Review: Mantric Realistic Vibrator

Are you following me on Twitter? If so, you may have seen me tweeting about the launch offer of a certain new collection from Lovehoney a few weeks back. The collection I’m referring to is named Mantric and it currently consists of nine silicone sex toys including a love egg, wand vibrator and prostate massager. I thought the collection was very visually appealing from the start and I couldn’t resist getting my hands on a product to review here on the blog. The pieces are all up-to-date, sleek takes on classic and popular sex toy styles and I couldn’t wait to give their promised premium pleasure a test run. So, did the Mantric Realistic Vibrator deliver on its promises or did it fail to be the innovative upgrade it advertised? Read on to find out my verdict!

Mantric Realistic VibratorThe packaging for Mantric products is what some would describe as bland but that’s exactly what I like about it. A plain cardboard box with the Mantric logo on the front is all that’s really required and this basic exterior is kind to the environment and easily disposable, so how could I complain? It isn’t fancy like some other brands boxes but it houses a truly luxurious treat inside its simple walls. The vibrator and charging cable are stored in separate pouches to keep them safe and clean and there’s also a user guide included.

Non-toxic, odourless and phthalate and latex free are words that offer several possibilities to what this vibrator could be made from but this toy is soft which rules out everything but silicone. The only hypoallergenic, body-safe material on the market that isn’t rigid. Mantric’s silicone is silken and smooth. It’s high-quality stuff with little drag to its untextured surface. It should only be combined with water-based lubes to avoid damage to the material and aid penetration. Naturally it is completely waterproof so can be rinsed before and after each use and cleaned with soap or toy cleaner without problems.

Mantric Realistic VibratorIt’s rechargeable and doesn’t come with battery life so it needed a full freshen up before I could get stuck in. It takes around a hundred minutes and offers roughly the same amount of use time, which I liked. The charging cable has a USB plug on one side which should be placed into a suitable connector and a jack on the other end which goes into a port on the back of the vibrator. It takes a firm push to get it fully inserted on the first few charges as it has self-healing silicone and this tends to be a little tough at first.

Control wise, there is only one button which makes operating this toy stress-free. Press it once to turn on and it will send the Mantric Realistic Vibrator into standby mode. To start the vibrations press again. Keep pressing the button to cycle through the various modes. The eighth press will stop everything and return to standby mode. The ninth press will cycle back to mode one. To turn off, just press and hold down for a couple of seconds. To activate the travel lock press and hold for three seconds. The light should flash six times to indicate success and the motor should pulse twice. Repeat the process or plug in the charger to deactivate.

So there are three speeds and four modes to choose from. Each mode flashes a different colour which is a feature I rather liked. It makes finding my favourite settings easier, particularly in the dark of night and could also be fantastic for people who find visual cues easier to remember than numbered settings. The first three functions are low, medium and high constant speeds. Mode one uses red, mode two uses blue and mode three uses green. After that there is the four patterned settings. Mode four uses purple and offers up a simple pulsation, mode five uses cyan and gives a combo of pulses and waves, mode six uses yellow and has a wave function and mode seven uses violet with its combination of pulsation and constant vibration.

Mantric Realistic VibratorThis Realistic Vibrator from Mantric is seven inches in overall length with six inches of insertable shaft. Six inches is the perfect length for me as it generally won’t reach or irritate my sensitive cervix but will hit all the spots I want it to stimulate. The shaft has a maximum circumference (around the head) of four and a half inches which places it on the lower side of the girth scale. This keeps it manageable for beginners and those who prefer slimmer vibrators. It’s been designed with g-spots in mind but it could also be used for a prostate for those who prefer the realistic look.

One thing that I write about all the time when discussing g-spot stimulation is firmness. I need tough pressure in this area for full, satisfying stimulation that results in orgasms otherwise I’m left feeling frustrated and reaching for old favourites. This vibrator has enough firmness to pass my tests and requirements but has a small amount of flex in the lower shaft that I can adjust for comfortable positioning if I need to. I really like this as it accounts for practical precision and comfort rather than just one or the other. If you are someone who prefers soft silicone cores for internal play or simply don’t need as much rigidity as I do then this may not be the best choice.

