Review: Pink Bob Paris Nubby Teaser Vibrator

Pink Bob Paris Nubby VibeThe Paris Nubby, Entice Bullet and the Alex arrived super fast from the states as my first review package from Pink Bob. The parcel was plain and discreet as advertised and the packaging for the items themselves were tasteful. The packaging for the Paris Nubby was pretty unassuming as there were no pictures of the toy or cut out areas to view the vibrator inside. It did point out a few key features on the side, but as I found with the Alex, there was no mention on the packaging as to whether it was waterproof or not.

It turns out it is, as I checked via the website and I’ve had no problems cleaning it under running water, but I don’t think is a toy I’d typically take into the bath or shower. The Paris Nubby is made from silicone, which is hypoallergenic and non-porous, as well as being free from latex and phthalates. It’s completely odourless and has none of that sticky, oily texture that cheap materials claiming to be silicone have, so I’m comfortable that this material is what it claims to be and is body-safe. The silicone is seam-free and extremely smooth to the touch. It doesn’t have much of a drag to it at all and it feels really sleek for the most part. I would recommend using water-based lubricant on the nubs or the clitoris before use to maximise comfort and enjoyment.

This vibrator is battery-operated and takes two triple a’s. The battery compartment is labelled to ensure batteries and placed inside the right way. I did have an issue with one of the batteries getting stuck inside the toy on my first use with it, but I think it may have got caught up in the labelled piece of paper inside the compartment which caused it to get stuck. The paper cannot be removed as the toy simply will not work with out it, so it took a few hits against the surface to get it out again and unfortunately the battery had already began to corrode. During future uses I have ensured the paper is as smooth as possible before inserting the batteries. The compartment is easy to access as there’s a little catch on the outside which can be pulled to open it up.

Pink Bob Paris Nubby VibeIt is operated by a two-button control panel, a power button and a heart button. The power is pretty self-explanatory in that it just turns the toy on and off. The heart button changes through the various functions. There are three speeds and four patterns to explore. The control panel lights up red when in use on the constant vibrations and then flashes in accordance with the patterns. The patterns are the basic types you’d expect to find on an inexpensive, battery-operated toy and although they’re not to my liking as I’m not a fan of patterns, the options are there for people who do enjoy them.

I think that this is my favourite of the three toys that I was sent because a) I love clitoral vibrators and they’re my absolute weakness and b) the shape of this toy is super comfortable to hold, even for longer periods of time. I was pleased to discover that the vibrations don’t travel through to the plastic handle as this avoids my hand going numb mid-session and killing the mood. I was also fairly pleased with the strength of the vibrations. I will say that they’re not mind-blowing powerful, but I wasn’t expecting them to be. I can just about reach orgasm on the highest setting, despite the vibrations being the buzzy variety, although it does take me 15-20 minutes to get there. I have a clitoris made from steel though and it’s used to harsher intensities, so those with a sensitive clitoris will probably be able to orgasm much faster.

The shaft/neck of this vibrator can be bent backwards, sidewards or moved forwards if you need to make some subtle adjustments for comfort or anatomy purposes. The nubs are also flexible which means you should be prepared for them to bend and move slightly if you’re a fan of firm pressure against the clitoris and tend to push the toy you’re using as close as possible for direct contact. I am one of these people so I tend to find the right position and pressure before I even turn the toy on, to avoid any distractions later on.

In terms of noise, I think it sounds louder close-up than it actually is. I have had no problems using this with others in the next room providing the door was closed. I have pretty thin walls in my house and have not been overheard or felt uncomfortable using this toy, so I’d be happy to recommend it to people who require discretion or simply prefer quieter vibrators.

Overall, I think the Paris Nubby is a couple-friendly, budget-happy introduction to clitoral toys. I can’t find anything particularly off-putting or flawed with it, other than it not being quite as intense as I’d like. I think this would be a great toy to introduce to a new relationship or partner, as it’s not intimidating or phallic-like. It has some great points going for it such as it being made from a body-safe material, being aesthetically pleasing, being waterproof and most importantly, being easy to use and understand.
