Review: Partner Whale Couples Vibrator

The term “couples vibrator” is one that sparks a great deal of debate on social media, blogs and forums. This is because these types of sex toys tend to be inclusive to one particular type of couple (a straight, male/female partnership) and don’t vouch for other couplings. I’m not majorly fond of the term myself but for the purpose of this review I shall be using it as this toy has clearly been designed with a couple in mind. I bet you guessed that based on the name Partner though. I do think this was intended to be used by a straight pairing but I believe that anyone in a partnership consisting of a vulva, clitoris and something penetrative (be that a finger, a penis or a dildo) could potentially make it work.

I haven’t tried many couples vibrators over the past couple of years that I’ve been reviewing, but the handful I have tried have all been at the higher end of the pricing scale. I was intrigued by the Partner range for that very reason as all of their current models come in at entry-level to mid-range price tags. I understand that not everybody wants to, or can afford to, splash out over $100 on a We-Vibe Sync or Classic, so I had high hopes that one of these models would be good enough for me to recommend as a more affordable alternative. I have tried all three of the existing models now so it’s time to answer the big question. Which one is the best? The Partner? The Partner Plus? Or the uber cute Partner Whale?

Arriving in a white and blue cardboard box with a glossy product shot on the front and back, I was pleased with the presentation. The images were tasteful and gave off a welcoming, non-intimidating vibe that would be ideal for those who may be new to the sex toy scene or introducing a toy within their partnership for the first time. The box lists some key features on the sides such as the number of functions, materials used and the fact that it’s waterproof. Inside, I found the Partner Whale, the charging cable and a user manual. There’s no storage included.

Partner Whale Couples Vibrator

Made from a combination of velvety soft, smooth silicone and a touch of abs plastic, there’s no concerns about the safety of this toy. It’s non-toxic, latex and phthalate free, odourless and hypoallergenic.   I expected the Partner Whale to have some drag to its silicone body because of the ridged texture on the internal arm but there wasn’t much at all. It has some, as silicone always does, but nothing that a quick coating of water based lubricant couldn’t remove. I lube up both the internal arm and the area of the external arm that makes contact with the clitoris for comfort. After use, I give it a thorough rinse with warm soapy water and leave it to dry.

It is a rechargeable vibe with a USB connector on one side and a magnetic cap at the other which attaches to the corresponding prongs on the toy. The control panel flashes whilst the Whale is charging and the light goes solid once complete. The manual states that each charge should take around two hours, which I’ve found to be accurate, and this should provide up to sixty-five minutes of use. We’ve found the use time a little less but we tend to use it on the high power speed consistently.

There’s only one button on this vibrator and that is located on the external arm. Press it once firmly for a few seconds, wait for the control panel to light up and the vibrations will begin. Tap to cycle through the ten available functions and press and hold down for a few seconds to turn off. One button means it’s easy to understand but it also means you have to scroll through all of the settings if you miss the one you were looking for. I’d have loved a central power button with up and down arrows to change settings more conveniently. I hope this will be the case with future Partner vibrators.

The Whale has the same irritating order of patterns as the other two models that I tried. The manual states that pressing and holding the button down for two seconds will start the vibrations at the lowest massage level but from my experience with the Partner range so far, this isn’t true. All of them have started on high intensity before going down to medium, low and then the seven patterns. This is deeply confusing to me as the majority of people seem to like to start at the bottom and work up to full strength, not start on full and crawl back down.

I personally whack my vibrators up to full power straight away on most occasions so this wasn’t majorly problematic for me but I can see why it would annoy other people who prefer the opposite. I like a ton of strength with rumbly vibrations but this combination seems to be hard to find in these types of couples vibrators. Partner’s Whale doesn’t have any depth to its vibrations whatsoever. All of the sensations are surface level and buzzy. They couldn’t reach most of my external nerve endings. They do have a reasonable of strength to them and the buzzing is tolerable but it takes a while for me to get off from them.