I am not usually a huge fan of realistic dildos and vibrators but this one isn’t ultra realistic. It’s what I’d call semi-realistic because it has a lifelike head but there’s no veins or texture and it’s not made in flesh tones. This element of realism may appeal to those who want something that resembles a phallus in terms of shape and size but don’t care for something with the full aesthetics and features of a human cock. For me, it strikes that balance well and I’m rather fond of it. The curved head is in the perfect position for my body so it doesn’t uncomfortably catch on my pubic bone or miss the spot entirely.

Mantric Realistic Vibrator

Once comfortably inserted and positioned, I just have to tilt the toy upwards very slightly and it will find the spot almost instantly. It feels natural and effortless to maneuver this vibrator and each gentle twisting motion I make enables the head to massage and caress my g-spot beautifully. I did try thrusting with it but I didn’t get the best feelings from it as it’s not quite wide enough for me to thrust aimlessly. I have to be very accurate with each movement which makes masturbating boring and chore-like.

As usual, the constant settings were my most used. I don’t enjoy patterns. The settings on the Mantric Realistic Vibrator are pleasant and fall somewhere on the rumbly spectrum. I wasn’t sure what to expect having never tried this new brand before but the motor involved is better than I thought considering the affordable price point. They provide that deep level of sensation that my body craves and reach more nerve endings and sensitive spots than their buzzy counterparts. I don’t need as much depth for internal use but it’s always welcomed, especially if I can also use the vibrator clitorally. It was pretty easy to get off with this for clit stimulation so I’d love to see this brand eventually create a comfortably, rumbly pebble that could compete with my Mimi Soft.

Mantric Realistic VibratorOverall, I liked this powerful, quiet Realistic Vibrator so much that I decided to order a couple more pieces from the Mantric range. I chose the rabbit vibrator for myself as the shape reminds me of the L’amourose Denia, which is an all-time favourite, and I got my partner the Vibrating Head Masturbator to explore. I’m hoping both of those new additions to our toybox will be as enjoyable as this one was. I’m looking forward to seeing where the future can take the Mantric collection and I hope other people will love it as much as I do.

Review: Be Sassy Be Unique Dual Stimulation Vibrator

I don’t like ruling out an entire range of products based on a negative experience with one item so I asked Orion if they’d be willing to let me review another product from their own-brand Be Sassy collection. I had tried out the Be Charming Lay-On Vibrator from this range earlier in the year and found it less than impressive. It wasn’t my perfect match or even an enjoyable one night stand as it just wasn’t the right product for me. The vibrators motor was the main problem that I had with it although I don’t think it helped that my preferences and needs were different to what that toy could offer. I didn’t want to just assume that the rest of the range would be unsuitable and extract the same response from me so I accepted two more vibrators from the range with an open mind and willing vulva. This review is going to be for the Be Unique, a dual-stimulation vibrator with a shape I’d never tried before. Did it work for me or did it leave me feeling flustered in all the wrong ways? Read on to find out!

The packaging cannot be faulted. It’s simplistic and fairly plain with no tacky images in sight. The box shows an image of the Be Unique on the front and back and the back also offers a couple of informational snippets. The sides offer multilingual basic descriptions regarding the key features. The front of the box can be opened up via the magnetic clip to reveal the vibrator behind a viewing screen, which is a nice touch. Inside, I found the toy and a generic user guide. There’s no storage bag included.

Be Unique has been created from silicone, a completely body-safe material that is non-toxic, non-porous, odourless and phthalate free. It’s also clear from latex and is hypoallergenic, which means it can be properly cleaned between uses and won’t harbour bacteria. The silicone feels of a high standard and the vibrator itself appears to be well-made and put together. It doesn’t have any off-putting seams or rough edges around the rigid plastic control panel and it looks good overall. I think the material feels smooth to the touch and luxurious but it has the typical drag associated with silicone. A coating of water-based lubricant will remove this and make insertion and use comfortable.

Neither the manual, box or website specified whether this toy is waterproof but as the manual indicates that it should be cleaned with soap/toy cleaner and water, I assume that it is. I have not had any problems when rinsing it but I have been particularly cautious when rinsing and haven’t submerged it. I would not recommend using this in the bath or shower and I’d advise avoiding getting the base of the toy wet to stop water getting into the battery compartment.

It’s not rechargeable like most of the other products in this range and batteries do not come included. It takes two triple a’s and these are placed inside the above mentioned battery compartment. There’s a little switch on the base (underneath the word open) that needs to be flicked upwards to remove the cap. Once it’s been removed, add the batteries as the compartment directs and slide the cap back on firmly.

