Review: Lovehoney Oh! Love Heart Clitoral Vibrator

Lovehoney Oh! Heart VibratorWhen the Lovehoney Oh! Love Heart Clitoral Vibrator turned up at my door, I was impressed. I love the way that the Oh! range is now packaged. It was presented in a simple, plain box with heart detailing. It’s feminine, like the product inside, but I’d also describe it as welcoming and friendly to beginners and couples. I think it would make a great gift for a first-time toy user, partner or friend. It’s perfect for a special occasion like Valentines or Anniversaries too.

It is made from a hot-pink, soft silicone with a metallic plastic band around the edges to hold the shape together. I do think this silver band cheapens the look of the product a little, but as it keeps the silicone seam free, I think I can forgive it. Every cloud has a literal silver lining it seems. I found that the material has quite a bit of drag to it, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I wouldn’t recommend using it without lubricant as the friction isn’t pleasant. As it’s made from silicone, water-based lubricant is what is recommended.

As for cleaning and care, I was met with a disappointment. It turns out that this vibrator is not waterproof. It is described as splashproof, which is a saying that I personally find redundant as something is either water-friendly or it’s not. If it had been made with a self-sealing silicone port like the Desire vibes, instead of being left with an open charging area, this annoyance could easily have been avoided. It might have hiked the price up slightly, but I think it would have been worth it. To be on the safe side I just avoid water altogether and use soap and a cloth or the Lovehoney Fresh wipes.

Unlike other reviews I have read, mine did not come with pre-existing charge so I had to do a full revamp before use. This was basically guesswork as it didn’t include a booklet with charge to play time ratio and the product description offered no clues either. It seemed to take about half an hour to forty-five minutes and I based this off the charging light. It has a small red heart that lights up and flashes whilst charging and steadies once complete. It almost looks like a beating heart, which is a nice touch.

The Lovehoney Oh! Heart Vibe is much smaller than I had imagined. I had pictured it being palm-sized like the Mimi Soft Touch or Nea 2, but it’s actually about half that size. It’s super cute. It would be ideal for someone who relies on discretion and wants something that is petite and easy to hide. It’s also ideal for somebody who wants a sex toy that doesn’t look like a sex toy (see also the lipstick vibrator from this range). It’s perfect for travelling with and can just be thrown into a bag to be taken on the go. If somebody came across it, I don’t think they’d look twice at it and would probably assume it’s a mirror or cosmetic product of some sort.

It operates via a singular button, simply tap once to begin the vibrations, tap again to cycle through the functions and press and hold for a few seconds to turn them off. The vibrator will turn itself off once you reach the end of the patterns, so if you accidentally miss the setting you want it can be a bit of a pain to get back to. It has ten options to decide from, three constant speeds and seven patterns. You all know that I’m not fond of patterns, so these haven’t seen any use from me, but I have tested them out in my hand to get a feel for the variety and it seems that there should be something for most pattern lovers.

As for the steady speeds, I think they pack a decent punch considering the size of this toy. I was impressed with the strength that they have managed to pack into something so small, but I personally could have used some extra intensity. I’m a power queen though, so I expected this to be the case. I can see those who aren’t so power inclined being happy with the amount of strength that it has, so it’s more of a personal preference rather than a fault with the product.

It can be used in a few different ways for various sensations. My preference is to hold it flat against the clitoris as I felt that the vibrations were the strongest in the top portion of the heart. It has a firm body, so I can use it with as much pressure as I like so that the vibrations will travel where I need them to be. The other way that I have used it is with the pointed tip pressed up against the clitoris. I think this is a good option for those who like precise contact, but in my case, the vibrations are too buzzy for me to enjoy it in this way.

Regarding noise, it’s not excessive. It sounds loud close-up because of the buzzy motor, but a duvet and closed-door is more than enough to disguise the noise that it makes. As with most vibrators, the noise dissipates somewhat upon contact with the body anyway. I’d be happy to recommend it to someone who’s looking for something unobtrusive.

Lovehoney Oh! Heart Vibrator

Overall, it’s not one of the best vibrators I’ve ever tried, but for what it is, I think it’s a pleasant toy. I cannot bring myself to orgasm with it, due to needing more intensity and less buzzy sensations, but I do think it can be fun for warming up and teasing. If you’re a power queen like myself, then I would suggest passing on this adorable gem and getting a Touch instead, but those who are less intensity driven you may find this is perfect for you.

I received the now discontinued Lovehoney Oh! Love Heart Clitoral Vibrator (£24.99) in exchange for my review. Thank you! Affiliate links have been used within this review.
