Review: Blush Novelties Aria Vibrance Vibrator

After I put the Lotus Flutter through its paces in 2016, I was hoping to get a chance to review another vibrator from the Blush Novelties Aria range. I got that chance recently from Peepshow Toys who sent over the Vibrance for me to test. I am excited about this collection for a couple of main reasons. The first being the colour options. Each vibrator has been created in four key shades. There are the two obvious choices, pink and purple, but there are also some unexpected colours in the form of a tangy orange and bright lime. It’s so refreshing to see barely used colours featured so prominently within a sex toy collection. The second reason is that it offers good quality, body-safe products at an affordable price point. The vibrators come in a wide variety of shapes and styles to suit every mood and occasion and I’d happily recommend this line to those on a budget who want something safe but not lacking in standards.

The presentation for Aria products is not particularly fancy. It’s just a white cardboard sleeve with a viewing window in the front, cut-out logo on one side and list of multilingual key features on the back. Inside the sleeve, the Vibrance is found within some plastic casing. Underneath there’s a cardboard leaflet that gives some directions for use, more product information and warranty instructions. This line doesn’t include storage bags with the products which is a minor downside for me but not an essential.

Made from a velvety smooth, silky soft silicone which is non-toxic, odourless, hypoallergenic and latex and phthalate free, the Vibrance is the essence of body safe. It has minimal drag to the surface but a touch of water-based lubricant for comfort is never a bad thing. I would recommend it if using internally but I didn’t use any during external use. The material does harbor some lint and fluids, particularly around the bottom of the shaft, but this can easily be removed with running water. It’s a fully waterproof vibrator so rinsing with soap is no issue providing the battery compartment is properly in place.

It takes two triple A batteries, which are not included, and these need to be inserted into the base. Unscrew it to reveal the compartment and look at the diagrams inscribed inside to make sure the batteries are being placed correctly. Once in, screw the base back on and get ready to go. The singular button that controls all operation is located on the front of the base and should be pressed once to start the vibrations. Tap again to cycle through the various speeds or press and hold for a few seconds to turn off. It doesn’t have up and down arrows to scroll back through a function if you miss the one you desire so that can be a little frustrating, but for this price point, I cannot complain.

There are ten lovely functions to choose from on the Vibrance, five of them are constant speeds and the remaining five are patterned vibrations. I prefer constant vibrations so the choice of extra speeds over seven unusable patterns was very much appreciated. If you are like myself and would rather have a steady setting than a zigzag pattern or rollercoaster of intensities then the Aria range could be ideal for you. I haven’t used the patterns other than to test them out in my hand because as expected they are not suited to me but there’s a fun variety for those who do enjoy them.

Fragile, delicate and gentle are all words I’d use to describe the first speed. It’s subtle, tickle-like and perfect for warming up or introducing someone to vibrations for the first time. The second speed was still quite soft but the vibrations did feel almost rumbly towards the base where the bulk of the power resonated. The third speed is where the vibrations begin to pick up in pace. The power is an improvement but the sensations become buzzy from this point onwards. The fourth speed improves again, but the fifth speed is where the surprise hit me. There’s a big jump in intensity there. It’s sadly the most buzzy speed of them all too so I unfortunately can’t use it externally as it numbs my clitoris.

I have used the Aria Vibrance for both internal and external use, but for me, it shines best internally. I decided to use it for clitoral use during sex with my partner first. It’s small enough to hold between our bodies in most positions although a bullet is more conveniently sized and practical. I used the constant speeds up to the fourth intensity for some added stimulation during penetration but I couldn’t reach an orgasm with it this way. I need more power externally than this can offer me and I can’t handle the buzziness of the fifth speed which may have been strong enough to do the job otherwise. It hasn’t worked during solo sessions for external play either so I’ve had to rule this out as an option for me.

Blush Novelties Aria VibranceMy partner had a completely different external experience. He does not need buckets of strength to orgasm and doesn’t mind buzzy vibration frequencies so this worked out perfectly for his needs. He liked the toy to be placed against the tip of his penis and held there whilst he masturbated. It definitely induced his orgasms faster and made them feel more intense so he’d happily recommend it to other penis owners or people who don’t need super strong settings to get their kicks.

