables is intimacy as opposed to a quick orgasm, which is a nice change from the mass market that just want to make cheap, buzzy things to get people off. Whilst I don’t mind orgasms at all, I love intimacy and connecting with my partner and Desirables make it fun and easy to do so with their beautiful range.

It’s not just the products that are beautiful, as the packaging is classy, elegant and couple-friendly too. I love it, it’s really understated and simple, but at the same time it feels luxurious from the outset. I’d even go as far as to say they would make excellent gifts for your loved one without any further wrapping needed. The box is just plain white but it features a burgundy product label that has been securely placed around it. This then slides off or can be unstuck when it’s time to open the box. The label shows the product name with an illustration of the Adori on the back and includes an introduction to the product in both English and French. Inside the box, lays the three massage stones, a storage pouch, an authenticity card, a user manual and small pamphlet with basic information about holding each massager and cleaning methods.

Desirables are a company that have done their research regarding materials. They believe that the process of choosing a product in the bedroom should be filled with joy, excitement and anticipation rather than concerns over your health and the quality of the material, which is basically what bloggers have been promoting for years. I support any company who chooses to put body-safety first on their list of priorities. Desirables do not use any plastic other than medical grade silicone, but for the most part their products are made from porcelain, which is free from phthalates and other chemicals.

Porcelain is a hypoallergenic material which means it’s ideal for contact with the skin. It’s also non-toxic and retains heat, meaning the product will warm up to body temperature after a few minutes of use. It has a smooth and regular surface and can be rinsed under water which makes for a quick and easy cleaning. You can use soap or toy cleaner, as I’ve used both with no problems. It’s best to rinse before and after each use and store in the provided bag between uses to prevent lint, chips, breaks and other damage. If you’re after a deeper clean then you can submerge the Adori in a pot of water. Bring the pot to boil, boil for five minutes and turn off. Wait 30 minutes before removing them from the water and then dry with a cloth. Do not be tempted to place them in the dishwasher.

So before I get started on what each stone can do and how I found them in use, I must have a mum moment and tell you a few things regarding safety. Most important, is not to use these stones if they have slits, cracks or any other form of damage. Secondly, don’t use them internally. These stones are made for external use only, so shouldn’t be going inside your vagina/anus. Thirdly, don’t use them if the skin is flamed or swollen and don’t use them on the stomach if pregnant. Last but not least, avoid the hollow behind the knee, the highest part of the neck, head/eyes and directly on bones.

Desirables Adori Stone Massagers 5

As you can tell from the photos, there are three different sized massage stones included in this set and each does something different. They are each designed to target different muscles and apply different pressures. The ergonomic design of the Adori provides a comfortable massage in addition to reducing the pressure on joints and being easy to handle. It did take a few attempts to perfect holding them and using them, but it’s like riding a bike, you never forget once you know.

The small one is our personal favourite as it’s for deep muscle and pressure massages. This stone reaches all those hard to otherwise access locations and gets deep into the tissue, rectifying knots and areas of tension. To use this stone, you hold the flat part on the top of your palm and the handle rests between your thumb and index finger. To keep the Adori in place you simply apply pressure with your thumb. I’ve never felt something so relaxing as this stone, I mean sure I’ve had those cheap plastic hand massagers before, but nothing as luxurious and direct as this. It’s particularly great for my partner to use on the knots in my back, because his hands are far too large to reach those areas usually.

Desirables Adori Stone Massagers 6

The medium can be used on all muscles and is designed with light touches in mind. I find this stone really helps to relax the muscles and it’s said that this also stimulates blood circulation. We generally use this one to start a massage to relax the muscles and then decide which of the other two stones is desired for the rest of the session. To use this Adori, hold the unglazed surface (underneath) in the centre of your palm so the handle is again between your thumb and index finger.

The large massage stone is for the bigger muscles and gentle massage. This is the one we go for if we’re craving general relaxation after a long day of aches and pains. A session with this stone can really help to refresh the body and I’ve even managed to fall asleep whilst this was being used on me. It’s a fantastic stress reliever and the experience really brings my partner and I closer together, so mission of intimacy is well and truly achieved. This stone is held in the same way as the first with the flat part on top of the palm and the handle between thumb and index finger once again.

