Review: Fun Factory Mr Boss Realistic Hybrid Vibrator

When Fun Factory released their hybrid range I was desperate to get my hands on one. I love rechargeable vibrators and find myself leaning towards them 95% of the time so battery-operated vibrators often get overlooked. With this, I have the option to recharge the batteries it comes with so I’m not constantly having to buy new ones or search the house for triple a’s in the heat of the moment. This is much friendlier to the environment and for that reason I think the Hybrid Kit is a must-have buy if you are purchasing the Darling Devil, Wicked Wings, Abby G, Diva Dolphin or the toy I’m reviewing today, Mr Boss.

Fun Factory use the same style of packaging for all of their products. It’s classic and simple with a hint of luxury thrown in. It has an outer cardboard sleeve showing off a glossy product shot over the top of a plain gold cardboard box. This opens to reveal the vibrator alongside a small user leaflet and the click-n-charge manual that comes with all of their rechargeable products. They don’t include any storage pouches, which is one of the only downsides to this brand.

Mr Boss doesn’t come with a charging cable as this is a battery-operated vibrator that needs to be combined with the above mentioned Hybrid Kit in order to become rechargeable. Following the instructions, I removed the base of the vibrator and inserted the two batteries from the kit as directed. I then placed the base back on and plugged the USB into my laptop. From there, I attached the magnetic clip on the cable to the corresponding prongs on the base and waited for the lights to turn on.

The minus button will have a blinking light to begin with. This indicates that the battery life is between 0 and 33%. When that light becomes steady, the blinking light will appear on the plus button. This means that the battery has reached between 33% and 66% charged. After this turns steady a final blinking light will appear on the fun button. This indicates a battery level of 66-99% charged. When the fun buttons light goes solid, the toy has reached 100%.

It is made from Fun Factory’s signature silicone, which is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and completely body-safe. I have noticed that their silicone tends to have a lot more drag (a rougher surface with more friction) than many other brands, so I would recommend being generous with the water based lubricant when using the Mr Boss or any of their other products. I would also recommend rinsing thoroughly before each use as this material attracts ridiculous amounts of lint and fluff. It’s fully waterproof so rinsing under warm water is not an issue and should be done afterwards with soap too.

To control the Mr Boss, press and hold the fun button for a couple of seconds to turn on. To explore the four intensities press the + button. After the highest intensity has been reached, the next tap of the + button takes you to the next function. There are six different vibration modes to choose from. I stick to the constant vibration setting as I personally find patterns off-putting. If you want to go back an intensity or function then press the – button. To turn off, press the fun button.

From the measurements given in the description on the Lovehoney website this sounded like a medium/average sized vibrator. It has eight and a half inches in overall length and six inches insertable. I thought that it looked quite slim upon arrival so I double checked the measurements myself and there is indeed five inches of girth around the widest point although I still think it looks less than. I’m not sure if this is due to the squish of the silicone, the tapered tip or the fact that I’m used to its older sibling, the Big Boss. I would be able to recommend it to those who are fairly new to toys and penetration as it’s not as thick or bulging as I expected.

Described as realistic, I expected more from this. It has a prominent head and some minimal texture around the base of the shaft but there is nothing going on in between. I personally would have liked to have seen some extra veins between the two for added sensation and realism. I’m not keen on overly realistic toys but I think this toy could have done with some added features. It looks almost half-hearted as it is and doesn’t offer much in terms of stimulation. The head has some definition to it which feels great upon insertion but the subtle texture of the shaft didn’t do anything for me as it wasn’t pronounced enough.

Fun Factory Mr Boss Hybrid Realistic Vibrator

It does have a gentle curve that follows the ridge under the head so I decided to give it a go in the hopes that it would stimulate the g-spot. I wasn’t expecting it to be the most successful encounter as the head has some squish to it, but when I got down to business and began thrusting with it, I noticed that it did have some firmness to it that was capable of hitting the right spots. If I do this motion in conjunction with some high intensity vibrations then I can orgasm fairly easily. I would say that the vibrations got buzzier as the intensity increased but not in an irritating, off-putting or numbing sort of way.

I then tried to use it clitorally but I didn’t have much success with it that way. It seems that most of the vibrations are focused in the lower portion of the shaft and don’t travel as well as I’d like so I have to awkwardly hold the shaft up against my clitoris to get a feel for the vibrations. It’s not the most comfortable or precise way to stimulate this zone so I ended up giving up. There was little to no chance of me being able to get off with this awkward positioning. I’ll be sticking to using the Mr Boss for internal use and hoping I can get my hands on one of their new dual stimulators for clitoral use.

Overall, I enjoyed using the Mr Boss but I think I prefer the larger version, the Big Boss. The Big Boss feels more realistic to me, has rumblier vibrations and the sensations travel through the shaft better. I do think that the Mr Boss has some great qualities and fantastic things going for it though. It offers vibrations at a nice frequency, at a quiet volume, with a range of different intensities and functions. It is comfortable to hold, easy to control, body-safe and easy to clean up. On top of all that it is eco-friendly. What’s not to like? If you are looking for a semi-realistic vibrator from a trusted brand that can offer the possibility of g-spot contact then I’d be happy to recommend this to you. If you prefer a step-up in size and more intense vibrations then I’d opt for the Big Boss instead.