I didn’t end up handing the Vibrance over to him permanently though as I mentioned that it worked for me internally. I actually had a whale of a time during sessions with this. It has an overall length of 6.2 inches with 4.5 inches being insertable. This is a great length for first time users, those who don’t enjoy deep penetration and those who fancy something shallower from time to time. I fit into the latter category. I don’t always want to push my vaginas limits and avoid my cervix, sometimes I just want something short and sweet. This is exactly that. It has a maximum circumference of around 4.3 inches at its widest point which is again manageable for a wide variety of people and circumstances. I wouldn’t advise this to someone who’s never inserted anything before but if two fully inserted fingers are comfortable then this should be fine.

Blush Novelties Vibrance is firm to the touch and the silicone has no squish but it does have some flexibility. It can be moved in all directions to a certain extent which makes it ergonomic and likely to contour to each individual anatomy it pairs with. The gorgeous twist texture that it features is more prevalent than I expected and it feels incredible in use. It provides a delightful internal massage to the vaginal walls if twisted whilst inserted or rocked gently back and forth. I didn’t find it as pleasant when thrusting so tend to opt for more relaxed methods of movement.

Blush Novelties Aria VibranceOverall, I was not disappointed with my first experience with the Aria line and I haven’t been disappointed with my second. The Vibrance is a non-intimidating, quirky vibrator with great texture and satisfactory vibrations. I personally need more power if I want to use something like this externally but it was suitable for internal use and working up my partner who is less power inclined. Its quiet enough for those who need discretion with a bit of background noise and at this price, you can’t really go wrong.

Review: Partner Whale Couples Vibrator

The term “couples vibrator” is one that sparks a great deal of debate on social media, blogs and forums. This is because these types of sex toys tend to be inclusive to one particular type of couple (a straight, male/female partnership) and don’t vouch for other couplings. I’m not majorly fond of the term myself but for the purpose of this review I shall be using it as this toy has clearly been designed with a couple in mind. I bet you guessed that based on the name Partner though. I do think this was intended to be used by a straight pairing but I believe that anyone in a partnership consisting of a vulva, clitoris and something penetrative (be that a finger, a penis or a dildo) could potentially make it work.

I haven’t tried many couples vibrators over the past couple of years that I’ve been reviewing, but the handful I have tried have all been at the higher end of the pricing scale. I was intrigued by the Partner range for that very reason as all of their current models come in at entry-level to mid-range price tags. I understand that not everybody wants to, or can afford to, splash out over $100 on a We-Vibe Sync or Classic, so I had high hopes that one of these models would be good enough for me to recommend as a more affordable alternative. I have tried all three of the existing models now so it’s time to answer the big question. Which one is the best? The Partner? The Partner Plus? Or the uber cute Partner Whale?

Arriving in a white and blue cardboard box with a glossy product shot on the front and back, I was pleased with the presentation. The images were tasteful and gave off a welcoming, non-intimidating vibe that would be ideal for those who may be new to the sex toy scene or introducing a toy within their partnership for the first time. The box lists some key features on the sides such as the number of functions, materials used and the fact that it’s waterproof. Inside, I found the Partner Whale, the charging cable and a user manual. There’s no storage included.

Partner Whale Couples Vibrator

Made from a combination of velvety soft, smooth silicone and a touch of abs plastic, there’s no concerns about the safety of this toy. It’s non-toxic, latex and phthalate free, odourless and hypoallergenic.   I expected the Partner Whale to have some drag to its silicone body because of the ridged texture on the internal arm but there wasn’t much at all. It has some, as silicone always does, but nothing that a quick coating of water based lubricant couldn’t remove. I lube up both the internal arm and the area of the external arm that makes contact with the clitoris for comfort. After use, I give it a thorough rinse with warm soapy water and leave it to dry.

It is a rechargeable vibe with a USB connector on one side and a magnetic cap at the other which attaches to the corresponding prongs on the toy. The control panel flashes whilst the Whale is charging and the light goes solid once complete. The manual states that each charge should take around two hours, which I’ve found to be accurate, and this should provide up to sixty-five minutes of use. We’ve found the use time a little less but we tend to use it on the high power speed consistently.

