Today’s review is a little bit different, as it’s not for a product that I’ve purchased myself, it’s for one that I actually made myself, with a little bit of help from Kink Craft. If you’re unsure of who Kink Craft are, then please allow me to introduce you. Kink Craft are doing something that has never been officially or properly done before, by offering you a place to learn how to make your own kinky toys. I’d never even considered making something of my own, but I think it’s a fantastic idea and could even be a great way to get beginners involved and feeling more comfortable with the kind of products available.
Now, I am not the most creative person in the world, but I was pleased to discover that you don’t need to be in order to get creative with Kink Craft. They provide you with all the information and materials that you will need. They offer video guides, instead of written instructions, which I find very helpful, as it means I can watch someone else doing it, whilst they’re explaining it, and even go over it numerous times if I have to. The course is even split into bite-sized sections, making it easier to find the information that you need.
My kit was sent out very quickly and discreetly as promised, arriving in a plain cardboard box. Inside, was a small box, complete with the Kink Craft logo. This box contained a silver metal O ring, electrical tape and two separate sets of paracord. One set black, the other blue. I had asked for the blue as I don’t have much of this colour in my collection, but this kit is available in purple, red and princess pink too. There was also a card with details of how to get to the video course, but silly old me forgot to photograph this.
To get the course, all you have to do is go to the Kink Craft website, add the course to your cart and use the code provided on the card (or inside of the box lid) and you’ll get the course for free. Once the course is in your account, it stays there, so you can re-do it or re-watch it whenever you want, as many times as you want.
The course is split up into 5 sections: Introduction, construction, wrapping the handle, preparing the falls and finishing. I was initially confused as the first video clip started as there were more separated pieces of paracord than I had before me, but a quick chat with the lovely Pixie and I realised I needed to measure and cut the lengths myself. This was pretty easy and everything after that was clear and concise, so there weren’t many confusions after that.
I don’t want to go into much detail about the process, as that’s all part of the fun, but I will say it’s very enjoyable and only takes around 30 minutes to do. My favourite part of making this flogger was definitely wrapping the handle, I honestly found it so relaxing that I could have easily done it for hours. My other half helped out with a couple of the steps and I think we did a pretty good job for our first attempt at being creative. I’m sure we will get better now that we have Kink Craft around to help!
What’s even more satisfying than making something of your own? Using it! I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flogger, with it being mini and handmade, but it certainly fooled me. It’s capable of light sensory sensations or short, sweet stings depending how you (or your partner/s) use it. As not all of the falls from my flogger end in the same place, this adds a bit of extra sensation to a session. I found a few fronds around the same length hit at the same time, then a few seconds later I’d get a sharper sting from the slightly out of line falls. I might actually prefer this to perfectly measured fronds of other floggers.
Overall, I’m really pleased with how my Kink Craft Mini Flogger turned out. It’s a functional flogging tool, that can produce a variety of sensations, making it suitable for all users, regardless of their spanking/flogging experience. It was really fun to make and I had a great time doing it. I had one or two hiccups along the way, but Kink Craft were happy to help out with any problems or questions that I had. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this kit to anyone, regardless of creativity skills, as this course is suitable for anyone and everyone. I have a few kinky friends that will definitely be getting these kits as gifts!
I would like to thank Kink Craft for sending me the Mini Flogger Kit (£8.00) free of charge in exchange for my review. No affiliate links have been used in this post.