Be Sassy Be Unique Dual Stimulation VibratorThe Be Unique is operated via a simple, easy-to-operate two button interface. A power button and a spiral-like button. The power button does what the name implies. It just turns the toy on and off with a quick tap. The other button switches through the various settings of which there are seven. There are two constant vibration modes to choose from and five patterned modes. I would have liked three levels of speed instead of the fifth pattern but this is personal preference as patterns don’t do anything for me.

Beginners, gather around. This dual stimulator has a maximum girth of 4.3 inches which makes it slimline and suitable for those with little-to-no penetration experience and those who are new to sex toys. It’s also a great option for people who prefer slimline insertables. I like slim, medium and bordering on large insertables depending on my mood and sensitivity levels. This toy is great for occasions where I want internal stimulation from something petite. It has five and a half inches of useable length and an overall shaft of 7.8 inches which leaves a couple of inches to grip onto during use.

Dual stimulators are notorious for being the hardest vibrators to work with. This is because they are completely anatomy dependent. What works for one person, won’t necessarily work for the next. The Be Unique wasn’t the best fit for my body although it wasn’t the worst either. The short clitoral arm is what I typically look for as my clitoris and entrance are quite close together so I need don’t much length to reach the right spots. The external arm in this case does hover over the clitoris but because it tapers to a point rather than a rounded tip or separated ears it doesn’t cover the entire area or stay in position without some assistance. I need to hold it down for it to work with my body. This is not the worst thing in the world but I prefer to use rabbits that remain steady over that area so I can focus on the shaft.

Be Sassy Be Unique Dual Stimulation VibratorThe two ridged bumps on the top section of the shaft reminded me of the Tantus Charmer, which is one of my favourite textured dildos, and I had high hopes for it. The head of the Be Unique is firmer than the Charmer which means that stable pressure against the g-spot is possible and welcomed.

I need some firmness against this area to be stimulated to the point of orgasm and to my surprise, this toy has what it takes. I can orgasm from the g-spot stimulation it gives me thanks to those beautiful bumps. If it had an extra inch in girth then it would have been absolutely perfect for me as the slim shaft doesn’t provide much stimulation to the vaginal walls, which is something that I really enjoy.

The Be Unique has two motors, one in each arm. Both of these motors are buzzy but I don’t think they’re as high-pitched/high-frequency as the singular motor used inside the Be Charming. It can become numbing if used for longer than ten minutes or so but it isn’t the worst buzzing that I’ve come across and it definitely does not frustrate me as much as the last experience did. Both motors have an adequate amount of power to them although I could have done with some additional strength in the external arm.

Be Sassy Be Unique Dual Stimulation Vibrator

Overall, I definitely prefer the Be Unique to the Be Charming which was unexpected as dual stimulators tend to be my toughest testing tasks. The internal arm on this has a great shape and size for beginners but the external arm is not going to work for everyone due to it’s uniquely pointed tip. It didn’t particularly work for my body so it has to be my biggest criticism of this product. I do still think that the motors could be improved (with less buzzing) but this is a definite improvement on round one and I’m curious to see what the future holds.

Review: Satisfyer Pro Deluxe Next Generation

From the very first moment of my encounter with my first suction stimulator I knew I was onto something new and exciting. It’s something I’d never experienced before but I fell in love with it instantly. I think I even love it as much as my favourite bullet vibrator now. I have a multitude of these toys at this point so there are naturally some that I like more than others. Out of the five original Satisfyers there was one that I didn’t particularly like and one that I felt indifferent about. The Pro Deluxe was the latter. When Satisfyer announced that they’d be releasing next generation editions of each model I asked them if they’d be willing to send me the updated version to review. I wanted to see if there were any changes that would redeem the Deluxe and make me fall in love with it. After a thorough testing I still can’t say that this model is a favourite of mine although I do think I got on with it better this time around and I can see it working for some people.

Satisfyer Pro Deluxe Next GenerationThe packaging for the Deluxe was as expected, minimalistic and classic. It hasn’t changed from the original models at all. It still shows a product shot on the front and back along with a few key features printed on the sides. Inside the box, the toy rested inside some plastic casing alongside the charging cable and glossy user manual. It does not come with any storage which is a minor downside. I’m holding out hope that they’ll include a small pouch with future products.