You can purchase the Fun Factory Mr Boss Realistic Vibrator (£69.99) and the Fun Factory Hybrid Battery Kit (£17.99) from Lovehoney. I received both of these products free of charge in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!

Review: Toyfriend Nosy Silicone G-Spot Vibrator

When the opportunity arose to test the Toyfriend Nosy for Betty’s Toy Box, I happily volunteered. I was extremely intrigued by the shape and dimensions of this vibrator and the colour caught and captured my full attention. I am so used to seeing pinks, purples and blacks in this industry so when I come across something bright and beautiful like this I get really excited. It comes in a cute sunshine yellow and happens to be the first toy in my ever-expanding collection that comes in this shade. I dig it. It also happens to be the first toy I’ve tried from this brand. All I knew about Toyfriend beforehand was that they were made by Tickler, the Swedish brand associated with the founder of Lelo.

It arrives in a white and yellow cardboard box with a cut out viewing window in the front. It’s simplistic and plain, but does the job of protecting the item inside. The back of the box offered a description, some instructions for use and basic care directions. Inside, I found the Nosy in some plastic casing alongside a small leaflet that introduces the various Toyfriend models. This product does not come with any storage so be sure to pick some up separately to keep it in great condition.

Non-toxic, latex free, phthalate free and hypoallergenic, the Nosy meets all of my body-safe criteria. It’s made from silicone which is notorious for having some resistance and creating a bit of a dragging sensation, but it’s pretty minimal on this vibrator. I only found drag occurring around the embossed brand name on one side of the shaft as the rest is very smooth, soft and well polished leaving little to no friction. Toyfriend recommend using water based lubricant with the Nosy anyway, so this would reduce the drag if it were there. It’s waterproof so can be rinsed with warm soapy water after each use and left to dry naturally. Just be sure that the battery compartment is in place tightly first.

This is a battery operated vibrator that takes two triple a’s. These surprisingly come included, which makes a nice change, and these are placed inside the toy upon arrival. All that you need to do is remove the piece of paper inside the compartment then screw the base back on. On the base there is a singular button that controls all of the toys operation. Press once to start the vibrations, tap again to cycle through the functions and press and hold to turn off.

There are five functions to choose from. Two constant speeds of differing intensities and three patterns. As usual, the patterns were not for me. I find them buzzy, off-putting and generally not my thing but I can vouch for the constant speeds being fun. I had no idea what to expect in terms of strength, but I definitely thought it would be less than it was. It starts out on the stronger intensity which is powerful straight out of the gate and probably just over average. I’m a power queen that can struggle with battery operated vibrators as they often don’t have the motor power I need, but I do think the Nosy has great strength for the type of batteries it takes. Its vibrations travel well throughout the entire shaft although there are two points that are most obvious. Lower portion of the shaft and the head. The strength between them isn’t as strong but I think that’s due to the bend.

Toyfriend Nosy Silicone G-Spot VibratorIf I follow the curve of the shaft then there is 8.6 inches of overall length. This gives me around 6.5 inches of usable length with just enough room remaining to grip onto. The head has a maximum girth of around 3.7 inches at the widest point and the shaft has a consistent width of 4.3 inches. The head is usually the widest point of a g-spot vibrator which makes this toy a bit different, but it doesn’t stop it from being any better or worse than other styles.

I decided to try this for clitoral play before I used it internally as I thought the head resembled a pebble shape which has seemed to work for me in the past. It offers a smooth tapered tip that can provide some precision, albeit not as much as a bullet could, but enough for me to get something from it. The Nosy is firm and inflexible which makes it very easy to get a good amount of pressure and grind the toy into the pubic mound for maximum contact and stimulation. The vibrations felt good clitorally and I was able to get my rocks off although it did take a while. I personally need more intensity for clitoral stimulation than I do for vaginal, so being able to orgasm in this way gave me high hopes for the internal stuff.

You may have noticed that the shape of the Toyfriend Nosy is very unusual. It’s not your typical g-spot vibrator that features a bit of a bulbed head and subtle curve. It reminds me of a couples vibrator actually. If I place this next to the Partner then I think the tip and curve of the Nosy look similar to the shape of the external arm and bend on the Partner. It’s definitely different, unique and unusual so I was excited to put it to the test. I inserted it with the head pointing up towards to my g-spot and noticed that the part of the toy where the curve ends and the shaft begins is exactly when I feel the toy find it. It is an odd-looking device but contours to my anatomy very well.

Toyfriend Nosy Silicone G-Spot VibratorIf I rock the top portion of the shaft (which I like to refer to as the hook as it kind of resembles one) back and forth gently then the firmness of the head almost melts into my g-spot. It gets all the right pleasure spots and provides a perfect amount of pressure. I’d consider it to be more of an internal massage than a battering into oblivion which is something like the nJoy Pure Wand would do. It is a gentle experience and subtle seducer but it is definitely pleasurable and almost effortless to use. I don’t have to move it much to benefit so it’s ideal for a lazy masturbation session.