There’s only one button on this vibrator and that is located on the external arm. Press it once firmly for a few seconds, wait for the control panel to light up and the vibrations will begin. Tap to cycle through the ten available functions and press and hold down for a few seconds to turn off. One button means it’s easy to understand but it also means you have to scroll through all of the settings if you miss the one you were looking for. I’d have loved a central power button with up and down arrows to change settings more conveniently. I hope this will be the case with future Partner vibrators.

The Whale has the same irritating order of patterns as the other two models that I tried. The manual states that pressing and holding the button down for two seconds will start the vibrations at the lowest massage level but from my experience with the Partner range so far, this isn’t true. All of them have started on high intensity before going down to medium, low and then the seven patterns. This is deeply confusing to me as the majority of people seem to like to start at the bottom and work up to full strength, not start on full and crawl back down.

I personally whack my vibrators up to full power straight away on most occasions so this wasn’t majorly problematic for me but I can see why it would annoy other people who prefer the opposite. I like a ton of strength with rumbly vibrations but this combination seems to be hard to find in these types of couples vibrators. Partner’s Whale doesn’t have any depth to its vibrations whatsoever. All of the sensations are surface level and buzzy. They couldn’t reach most of my external nerve endings. They do have a reasonable of strength to them and the buzzing is tolerable but it takes a while for me to get off from them.

The Whale has a very similar shape to the Partner Plus but the dimensions are different. The external arm is 3.5 inches around at its widest point which covers the entire clitoral area. The internal arm has 2.3 inches of usable length and a maximum girth of 2.5 inches. This is not very wide at all so I expected my above average partner to have no problems inserting him underneath it. My partner has a larger girth that provides a full feeling at the best of the times so I did feel rather like I had reached full capacity with both of them inside. If it had been much wider then I think I would have struggled to accommodate them both but it was manageable with warm-up and splashings of lube.

I can’t say that our encounters with the Whale have been the most comfortable sexual experiences for my partner. He felt that thrusting was difficult with this toy as the external arm kept sliding out of position each time he pulled back, poking his schlong. I think external stimulation is the most important part of a couples vibrator so the fact that the pressure kept disconnecting as the external arm moved back ruined the experience for me. This was not an issue with the Partner or Partner Plus so I can’t put my finger on a reason why this occurred with the Whale. I would have thought that the subtle texture made for better grip than the silky soft silicone that the others have but apparently not.

One thing I loved about the Whale was the internal arm. I wasn’t fond of the squishy, flexible arm that the previous models had and Partner have improved on that massively with this version. It has a firmer shaft that gives me adequate pressure and the added bonus of ridged texture on its inside. These ridges aren’t defined enough to bring me to climax on their own but I always appreciate some love and attention against my front wall. I felt the shaft was just about long enough to hint, grind and push against my g-spot in sync with my partners movements but it may not fit everybody’s anatomy in the same way.

Overall, I think the Whale has adorable aesthetics, a fitting colour scheme, better firmness than the previous two models and fun texture to add some extra flavour. It has all of the benefits of the others such as body-safe materials and being rechargeable, quiet and waterproof. It unfortunately also has the downside I’ve commented on previously – buzzy vibrations. For the next model I would love to see a change in motor. Low frequency, rumbly vibrations would be fantastic. I’d also love to see a three button control panel for ease of changing the settings. If those two things were combined with the shape of the Partner Plus, the dimensions of the Partner and the aesthetics and texture of the Whale then I think I’d have found my perfect match.

You can purchase the Partner Whale Couples Vibrator ($49.95/£36.75) from Peepshow Toys. You can get 10% off any purchases with the code “NatandTom”.