The Whale has a very similar shape to the Partner Plus but the dimensions are different. The external arm is 3.5 inches around at its widest point which covers the entire clitoral area. The internal arm has 2.3 inches of usable length and a maximum girth of 2.5 inches. This is not very wide at all so I expected my above average partner to have no problems inserting him underneath it. My partner has a larger girth that provides a full feeling at the best of the times so I did feel rather like I had reached full capacity with both of them inside. If it had been much wider then I think I would have struggled to accommodate them both but it was manageable with warm-up and splashings of lube.

I can’t say that our encounters with the Whale have been the most comfortable sexual experiences for my partner. He felt that thrusting was difficult with this toy as the external arm kept sliding out of position each time he pulled back, poking his schlong. I think external stimulation is the most important part of a couples vibrator so the fact that the pressure kept disconnecting as the external arm moved back ruined the experience for me. This was not an issue with the Partner or Partner Plus so I can’t put my finger on a reason why this occurred with the Whale. I would have thought that the subtle texture made for better grip than the silky soft silicone that the others have but apparently not.

One thing I loved about the Whale was the internal arm. I wasn’t fond of the squishy, flexible arm that the previous models had and Partner have improved on that massively with this version. It has a firmer shaft that gives me adequate pressure and the added bonus of ridged texture on its inside. These ridges aren’t defined enough to bring me to climax on their own but I always appreciate some love and attention against my front wall. I felt the shaft was just about long enough to hint, grind and push against my g-spot in sync with my partners movements but it may not fit everybody’s anatomy in the same way.

Overall, I think the Whale has adorable aesthetics, a fitting colour scheme, better firmness than the previous two models and fun texture to add some extra flavour. It has all of the benefits of the others such as body-safe materials and being rechargeable, quiet and waterproof. It unfortunately also has the downside I’ve commented on previously – buzzy vibrations. For the next model I would love to see a change in motor. Low frequency, rumbly vibrations would be fantastic. I’d also love to see a three button control panel for ease of changing the settings. If those two things were combined with the shape of the Partner Plus, the dimensions of the Partner and the aesthetics and texture of the Whale then I think I’d have found my perfect match.

Review: Javida Nubby Vibe with Clit Stimulator

Have you ever seen a dual stimulator with nubs on each arm before? Because I hadn’t. When I spotted the Javida Nubby Vibe with Clit Stimulator on Orion’s website I was rather curious. I wasn’t sure what to make of this vibrator initially but I just knew that I had to try it for myself and find out what those nubs felt like. I was itching to know. I had tried one other Javida product before, their heated massager, so I knew that I had a good quality product on the way but I didn’t know whether the nubs would be fun and stimulating or uncomfortable and boner killing material. Read on to find out whether the nubby was a painful experience or a pleasurable one.

Javida Nubby Vibe with Clit StimulatorThe packaging was similar to what I encountered before, it just had a different colour scheme. There’s a black and red box that is decorated with floral graphics and features key product information in the back and sides. The front of this box has a magnetic flap that can be opened up to reveal the vibrator behind a window of plastic which is a lovely touch. Inside, I found the vibrator, generic instruction leaflet and the required charging cable. My only complaint is the lack of storage bag as I think that’s a must-have extra once the price tag reaches £50+.

Javida’s Nubby Vibe is made from hypoallergenic, non-toxic, body-safe silicone and the handle is made from a robust abs plastic that has been coated with polyurethane. This just makes the handle softer and more comfortable to hold. This toy does not contain latex or phthalates and seems to be well-made and nicely designed. I was once again impressed with the feel of the silicone as the incredibly smooth surface feels delightful to the touch and has the smallest amount of drag possible. It should be used with lubricant for comfort regardless of the amount of drag it has or hasn’t got and this should be water based as to not degrade the silicone. Neither the box nor the website description mentions whether this product is waterproof so I haven’t risked it and have been cleaning it with antibacterial toy wipes instead of soapy water.

Javida Nubby Vibe with Clit StimulatorSo this vibrator is rechargeable via USB. I placed that end of the cable into my laptop and attached the magnetic clips on the other end to the corresponding prongs on the rear of the Nubby. Whilst it is charging a red light will flash on the control panel and this becomes steady once complete. It takes roughly an hour and a half to charge the device fully and this is said to provide around forty minutes of use on the highest intensity and around sixty minutes on the medium to low functions.

