Review: Desirables Dalia G-Spot and Kegel Porcelain Dildo

I recently received a review package from Desirables that included the lovely Adori massagers, a surprise sample of the Omeha Massage Oil and the delightful Dalia. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Isabelle (the founder of Desirables – read more about her here) for sending me these items and being so sweet during our communications.

If you haven’t read the other two reviews yet, you might not know a great deal about them, but never fear, I am here to tell you everything you need to know about the company. Their main focus is intimacy rather than quick orgasms, which is a nice change in this industry. Whilst I love a quick orgasm as much as the next man, intimacy is extremely important too and thanks to Desirables, we now have fun and luxurious products to help us to enjoy this aspect of our relationship. Everything they design is respectful, functional and aesthetically pleasing. They put great care into the entire design/creative process, which is clearly visible when holding the products in your hands. Everything I have tried so far has been extremely high-quality and beautifully made.

It’s just not the products that are beautiful, the packaging is classic, elegant and couple-friendly too. It’s very simple and understated, but at the same time it isn’t cheap, tacky or boring. I think their products would make excellent gifts for your loved one without any further wrapping needed. The box everything arrived in was discreet as advertised and made it to the UK from Canada in less than a week, which is pretty impressive. The packaging for the Dalia is just a plain white box but it features a burgundy product label that has been securely placed around it. This then slides off when it’s time to open the box. The label shows the product name with an illustration of the dildo on the back, along with an introduction to the product in both English and French. Inside the box I found the Dalia, a storage pouch, user manual and small pamphlet with basic information regarding use and cleaning.

I’m pleased to report that this toy is completely body-safe, non-toxic and free from phthalates. It is made from porcelain, which is a hypoallergenic material that’s ideal for contact with skin. Porcelain retains heat, meaning the product will warm up to body temperature after a few minutes of use. Desirables are a company that have done their material research. They believe that the process of choosing a bedroom product should be filled with excitement and joy, not health and material quality concerns. I completely agree with and promote this. Any company, big or small, who puts body-safety first are companies that I want to associate with and support.

The Dalia has a smooth and regular surface which can be rinsed under water for a quick and easy clean. You can use soap or toy cleaner, as I have used both with no issues. It should not be cleaned in the dishwasher or boiling water. It’s best to rinse before and after each use and store in the provided bag between uses to prevent lint, chips, breaks and general damage. As for lubricant, I would recommend using a little, particularly with the larger side, but the type of lubricant is up to you. This toy is compatible with water-based, hybrid and silicone lube, so it’s all down to personal preference.

In terms of size, the measurements of the Dalia feel like I had chosen them myself. It has the perfect length and a really comfortable amount of girth, which are the measurements I would have looked for when choosing a toy like this. The girth should be manageable for most people who’ve encountered penetration. The kegel end has a maximum girth of 3.9″ inches and the g-spot end offers up 4.5″ inches around the widest point. The overall length is around 7″ inches, so the maximum insertable length is around 6 – 6.5″ inches depending how much of the toy you want to use and how much handle room you need. I tend to stick around 4.5″ inches because I only really need the bulbous head from the g-spot side and the slimmer, rounded end for kegel exercisers. I use the thinnest part of the shaft as the handle.

I tried the g-spot end first because this is my favourite type of stimulation after clitoral and I’m always looking for new ways to explore this sensitive spot. I liked that this end of the toy features a plier tip as this makes for easy insertion and it’s one of the best shapes for g-spot exploration and stimulation. I applied a small amount of silicone lubricant to the end and slowly inserted it. It didn’t take very long to find the spot as it’s very sensitive to temperature, which made it stand out easily once it felt the cool surface of the Dalia. I applied my desired amount of pressure and began to slide the toy in and out at a steady, but enough to keep me on my toes rhythm. It didn’t take me long to reach my climax. The weight is a huge part of why I find this toy so enjoyable and the rigidity of a material like this pleases my g-spot without much effort on my (or my partners) part.

I then flipped it over to the kegel side and pondered for a while, unsure of whether I’d be able to make it work for this purpose or not. You see, I’ve only just worked up to 90/100g kegel exercisers, so this toy (at 232g) is a bit too heavy for me to use successfully at the moment. I can use it for a few moment, but I definitely am not working out my pelvic floor properly, which makes me feel like I should hold off on using this side for that purpose until I’ve worked my way up to heavier weights. I haven’t seen many kegel exercisers around this weight, so this would be perfect for those who have explored lighter options and want a real challenge. I hope that I will get to enjoy this side of the toy for kegel exercises eventually, but for now, I’m just using it for general vaginal stimulation when I’m not particularly in the mood for g-spot play.

Desirables Dalia 5Overall, the Dalia is a beautiful piece of art and it truly represents everything Desirables stand for. I have no negative things to say about it, even if I can’t yet use it for one of the purposes it was designed for, I still think this toy is absolutely fabulous. I never knew that I needed a porcelain dildo, but I’m so glad that I now have one. If you enjoy glass, metal or stone toys then I think porcelain is a material you must try at least once.

I received the Dalia G-Spot and Kegel Porcelain Dildo ($148 CAD/£87.97) from Desirables in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!