It’s made up of a smooth plastic surface and a high-grade silicone head. Both of these materials are free from phthalates and latex and are completely body-safe. You have no need to worry about bad odours or bacteria trapping itself in the pores. It can be used with any water-based lubricants and I recommend applying some to the rim of the nozzle and some to the clitoral area. Don’t use too much or it will be hard to keep in position but some will make use more comfortable. It’s fully waterproof so cleaning is no chore. It can be rinsed with warm soapy water after each use and simply left to dry. You can also remove the nozzle for a more thorough clean and the heads can be sanitized properly with a 10% bleach solution.

Satisfyer Pro Deluxe Next GenerationThe Pro Deluxe Next Generation is rechargeable via a USB and magnetic clip system. Just attach the clips to the magnetic prongs on the base of the device and wait for the flashing light to start. It goes steady when the charge is finished. It takes around ninety minutes or so for a full charge and offers the same amount of use time on the lower intensities. I can get several uses from each charge and it holds battery life well between those uses.

A key difference between the Pro Deluxe and the Pro Deluxe Next Generation is the control panel. It now has two clear buttons that function as I wanted them to on the original model. You press the four wave button down for a couple of seconds to turn on. This should start on the lowest intensity. You can then tap this button up to eleven times to scroll through the rest of the options or press and hold it down for a few seconds to turn off. The two wave button will take you back down through the intensities allowing you to go back a setting if you accidentally turn it up too high. I’m really glad they implemented this control panel this time around as it’s much easier to use and removes some of my previous irritations with the product.

Satisfyer Pro Deluxe Next GenerationSo, who is best suited to a product like the Pro Deluxe? Someone who likes direct clitoral contact. If you know that precise pressure in this area is overwhelming, numbing or uncomfortable for you then this style of toy won’t be suited to you. It will not work for everyone. I personally prefer pinpoint and direct stimulation so these models work well for my preferences and needs. The Pro Deluxe works by parting the labia to reveal the clitoris and placing it over the area at whatever angle feels best.

What were my previous issues with the Pro Deluxe? I had three main problems with it. The first was the control panel which has since been addressed. The second issue was more of a personal preference rather than a fault of the product itself. The shape. I just prefer long-handled suction vibrators as they seem to be easier to hold and I can vary the way that I position the toy to keep things interesting or vary the amount of pressure I’m using. For those reasons, the Satisfyer 2 and Pro 2 are more comfortable for me to use and give me the variation I’m looking for. If mobility or reach issues are something that you struggle with, the longer handled models will probably be better for you too.

Satisfyer Pro Deluxe Next GenerationThe third issue was the biggest hinderance. If you look back at the previous models (minus the Penguin) then you’ll notice that they each have heads that are made from a thick oval of silicone. The Pro Deluxe has a dramatically thinner nozzle which doesn’t provide the same amount of comfort and suction as the others do. It feels less intense to me and it’s somewhat of a battle to find a placement over my clitoris that allows me to feel enough of the sensations.

I could put this down to my anatomy as I have a small clitoris and innie labia which doesn’t seem to fit with the design of this flatter nozzle. If you have fleshier labia than I do and/or a large clitoris then this may be more inclined to work for you. I looked at this as a downside last time but having tested this again I have half changed my mind on this. I think it’s wonderful to see different vulva types being accommodated for and hopefully this means that there will now be a suitable Satisfyer model for everyone who likes direct suction stimulation.

Satisfyer Pro Deluxe Next Generation

So whilst this might not be the perfect model for me, I can’t fault the level of intensities that it has. It doesn’t force orgasms from my body like some of the others do but this is due to the nozzle shape not being right for my anatomy rather than a fault of the product. I can orgasm with this although it takes several minutes more than my beloved Pro 2 Next Generation or Pro Penguin Next Generation. I admittedly won’t use this as often as other models as I like quick, reliable orgasms from my toys but it could be fun to use during sex.

As I said in my review of the original Pro Deluxe, none of the Satisfyer models are completely quiet. The mechanisms involved simply won’t allow total silence. Having said that, this version makes slightly less noise than the original when used on high. If discretion is a must have for you, then you could easily drown out the sound of the motor by covering up with a duvet or playing some sort of background noise.

You can purchase the Satisfyer Pro Deluxe Next Generation (£38.40) from Amazon. I will update with more links when retailers update their stock to include this new model.