There’s only one button on this toy so it’s really simple to use. The button is located just under the clitoral arm and needs to be pressed and held for three to five seconds to turn the vibrations on. A light will turn on once the toy is in use. Tap the button again to cycle through the various settings and press and hold it down for a few seconds to turn off. There are ten functions to choose from. Three constant speeds of varying intensities and seven patterns.

Javida Nubby Vibe with Clit StimulatorI think this is one of the smallest dual stimulators or “rabbits” that I have in my collection at the moment. It is 7.2 inches in overall length with an insertable shaft of around 3.9 inches. This is pretty short for an internal arm as most are around the four and half to five and a half-inch mark.

Having said that, I think that this makes the Nubby a very viable option for a beginner. I generally don’t recommend this type of toy to someone who’s just starting out as I think you need to know your body and anatomy well to find the ones that work for you, but if you’re a beginner with a similar layout to my body, then I’d point you this way. It has a maximum girth of just under 3.9 inches which is pretty slim and manageable.

Dual stimulators are completely anatomy dependent so I wasn’t shocked at all when the fit of this one wasn’t the best that I’ve encountered. I know that shorter external arms are generally a good bet for me as my clitoris and entrance are quiet close together and I don’t need much  length to reach it. It rests at just about at the right spot although an extra inch or two of length would have made the arm line up perfectly. It sits covering half of this sweet spot as it is which means I can’t get maximum sensation from the vibrations or texture. This leaves me with the feeling that I need more and I can’t shake it off. As a result, the Nubby feels underwhelming and half-hearted.

Javida Nubby Vibe with Clit StimulatorIt is disappointing that this is the case as I cannot fault the internal arm. It has everything I could want. A bulbous head, angled shaft and enough firmness to satisfy the inner diva of my g-spot. The nubby texture provides some extra stimulation and feels wonderful when using it in a circular motion to massage the g-spot.

The first setting was rumbly which is my preference and I could find myself getting along with this one. Unfortunately it didn’t have the amount of power I needed on the lowest intensity so I turned it up and then a swarm of buzzy, higher frequency vibrations erupted.

I don’t think these settings feel terrible, but I’m not fond of the buzzing as I find it distracting. I ended up using the rabbit without the vibrations with the internal arm working on my g-spot and a strategically placed We-Vibe Tango working on my clitoris. I could orgasm like this just fine. I tried again a few days later with the vibrations on and found myself being more tolerable of the internal vibrations on that occasion. So I now feel like I will be able to use this occasionally as intended but only on days that I’m not feeling over sensitive and have already penetrated with something else beforehand. I couldn’t just jump in with this if I hadn’t used an internal toy for a week or so as my g-spot would be too alert to cope with the buzzing.

As the Javida Nubby Vibe has two motors, I was expecting it to be noisy. It wasn’t. Even if I used the highest intensity, the sound could be easily drowned out with a duvet and a closed bedroom door. I wouldn’t and don’t mind using this when others are present in the house so for that reason I’d be happy to point people who need discretion in the direction of this nubby little number.

You can purchase the Javida Nubby Vibe with Clit Stimulator (€54.95/£50.65) from Orion. I received this product free of charge in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!

Review: Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation

It’s no secret that I loved the original Satisfyer Pro 2. I raved about it on my blog, Twitter and the Lovehoney forum for months after I received it. It is still one of my all-time favourite toys and part of my regular rotation, but I think it might finally be time to demote it. Satisfyer contacted me recently and asked if I’d be interested in reviewing the Pro 2 Next Generation and obviously I could not refuse this offer. I was really pleased to see that this brand had taken reviewers feedback on board and gone back and improved their devices in order to create the best products possible. I have tons of respect for that, as that’s exactly what we as reviewers want to achieve in this industry. We want to encourage companies to do their best, so we can offer our readers the best in return. So, did Satisfyer ruin a good thing by upgrading the Pro 2 or did they manage to make a good toy even better? Keep reading to find out!

The packaging is pretty standard for the Satisfyer range, just a white cardboard box with a glossy product shot on the front and back and basic product information on the sides. Inside this, there’s some plastic casing that stores the device and charging cable. A user manual is tucked away underneath. As I’ve mentioned in my previous Satisfyer (and Partner) reviews, this company does not include storage bags so be sure to get something suitable on hand if purchasing one of their products.