Review: Toyfriend Nosy Silicone G-Spot Vibrator

When the opportunity arose to test the Toyfriend Nosy for Betty’s Toy Box, I happily volunteered. I was extremely intrigued by the shape and dimensions of this vibrator and the colour caught and captured my full attention. I am so used to seeing pinks, purples and blacks in this industry so when I come across something bright and beautiful like this I get really excited. It comes in a cute sunshine yellow and happens to be the first toy in my ever-expanding collection that comes in this shade. I dig it. It also happens to be the first toy I’ve tried from this brand. All I knew about Toyfriend beforehand was that they were made by Tickler, the Swedish brand associated with the founder of Lelo.

It arrives in a white and yellow cardboard box with a cut out viewing window in the front. It’s simplistic and plain, but does the job of protecting the item inside. The back of the box offered a description, some instructions for use and basic care directions. Inside, I found the Nosy in some plastic casing alongside a small leaflet that introduces the various Toyfriend models. This product does not come with any storage so be sure to pick some up separately to keep it in great condition.

Non-toxic, latex free, phthalate free and hypoallergenic, the Nosy meets all of my body-safe criteria. It’s made from silicone which is notorious for having some resistance and creating a bit of a dragging sensation, but it’s pretty minimal on this vibrator. I only found drag occurring around the embossed brand name on one side of the shaft as the rest is very smooth, soft and well polished leaving little to no friction. Toyfriend recommend using water based lubricant with the Nosy anyway, so this would reduce the drag if it were there. It’s waterproof so can be rinsed with warm soapy water after each use and left to dry naturally. Just be sure that the battery compartment is in place tightly first.

This is a battery operated vibrator that takes two triple a’s. These surprisingly come included, which makes a nice change, and these are placed inside the toy upon arrival. All that you need to do is remove the piece of paper inside the compartment then screw the base back on. On the base there is a singular button that controls all of the toys operation. Press once to start the vibrations, tap again to cycle through the functions and press and hold to turn off.

There are five functions to choose from. Two constant speeds of differing intensities and three patterns. As usual, the patterns were not for me. I find them buzzy, off-putting and generally not my thing but I can vouch for the constant speeds being fun. I had no idea what to expect in terms of strength, but I definitely thought it would be less than it was. It starts out on the stronger intensity which is powerful straight out of the gate and probably just over average. I’m a power queen that can struggle with battery operated vibrators as they often don’t have the motor power I need, but I do think the Nosy has great strength for the type of batteries it takes. Its vibrations travel well throughout the entire shaft although there are two points that are most obvious. Lower portion of the shaft and the head. The strength between them isn’t as strong but I think that’s due to the bend.

Toyfriend Nosy Silicone G-Spot VibratorIf I follow the curve of the shaft then there is 8.6 inches of overall length. This gives me around 6.5 inches of usable length with just enough room remaining to grip onto. The head has a maximum girth of around 3.7 inches at the widest point and the shaft has a consistent width of 4.3 inches. The head is usually the widest point of a g-spot vibrator which makes this toy a bit different, but it doesn’t stop it from being any better or worse than other styles.

I decided to try this for clitoral play before I used it internally as I thought the head resembled a pebble shape which has seemed to work for me in the past. It offers a smooth tapered tip that can provide some precision, albeit not as much as a bullet could, but enough for me to get something from it. The Nosy is firm and inflexible which makes it very easy to get a good amount of pressure and grind the toy into the pubic mound for maximum contact and stimulation. The vibrations felt good clitorally and I was able to get my rocks off although it did take a while. I personally need more intensity for clitoral stimulation than I do for vaginal, so being able to orgasm in this way gave me high hopes for the internal stuff.

You may have noticed that the shape of the Toyfriend Nosy is very unusual. It’s not your typical g-spot vibrator that features a bit of a bulbed head and subtle curve. It reminds me of a couples vibrator actually. If I place this next to the Partner then I think the tip and curve of the Nosy look similar to the shape of the external arm and bend on the Partner. It’s definitely different, unique and unusual so I was excited to put it to the test. I inserted it with the head pointing up towards to my g-spot and noticed that the part of the toy where the curve ends and the shaft begins is exactly when I feel the toy find it. It is an odd-looking device but contours to my anatomy very well.

