Review: Lovehoney USB Rechargeable Mini Magic Wand Vibrator

Round up, round-up, I have another Lovehoney own branded product to rave about. I’m excited about this one and whilst it will never be a Doxy, it is still a rather nice toy to own.

Lovehoney Usb Rechargeable Mini WandAs you may know by now, I still live at home so I purchased this with discretion in mind. My partner and I had come to the conclusion a full size wand wouldn’t get much use due to the noise, so ordered three smaller alternatives. We have since got ourselves a mains powered wand and are looking at getting the Doxy Die-Cast in the near future as we’ve decided not to sacrifice power for quietness anymore.

Saying that, this was the best of the three small wands we ordered and is regularly used and enjoyed when others are home. All three wands we went for were Lovehoney own brand, but the others have now been retired.

It arrived in sleek and couple friendly packaging with a picture of the toy on the front and key features on the side. Some plastic casing protects the wand and the charging cable. There’s also a small information leaflet explaining how to use and charge the toy. I don’t have it anymore, but if you’ve ever owned an own brand product from Lovehoney, you know what to expect.

My wand came with a small amount of charge but I like to give every toy I use a full charge before initial play anyway. The charging point is fairly discreet as it’s located in the slim base of the wand. Charging is easy, push the jack into the charging point and the USB into your chosen USB port. A full charge takes around 90 minutes and this gives you approximately 50 minutes of playtime. I find it’s around 40 minutes for me but I use the higher settings mostly. Unfortunately, there’s no charging light so you have to watch the clock with this one.

Lovehoney USB Rechargeable Mini Magic Wand VibratorThe handle is made from ABS plastic and the head from a smooth silicone. I was surprised to discover the head is actually removable, it makes for a much easier cleaning process as the rest of the wand isn’t waterproof.  Cleaning lube or bodily fluids from the ridges of the head can be a pain, I recommend toy cleaner and an old toothbrush. (I still don’t actually know why the ridges are there?) The rest of the toy can just be wiped clean with a toy wipe.

Just like the other two wands, this one has a flexible neck. I find this one feels more sturdy, I’m not worried about snapping it should I need to/want to alter the positioning. As not everybody as the exact same anatomy, the flexible neck allows you to individualise your experience and place it in a way that feels right for you. It’s not only good for your intimate regions though, it’s perfect for massage too. (More about that later)

I find it essential to use a slathering of water-based lubricant around the head or the drag from the silicone causes discomfort. Once applied, I can lay back and relax, eventually obtaining a lazy orgasm. It’s super easy to use as its operated via a scroll wheel. Scroll downwards to turn on and increase speed and power, scroll upwards to lower intensity and turn off.

I was surprised to find the lower end of the vibrations to be quite deep and rumbly. I thought here we go, we might be onto a winner here. However, the vibrations do get buzzier as the intensity increases. This toy holds a nice amount of power and strength for its size. It is enough to generate an orgasm (when combined with some internal stimulation) and enough to work knots out of my back during a well-needed massage. My partner finds the mains wand to be a bit much for him, he’s not as thirsty for power, so this is perfect for him. It can be used wherever he pleases, against the head of his penis, his balls or even run up and down his shaft.