Upon setting sights on the Pro 2 Next Generation for the first time, I noticed a couple of obvious aesthetic changes. The first, and most noticeable difference, was the colour. My original Pro 2 is a bright rose gold shade whereas this new version is more of a light bronze. The second thing I noted was the change in texture. The original has a glossy finish which makes it difficult to hold at times, especially if lubricant is in the picture, but the new version has a matte texture that removes this potential problem. The third change I picked up on was a subtle thing that’s been added; the Satisfyer logo embossed onto the front of the shaft. I like this as it looks like more of a finished product now.

It is still made from a combination of abs plastic and high-grade silicone. The body is all plastic but the head and buttons are premium silicone. The head feels a little softer and smoother than the previous models did, but I would still recommend using lubricant for comfort. As the head is made from silicone, the type of lubricant needed is water based as other types may cause damage to the material. It has the same visible seams as the original, which isn’t majorly attractive but once the toy is in use I honestly couldn’t care less what it looks like. It’s also still completely waterproof, making it a breeze to clean. I remove the head and clean with a 10% bleach solution but the rest of the toy is just rinsed with warm soapy water. It’s then left to dry naturally for as long as needed.

Magnetic charging systems usually frustrate me to no end, but Satisfyer have nailed a sturdy, secure system that doesn’t disconnect easily. I swear We-Vibe’s disconnect just by looking at them, so maybe they need to switch to these cables instead. The manual states that the initial charge could take up to eight hours but I found mine ready to go after half that time. It now takes only 150 minutes, which is not bad at all, and this gives ninety minutes of use. An improvement on the original which offers only a third of that.

There are now three buttons on the control panel. Hallelujah! I am beyond happy about this as the two button interface was one of my only criticisms regarding the original. Use is so much easier now and I love the fact I can go back an intensity if I should need to without having to cycle through all the settings again. There’s a round button which is the power hub, press once to turn on and hold for a few seconds to turn off. The longer oval button is the intensity changer and you just press the + and – buttons in accordance with your preferences.

As I’ve had some experience with these pressure wave stimulators now, I know exactly where I need to place the head in order to get the most accurate, direct and comfortable sensations. So, that’s what I did. I lay back, lubed up and turned the toy on. I felt an immediate difference between the low settings on this model and the low settings on the original. Both are very subtle, tickle-like sensations but the new version feels more refined and precise. I don’t know whether this is due to the new nozzle shape, which is longer and wider than the original or whether the motor has been tweaked slightly, but it feels noticeably better to me.

It feels more refined throughout the entire range of intensities actually and I’d say these sensations offer more depth to them than I could have received with the original. They penetrate below the surface with all their might and reach a whole bunch of sensitive nerve endings that can’t be hit with any other sort of sex toy. I haven’t used my original model much since this one arrived as I feel this one is more polished and finished, giving better results. I still love the Pro 2, but the Next Generation model feels a bit stronger and as a suction slut/power queen, that’s exactly what I’m looking for.

This type of stimulation can take some getting used to, so I’d recommend trying one of the entry models first to see whether it works for you or not, but this is the one to go for if you want the best of the current Satisfyer models and know pinpoint stimulation is right for you. It offers very direct clitoral contact and as it is designed to stay in place from start to finish, this is not a toy that will work for those who need broad stimulation or are very sensitive clitorally. I love precise contact, so this is a joy for me to use, especially on intensities seven and above. I can orgasm in less than three minutes 99% of the times I use this. I love a toy that is reliable and consistent, so I’m struggling to fault this at the moment.

Outside of the suction/vibration thing the Pro 2 Next Generation has going on, it also offers a cooling breeze to the clitoris. Have you ever tried an orgasm gel or balm that’s designed to increase sensitivity and heighten sensations? Well, it feels like that and makes my clitoris tingle a little. This is part of the reason I believe my orgasms are achieved easily with this toy as I become so heightened by the combination of everything that’s going on that my body just can’t hold the pleasure waves in any longer.

Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation

Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation

So, how do I rate this in comparison to the original? I would personally say that it is better and the improvements were all welcomed. It looks better aesthetically, is easier to hold/use due to the matte texture and new control panel and the new nozzle makes the stimulation feel more refined. It’s marketed as being quieter too and I’d have to agree with Satisfyer on that. It is quieter. It’s never going to be a silent toy as the mechanisms that go into the motor make some noise when in action, but some of the noise levels decrease upon skin to nozzle contact and a closed-door drowns out the rest. The only thing that I’d love to see from them now is the inclusion of a storage pouch with each device. I’m not sure they could do anything else to make me fall deeper in love with the Pro 2.

Review: Partner Plus Couples Vibrator

Couples vibrators are generally created with a straight partnership in mind, which is why I think theirs term sparks a lot of debate on social media, forums and blogs as it’s only inclusive to one particular type of couple. I’m not overly keen on the term myself but for the purpose of this review I will be using it as its true that this vibrator been designed with two users in mind. Hence the name Partner. I don’t believe it’s strictly limited to straight couples though as anyone who has a vulva, clitoris and a partner who can penetrate them (be that with a finger, a toy or a penis) could make the Partner Plus work.

I haven’t tried many couple vibrators at this point in my reviewing career, but I’ve come across a handful that are mostly at the mid to high-end of the pricing scale. For that reason the Partner range intrigued me as all of their current models come in at entry-level to mid-range price tags. I know that not everybody can afford to, nor might they want to, fork out over £100 on a We-Vibe Sync or Lelo Tiani 3 so I had hoped that at least one of the Partner toys would be a good affordable alternative that I could recommend. This range of couple vibrators are designed by the same folks who own Satisfyer so I was curious to see whether the brands success would carry over into their latest venture. Read on to find out whether their Partner Plus was a hit or a miss…

Arriving in a white and purple cardboard box with a glossy product shot on the front and back, I was pleased with presentation. The images were tasteful and I think they give the product a welcoming, non-intimidating vibe to those who may be new to the sex toy scene or introducing a toy within their pairing for the first time. The box lists some key features on the sides such as the number of functions, which materials have been used and the fact that it’s waterproof. Inside the box I found the Partner Plus, the charging cable and a multi-lingual user manual. There is no storage pouch or case included, so be sure to pick something up separately to keep it in.

Made from a combination of smooth, velvety soft silicone and a touch of abs plastic, there’s no need to have concerns about the safety of this toy. It’s not toxic, it doesn’t contain latex or phthalates, it is odourless and hypoallergenic which means it can be cleaned easily. I thought that the silicone of this vibrator would be quite draggy but I really didn’t notice much of this at all. It has a small amount, as all silicone sex toys do, but nowhere near as much as I’d anticipated. The brand recommend using a splashing of water based lubricant on both arms for maximum comfort. Following use, rinse away any signs of use with soapy water and leave to dry for next time.

Charging is so simple. It comes with a USB plug on one end which can be placed into a laptop or computer and a magnetic cap at the other end which attaches to the corresponding prongs on the Partner Plus. The control panel will flash whilst charging and go solid once complete. The user manual advises that the first charge could take up to eight hours but ours only took about four as it came with some charge preinstalled. Each additional charge has taken around two hours and lasted just over an hour each time. This is good for about two uses per charge.

Partner Plus Couples Vibrator

Theres only one button on the Partner Plus which is located on the front of the external arm and this controls everything. To turn the toy on, press and hold this button firmly for a few seconds and the control panel will light up and the vibrations will begin. Tap to cycle through the ten functions and press and hold tightly again to turn off. It’s frustrating that there’s only one button as this means having to scroll through all of the settings if you miss the one you were looking for and it kills the mood slightly. I can see why no other buttons were added as this isn’t a girthy toy and it’s also inexpensive, but I’d love to see it as a possibility for future models.

One aspect that confuses me about both of the Partner models I’ve reviewed is the order of the settings. The manual states that pressing and holding the button down for two seconds will start the vibrations at the lowest massage model but in my case, both the Partner and the Partner Plus started on the highest before going down to medium, low and then the patterns. I’ve seen a growing trend in companies ordering the speeds like this as it has me lost as I know most people like to start out at the bottom and work up to full strength, not start on full and climb back down the power ladder.