We generally use massage oil with these stones to help them glide naturally over the skin with little contact, but Desirables had a few other suggestions that we thought were worth checking out too. I was surprised that Talc was one of them but I’ll give most things a go once. It’s great for people like myself who have allergies or sensitive skin and actually provides a much better slip and glide than I thought it would. It’s messier than oil, but is certainly an interesting experience and once I’d recommend trying at least once. They also suggest trying creams and lotions as both as hydrating and slowly absorb into the skin. Cream tends to make the skin more slippery though, so get a good hold on your Adori before use if going with this option.

Overall, I really, truly love these massage stones and they’ve made a huge difference in our massage sessions. As a long distance couple, intimacy and bonding is extremely important on the occasions we do get to see each other and because of that massages are a huge part of our relationship. It’s great to give hands a break sometimes though and I think these stones are going to get a hell of a lot of use. We’ve had them for a couple of months now and they’ve been used on every occasion we’ve seen each other since, bar one short visit. I couldn’t rate them higher even if I wanted to.

I received the Adori Stone Massagers ($95.00 CAD/£56.95) from Desirables in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!

Review: Desirables Omeha Massage Oil

Desirables Omeha Massage OilI recently received a review package from Desirables, to find that the lovely Isabelle (who is the founder of Desirables – read more about her here) had included a sample size of their Omeha Massage Oil with the items I’d requested. I wasn’t expecting it and thought it was really sweet, so huge thank yous, Isabelle! My discreet package arrived within a week of communications, which was super fast considering they are based in Canada and I’m in the UK.

Desirables are a fantastic company, with absolutely stunning products. Everything they make is respectful, functional and aesthetically pleasing. Great care is clearly taken throughout the entire process of each product, making them extremely high-quality and well-made. Their main focus is intimacy rather than a quick orgasm, which is a nice change from the masses of strong vibrators and heavily textured dildos. I do love both of those things, but connecting with my partner is important too.

The sample version arrives in a small bottle with a screw lid and needs to be poured into the hand to dispense whilst the regular version is presented in a 120ml bottle with a pump/spray function. As soon as I removed the lid, I picked up on the immediate scent of Ylang-Ylang. I absolutely love the soft, floral notes of Ylang-Ylang and find it’s extremely effective in bringing about a sense of relaxation, which makes it the perfect ingredient to find in a massage oil. It’s a very calming fragrance and seems to help in releasing feelings of tension and irritability. It’s even said that it can increase sexual desire, although I can’t be sure of this. Ylang-Ylang is not the only scent that I could pick up on though, I also noted the subtle hint of Rosewood, which smells divine and is also said to be an aphrodisiac.

The scent is light and fresh, not overwhelming in the slightest. The scent may be noticeable, but it’s not strong or overbearing, it’s just enough to create the perfect atmosphere for your massage. The Omeha Massage Oil is made from luxurious sunflower oil and premium quality essential oils such as red mandarin, pink grapefruit and bergamot as well as the two mentioned above. It doesn’t contain any preservatives, parabens or glycerin, which makes it totally body-safe and suitable for sensitive skin. I did a patch test on my partner and I just to be sure, with neither of us having any reaction.

We really enjoy massages and they are a huge part of our relationship, especially as we’re currently long-distance, so giving each other a massage is an important way of connecting when we do see each other. I think this particular massage oil will be primarily used on me as it’s slightly floral in scent and my partner prefers deeper, muskier scents, but he still commented that it smelt nice when I handed him the bottle for the first time.

When it was applied to my skin for the first time, I noticed that the smell of the grapefruit became more obvious, making the massage oil smell even more fresh and clean than before. I immediately relaxed as my partner began to work the oil into my skin and started using the Desirables Adori Massage Stones to distribute the oil evenly, getting into all the key areas such as shoulders, elbows and the back of the knees. The oil glided smoothly, even without the use of the Adori and left my skin feeling soft and hydrated. It didn’t feel tacky, sticky or greasy in anyway, which is great as I hate massage oils that require a shower straight afterwards, as this defeats the point of relaxing in the first place.

Overall, I love the Omeha Massage Oil and I would definitely consider buying a big bottle once this one has ran out. It has a great consistency, scent and ingredients list, so there’s nothing obvious that I can think of that would improve this product.
