If you’ve ever read my blog, you’ll know that I love Sliquid. I am a huge fan of their products & am on a quest to try them all, to see if they’ll ever fail or disappoint me. I highly doubt this because out of the five I’ve tried so far, I’ve had nothing to complain about. They are my go-to for lubricants & a brand I recommend almost each & every time I’m asked for a suggestion. Keep reading to find out why I love their Organics Silk, or jump to the quick review if you just want a rundown of the key features.
I primarily like and support their products because they are free from nasties such as Glycerine, Parabens and Propylene Glycol, which are all ingredients that I like to stay away from where possible. Sliquid lubricants are 100% vegan friendly, cruelty-free, non-toxic and hypoallergenic. They have been formulated with a woman’s PH scale in mind, which make them some of the healthiest and safest products to use on your intimate areas. I’ve never used a Sliquid product that has irritated me or my partner and I’ve heard no complaints from others with sensitive skin either.
Organics Silk is a hybrid lubricant, which basically means it’s water-based with a mix of silicone. There is only 12% of silicone in this product, but the little that is there really makes all the difference from a simple water-based lubricant. This formula has been infused with botanical extracts that help to heal and support the body. It also features Vitamin E, Sunflower Seed and Green Tea which calm your skin before and after use.
I recently purchased a bottle of Sliquid Naturals Silk which is the non-organic, but very similar, hybrid lubricant from the Naturals line. I didn’t find that there was much difference between the two other than the list of ingredients and the Naturals version looks slightly whiter/milkier in appearance. It feels and works the same as the Organics, so I’d recommend both, based on which ingredients you prefer. The Organics version is still white, but it’s paler than I expected, which gives it a more natural look and feel. It’s odourless as the Naturals version is, but I can’t vouch for the taste of either of them. I wouldn’t recommend ingesting them or using them for oral sex.
The consistency of the Organics Silk is pretty much perfect for our needs, as it’s rather thick and rehydrating. My partner is on the large side, which can often cause discomfort for me, so products like this are a godsend. I struggle to produce enough natural lubricant due to medication and whilst Sliquid Satin is fabulous for this, it doesn’t last long enough during sex. It’s fine for masturbation as that is usually over quickly if I’m using the Tango or Rosa Rouge. When using the Organics Silk I’ve found it lasts the length of an average sex session (30 minutes) with my partner without needing to reapply. It still feels fresh after we’re finished most of the time. If I were to use this during sex with frequent position changing or longer than average timing, it may need one top up, but I’d prefer that than having to reapply every five or ten minutes. This product doesn’t evaporate into the skin like water-based lubricant does, so will require a rinse/wipe to remove once finished.
Overall, the Organics Silk is fantastic. It might not beat my beloved H20 as I can’t use it with sex toys, but it’s perfect for penetrative vaginal sex. It’s long-lasting, slick and has a wonderful consistency. I would definitely use it again. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a thick, high-quality, body-safe and chemical-free hybrid lubricant. You truly get what you pay for and this product is worth every penny.
