Review: Motorhead Ace of Spades 10 Function Bullet Vibrator

This was the first ever toy I received to test from Lovehoney, so it holds a very special place in my Toybox. Having a song named ‘Vibrator makes Motorhead the perfect musicians to have their own range of sex toys. If you watched the Joy Of Sex Toys on Lifetime, you may have seen the making of the Motorhead range, which consists so far of two bullet vibrators and two classic vibrators.

This bullet comes solidly attached to a cardboard sheet with some fun information on the back. It’s difficult to remove and it took me about ten to fifteen minutes even with scissors. It’s nice enough to be given as a gift, but definitely keep something sharp close by to get to the toy. A little Motorhead storage bag to keep it in would have been nice as an extra.

Examining this beautiful toy, I was impressed with the quality. It’s so petite, it fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. This toy is made from sturdy ABS plastic and is lovely and smooth to the touch. One side of the toy features ‘Born To Lose’ and the other reads ‘Motorhead’.

The Ace of Spades bullet takes 1 AAA battery which is a shame as I’m not really fond of battery operated toys anymore. It’s easy to insert by unscrewing the cap and just slipping it inside, thankfully there’s no fiddly battery compartment to contend with. It does remind you to always remove the battery from the toy between uses, which is very essential with batteries, as they can corrode and ruin your toy.

As the title suggests, this small bullet has ten functions. Three speeds and seven patterns. When I first got this toy, I was still learning what I liked and didn’t overly hate the patterns, which I guess is a good thing as this toy has a few of them! This toy is operated through a singular button on the base, so is very easy to operate, simply  tap once to turn on and tap again to cycle through the functions. Pressing and holding for a few seconds will turn the toy off. As the toy is short, I found I caught the button accidentally and changed functions or turned off the toy, a little more length could have helped with this.

The bullet has a circumference and insertable length of 2.5 inches. The length and width make this extremely comfortable to insert. This doesn’t really do much for me internally, but is a different story clitorally. It features a pointed tip that provides precise stimulation. Before I discovered the Tango, this was one of the strongest bullets I’d used. For something so petite that operates on only one battery, it holds some power. The vibrations don’t travel through the shaft as well as I had hoped, most of the strength can be found in the tip. The vibrations also dull as pressure is applied.

Now that I’ve been exposed to rumbly vibrations, I realize that this toy isn’t as strong as I once thought. The highest speed is probably the same as the weakest on the Tango, with buzzy undertones. The vibrations are very superficial and don’t penetrate the surface, which is what I need to get off now.  The patterns are also what I’d class as buzzy. My partner thinks they’re decent, but he’s only recently started to try vibrators out  and doesn’t need as much power to assist his orgasm. As a starting bullet or a memento as a diehard fan, I’d say give it a try, otherwise, save up and buy something stronger.

I think this bullet is quiet and as they were made to be heavy metal merchandise, I did expect more noise. I’m not sure if this is good or bad, but if a toy is meant to rock, I’d like it to do so in every way. (Never thought I’d have a problem with quietness!)

Overall this waterproof, easy-to-use and easy-to-clean bullet is average in power and sleek in design. I don’t get much from it now I’ve moved onto stronger, but my partner still enjoys it. If I could improve the toy, I’d make it a rechargeable version of this design with the power of the Tango.

I received the Motorhead Ace of Spades 10 Function Bullet Vibrator (£14.99) from Lovehoney in exchange for my honest review. Thank you! You can find the entire Motorhead collection here. Affiliate links have been used throughout this post.

Great review, I really like the look of this bullet! As a rock chick it certainly appeals visually. But I prefer rumbly deeper vibrations and I prefer rechargeable too, so I think I’ll be getting the Tango!

Thanks! This is one of the first I ever wrote.

The Tango is definitely the way forward. This one could not even compare to it. It’s a nice bullet for an introductory type vibrator though. The classic vibrators in this range and the Motley Crue collection have a lot more power than the bullets, so they may appeal more. There’s also the Motörhead Mains Powered Wand and that’s supposed to be very good!