For me personally I tend to send my toys up to full intensity straight away so this isn’t a major dilemma for me, but I can see why it would annoy others who prefer and need to do the opposite. I’m a power queen and love myself some rumbly vibrations but it’s very difficult to find couples toys that have both the right strength and depth to them. Unfortunately, the Partner Plus didn’t have that depth, or any sort of depth to them really. I struggled to feel anything below the surface level of my clitoris and the settings were all what I’d call buzzy. Tolerable buzzy, but buzzy nonetheless. I preferred the vibrations that belonged to the Partner although there aren’t any internal vibes on that particular model.

Now this edition of the Partner Couples Vibrator is slightly larger than the original in terms of girth. It has 2.75 inches around the widest point, which doesn’t sound huge, but it’s slightly more cumbersome than the original if your partner is well endowed as mine is. The original is just under two inches which makes it ideal for beginners and those who don’t like the stretching sensation, so I’d recommend that as a first couples vibrator for anyone in the above scenarios. My partner is just above average in terms of girth so this one does provide a more filled sensation than the original for me, which is what I prefer.

Partner Plus Couples Vibrator

I did wonder whether the Plus would be long enough to hit my g-spot as it only has an insertable length of just over three inches, but it’s just about right. It may not be the perfect positioning for everyone due to anatomy differences, but I can make it work for my body. It manages to touch up against my spot but it wasn’t the best at stimulating it. This was purely due to the amount of flexibility and squish the internal arm has. It’s a touch firmer than the original, but still not firm enough for my bodies needs and wants.

I need rigid pressure against my g-spot in order to get anything pleasurable out of the experience or come close to orgasm, so the Partner Plus kind of disappointed me in that respect. It’s just too soft for me. The experience was a little better once my partner got involved as his penis pushed the internal  arm upwards to force it to make constant contact with the spot and rub around against it. It wasn’t enough to provide the stimulation that I need or push me over the edge to an orgasm, but I did like the filled sensation that I got from that being inside me alongside my partner.

As for the external arm, I had no issues getting it to sit over my clitoris accurately. This offers more of a firm body so I was able to place it in position without needing to hold onto it or grind it into my pubic bone. I could have clitoral fun hands-free for one of the first times and that experience was wonderful. It felt good to be able to feel vibrations and my partner at the same time whilst allowing my hands to roam free or be tied above my head as he dominated the session. I couldn’t reach orgasm from it as the vibrations were too buzzy for my body, but it was fun to tease and play around with.

Overall, I think the Partner Plus was more of a miss than a hit for me. It has some great things going for it such as its firm external arm, body safe silky exterior, girth that provides a filling sensation when teamed with a penis, it’s waterproof surface and easy to use control panel. It’s also not very loud which makes it great for people who need discretion. Unfortunately though, the downsides are the major things that I don’t want/need or like in a toy such as the high-frequency vibration type and a flexible internal arm. If the Partner and Partner Plus were combined I think I’d have the perfect couples vibrator as I like certain aspects of both, but was let down by some of their other features. I just got my hands on the newest model, the Partner Whale, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will be the one that ticks all of my boxes.

You can purchase the Partner Plus (£54.99) from Bondara. I received the Partner Plus from Partner free of charge in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!

Review: Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet

Back when I first heard about the Tokidoki x Lovehoney collection, I didn’t know much about the brand or what they sold. I decided to do some research and discovered that Tokidoki make a whole plethora of products based around their own adorable characters. Cute and colourful items are all over their website, so of course the sex toys were made to match. I love this because the products aren’t just limited to pink and purple tones. I don’t mind a hot pink vibrator on some occasions, but other times I want blue and red, and thanks to Tokidoki, I can now do that. I think I only own one other red toy out of the 200+ plus I own, so I was pretty excited to get my hands on this third-generation mini bullet.

Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet VibratorThe packaging follows the same theme and style as that of the past two series. It has remained true to branding and is decorated entirely with their famous characters and other adorable things. The bullet protrudes through a cut-out window in the front of a cardboard sleeve, safely secured within some plastic casing. It can be a bit of a pain to get out, so keep some scissors on hand. I think this packaging is lovely and simple, but it’s nice enough that it could be given as a gift as is.