Toyfriend Nosy Silicone G-Spot VibratorIf I rock the top portion of the shaft (which I like to refer to as the hook as it kind of resembles one) back and forth gently then the firmness of the head almost melts into my g-spot. It gets all the right pleasure spots and provides a perfect amount of pressure. I’d consider it to be more of an internal massage than a battering into oblivion which is something like the nJoy Pure Wand would do. It is a gentle experience and subtle seducer but it is definitely pleasurable and almost effortless to use. I don’t have to move it much to benefit so it’s ideal for a lazy masturbation session.

I may have more powerful vibrating insertables in my collection but that doesn’t mean this one is incapable of doing its job. I can reach an orgasm with it. Admittedly, it doesn’t give me super strong or intense orgasms nor does it make me squirt, but it does give some relief. It’s a quick burst of pleasure rather than a drawn out finale which is my preference for internal stuff. I prefer my quick release clitorally so the way that this worked with my body was sort of mixed up. If I could have climaxed from using it clitorally at a faster pace and had a longer but stronger orgasm internally then it would have been perfect for me.

Overall, I think the Toyfriend Nosy is a decent sex toy but we have different habits. It’s not quite the right product for my body, my preferences or the circumstances I like to masturbate in. That doesn’t make it a bad product though. We can’t all be compatible with every sex toy or we’d find them boring and predictable. I do think this would be a good choice for people who prefer quick bursts of internal pleasure after a slow build up, people who are still exploring their g-spot preferences and people who have weak wrists or joints and aren’t able to thrust much. If you like bright colours, quiet vibrators, unusual shapes and soft silicone on top of all that then this may be a dream come true for you. If you’d rather have the gradual build up followed by explosions of strong orgasms that leave you shivering for ten minutes afterwards then I would look elsewhere.

You can purchase the Toyfriend Nosy ($53.99/£41.38) from Betty’s Toy Box.

Review: VeDO GEESlim Silicone G-Spot Vibrator

Before I get stuck into this review I want to tell you a little about the company who sent me the product. That company is Peepshow Toys. If you’ve ever checked out their site then you’ll have noticed that they only stock body-safe sex toys, lubricants, bondage gear and other sexy essentials. I did my first set of reviews for them recently and absolutely fell in love with them, their site and their philosophy. They are extremely helpful and friendly and I love that they genuinely care about what us as customers put in and around our orifices. If you are new to sex toys and are unsure as to which materials are safe and which are not, then head over to Peepshow Toys and buy yourself something fun with complete peace of mind that you’re not getting something that will potentially harm you. I’m also going to shamelessly plug the fact that you can now get 10% off site wide with my code “NatandTom”.

I think the shape of the VeDO GEESlim is one that’s well documented. Virtually every sex shop I’ve ever visited has had at least one similarly shaped vibrator stocked. The dimensions may be slightly different from place to place, but all of the ones that I’ve come across have been made from hard plastic, look as cheap and basic as the price tag suggests and take batteries. The GEESlim is like an upgraded, luxurious take on a classic and it comes in pretty colours. I mean who doesn’t need more turquoise in their toy box? It also comes in the obvious choices of Foxy Pink and Into You Indigo but I love that there’s another option for those who want something different.

It arrives in simplistic, minimalistic packaging as expected. A white turquoise box with a product shot on the front, description and diagram on the back and further photos on the sides. Inside I found the VeDO GEESlim resting within some soft black casing and the charging cable and product guide were tucked away underneath. It doesn’t come with any storage but that was to be expected at this price point. One thing that I will say is that it may have been better to pack it in plastic rather than fluffy casing as some of it transferred onto the material of the vibrator.

VeDO GeeSlim G-Spot Vibrator

As it’s made from silicone, lint is expected to be attracted to it but that generally happens whilst out of the box, not when inside of it. Be sure to rinse it thoroughly before using it to remove any traces of unwanted matter like pet hair or fluff. It is submersible so rinsing is not an issue but make sure the base is screwed back on firmly before taking it near the water. After use, clean with warm soapy water and dry naturally. This is a hypoallergenic, latex free and phthalate free material. It’s completely body-safe but it tends to have some amount of drag to its surface. There wasn’t much resistance in this case as the silicone is silky smooth and soft. A coating of water based lubricant clears any friction up anyway.

The GEESlim is not one of those cheap battery-operated models that are sold everywhere. It’s actually rechargeable. To charge, unscrew the plastic base, place the jack into the port inside and attach the USB to your laptop or other charging station. A red light will turn on to indicate that the charge has begun and it will turn green once finished. There’s no estimated charging or use time listed in the guide so I’d have to guess based on my experiences and say an hour and a half to charge with forty-five minutes of use time.

A singular button on the base is in charge of all operation. Tap it once to start the vibrations, tap again to cycle through the functions and press and hold for a couple of seconds to turn off. It’s easy to understand and perfect for a first time toy user. There are ten functions to choose from. There are three constant speeds of varying intensity and seven different patterns. The patterns are not for me as I prefer constant speeds, but there is a good variety for those who are interested.

Measuring up at just under seven inches in overall length, there are roughly six and a half inches that could be inserted. This is a perfect length for me as it doesn’t hit my cervix (when I’m fully relaxed) but I could also use whatever length I don’t need as extra handle room. I tend to use around five insertable inches and would recommend others do the same so you can get a better grip on the toy. The cap isn’t very easy to hold onto so having a small area of shaft free makes a lot of difference in how I can use and move the vibrator. It has just under 3.9 inches of girth around the widest point of the head which is a diameter of around 1.18 and the shaft is roughly 2.5 inches around.

Vibration wise, I was expecting less than I got. I think the vibrations are roughly average in terms of strength. There’s nothing particularly impressive about them and I don’t think they have enough oomph to satisfy a power queen but this makes the toy ideal for those who don’t need mega intensity or simply want to get a feel for vibrations for the first time. I thought the first setting was rumblyish, which was nice, but the settings that followed become buzzier. I wasn’t suddenly pushed into a beehive or anything as the sensations were tolerable, but ultimately are not my preference.

Although I said earlier that I’ve seen many vibrators of this shape, I’d never actually tried one of them. I have looked at them before and if I’d seen this particular one back when I was just getting into sex toys and g-spot stimulation, I think I would have purchased it. It would have been ideal for me as a beginner. It has the bulbous head and curve needed for this type of play and the slim shaft that follows is great for getting used to the feeling of something being inserted. It doesn’t push many limits and I see it as a gentle introduction to the g-spot.

VeDO GeeSlim G-Spot Vibrator

VeDO GeeSlim G-Spot VibratorVeDO GeeSlim G-Spot VibratorVeDO GeeSlim G-Spot Vibrator

The GEESlim is quite firm which is ideal for g-spot stuff and something that I think is an essential factor for me personally if I want to potentially reach an orgasm. I discovered that thrusting was the best technique to use as the head could then batter my g-spot in all the right ways. It’s more of a bump and grind situation than a gentle caress and I’m totally fine with that. I need there to be a certain level of pressure applied if I’m going to get the job finished and I can get that with this vibrator. It felt lovely without the vibrations but those added sensations definitely helped bring me to the edge faster.

Do you need discretion because of your living situation or privacy fears? If you answered yes, then I’m pleased to say that this should be fine. It’s not silent, but it’s not mains-powered wand loud either. It is somewhere between the two and can be disguised if needed. If I closed the door to the room I’m in and turn on a playlist then no-one else in the house has a clue what’s going on. I have used this with people in the next room with no problems at all, just for reference.

Overall, I think the VeDO GEESlim is a top-notch, good-quality, affordable vibrator that is perfect for first time users. If you want to explore your g-spot with a toy for the first time then this is a great choice. It may not wow you if you’ve already got a lot of sex toys, but it is an excellent choice for those who are earlier on in their sex toy journeys and collections. We all start somewhere and this is a timeless toy that can take you on a basic exploration tour of your body. If you’re not sure whether this type of play is for you, this is an option that will allow you to explore without breaking the bank and dropping dollars on crappy vibrators. It took me back to basics and whilst it didn’t blow my mind, I think it could have done when I was new and not spoiled by the likes of the Lelo Mona 2 and the We-Vibe Rave.