Once I had the bullet removed from the packaging I gave it a once over. I found no faults with the build design, but I did find a love for the design. It’s my favourite of the three bullets that I have from this range so far. The Jolly Roger is made from a robust, body-safe plastic and is very soft to the touch. It has a velvet-like finish because of the coating that has been used on the plastic. It is recommended to use a splashing of water-based lubricant with this toy although I didn’t feel like I had to use much as the material has basically no drag.

Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet VibratorIt’s operated via a single triple A battery which is inserted by unscrewing the cap of the bullet and placing inside the compartment as directed. It’s essential for the cap to be screwed back into position firmly to ensure that the vibrator functions properly and remains completely waterproof. As it is water-friendly, it can be used in the bath or shower and cleaned easily after use. Just add a drop of toy cleaner or soap and rinse off.

As I have tried a couple of these bullet vibrators now I had a good idea of what to expect regarding the power and type of the vibrations. I wouldn’t class them as lacklustre or unimpressive, but there is only the one speed which limits play options. I usually associate single-speed vibrators with the cheap kind that you can buy for less than £5 that provide barely there buzzing, but these Tokidoki bullets are different. Instead of tickle-like, boring vibrations, these bullets offer a decently powered speed. I may be a power queen by default who relies on strength to get her rocks off, but these bullets can get me off if I leave them pressed against me for long enough.

You may now be wondering how something that’s powered by a single battery can please a girl who likes her power straight from the socket and to be honest, so am I. I don’t have any answers. It’s rare for me to orgasm with vibrators like this, but I can get there if I’m patient. It does take quite a while, but it’s not impossible to reach the end result. I can’t say that the orgasm is the most intense, satisfying kind that I’ve received either, but hey, an orgasm is still an orgasm. If I press the Jolly Roger against my clitoral hood then I could orgasm in about fifteen minutes and directly against the clitoris could take about ten minutes. This is long for me as I prefer fast-paced clitoral climaxes, so I wouldn’t use this bullet in the heat of a give-me-an-orgasm-now moment, but it’s ideal for prolonged play or multiple orgasms.

Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet VibratorThe only thing that I’m not particularly fond of is the buzziness of the vibrations. I don’t feel that the Tokidoki bullets reach below the surface as a rumbly vibrator like the Tango would, but it’s not so high-pitched that it becomes numbing. I have a strong preference for rumbles or at least a motor that is somewhere between the two, but this is definitely on the buzzy side. It does not make me hypersensitive, tingly or numb though so I will happily use it every once in a while.

My partner (who happens to be more sensitive than me) does not mind buzzy vibrations. I think he actually prefers them, and for that reason, he gets on incredibly well with the Tokidoki bullets. I think he’d have the entire collection of them if I’d let him. He likes it when I place the Jolly Roger (with some pressure) against his glans during a hand job or against his nipples during a blowjob or some of kind of penetrative sex. He can also use them on himself during masturbation. He says that these bullet vibrators bring him to climax faster than some of our other bullets as the strength is perfect for him.

Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet VibratorNoise wise, the Jolly Roger is quite fair down on the scale. It’s not completely silent, but I’ve never used a vibrator that is. I think this is one of the closest things to it though. It does sound louder up close due to the buzzing of the motor, hardly surprising, but it can’t be heard from outside of the closed bedroom door. I think this bullet would make a great choice for someone who relies on discretion because of their privacy preferences or living situation.

Overall, I’d be happy to recommend the Jolly Roger to anyone, regardless of anatomy. In our experiences, the power is decent enough to bring us to separate orgasms despite having polar opposite tastes in vibrations. It can be used in multiples ways, making it highly versatile, and it’s also hand-held which is great for easy storing and travelling. I can definitely see why more designs of these cute bullets have been added as they are such fun, effective models for those looking for something a bit different. They are non-intimidating, couple-friendly and perfect for anyone who’s a fan of the kawaii scene. Tokidoki x Lovehoney is not a range that will appeal to all age groups and tastes, but for the market it’s aimed at, I can see why it’s successful.

I received the Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet (£12.99) from Lovehoney in exchange for my honest review. Thank you! Affiliate links were used within this post.