I may have more powerful vibrating insertables in my collection but that doesn’t mean this one is incapable of doing its job. I can reach an orgasm with it. Admittedly, it doesn’t give me super strong or intense orgasms nor does it make me squirt, but it does give some relief. It’s a quick burst of pleasure rather than a drawn out finale which is my preference for internal stuff. I prefer my quick release clitorally so the way that this worked with my body was sort of mixed up. If I could have climaxed from using it clitorally at a faster pace and had a longer but stronger orgasm internally then it would have been perfect for me.

Overall, I think the Toyfriend Nosy is a decent sex toy but we have different habits. It’s not quite the right product for my body, my preferences or the circumstances I like to masturbate in. That doesn’t make it a bad product though. We can’t all be compatible with every sex toy or we’d find them boring and predictable. I do think this would be a good choice for people who prefer quick bursts of internal pleasure after a slow build up, people who are still exploring their g-spot preferences and people who have weak wrists or joints and aren’t able to thrust much. If you like bright colours, quiet vibrators, unusual shapes and soft silicone on top of all that then this may be a dream come true for you. If you’d rather have the gradual build up followed by explosions of strong orgasms that leave you shivering for ten minutes afterwards then I would look elsewhere.

You can purchase the Toyfriend Nosy ($53.99/£41.38) from Betty’s Toy Box. I received this product free of charge in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!

Review: Broad City Precious Package Love Egg

When I heard the news that Lovehoney were going to be launching a Broad City sex toy collection at ANME, I was rather surprised. I had never expected or even thought about a collaboration between a sex toy company and a mainstream tv channel like Comedy Central before, but the surprise was a welcome one. My partner and I love to curl up at the end of the day and watch an episode or two of Broad City before engaging in an evening of fun and intimacy so this range seemed perfectly suited to us. If you’re a fan of the show like us then this range will be right up your street, but there should be something suitable for everyone who’s fond of bright and colorful sex toys.

Broad City Precious Package Love Egg VibratorThe packaging for this range is one of the first things that got my attention. It’s clean, clear and full of bright colours and sass. It definitely tickles my fancy and is super on point branding wise. The Precious Package Love Egg arrived in a white cardboard sleeve that had Broad City written across the top and image of the two stars of the show, Abbi and llana near the bottom. The back showed another picture of the pair along with some of their quotes and some basic product information regarding batteries, materials and cleaning.

I quite like the appearance of this love egg although I would have preferred it if there had been no pink involved. The controller is mostly black with a splash of pink detailing around the buttons, which actually looks great, and it reads ‘Carpe Dayum’ on the front and Broad City on the back. Attached to the controller is a medium length wire that connects to the bright pink egg. It’s not as in-your-face as the packaging or some of the other products from this collection, but it’s not the most basic design either. The only thing outside of the pink that I wasn’t crazy about was the seam on the egg. It felt noticeable at times if I’d scrimped on the lube.

Precious Package is made from a PU coated ABS Plastic. This coating makes the surface extremely smooth to the touch and reduces any drag that the plastic would ordinarily have. It feels almost matte-like and attracts barely any lint, dust or pet hair. I wouldn’t say that lubricant is essential during use as the egg is pretty petite, but for beginners or people who don’t produce much natural lubrication, a slather of the water-based bottled stuff may make insertion more comfortable and reduce the feel of the seam. After use, simply rinse off the egg and wash with soapy water. Don’t wet the controller though. This should just be wiped down as deemed necessary.

Broad City Precious Package Love Egg VibratorBattery wise, this toy takes two double A’s and these are placed inside the controller. Simply unscrew the base, place inside the compartment as directed and screw the base back on firmly. I found it easy to remove and replace which was unusual as these compartments are often stiff.

To start the vibrations press the up arrow on the remote. You can tap this button four times to take you throw the four available settings. The lights will turn on beside the numbers on the control panel to indicate which setting is being used. To cycle back down the vibrations or turn the toy off press the down arrow.

I have had a couple of Lovehoney’s wired love eggs before (this BASICS one and this Power Play one) and had been reasonably impressed on those occasions so I hoped this one would be on the same wavelength. The first setting was a good start. It was a tiny bit rumbly and very low-pitched but not tickle-like or weak in terms of intensity. It starts to pick up in strength from setting two but this is where the vibrations also start to become buzzy. I thought the last setting was hand-numbingly high frequency so I couldn’t even attempt to use this clitorally as I knew it would desensitize me and leave my clit tingling in the wrong ways.

Broad City Precious Package Love Egg VibratorThe egg was easy to insert as its small and slim so I think it should be more than manageable for beginners to sex toys or people who are completely new to vaginal penetration. It has a maximum girth of 3.4 inches and just 3 inches of length, which makes it a great option for newcomers. It also has a rounded tip to make insertion and wear comfortable. It’s a traditionally oval-shaped egg with no curves to it, do it doesn’t hit any internal sweet spots for me, but it does provide some good old vaginal stimulation which can be just as fun.

I have to admit that the Precious Package is not the strongest egg on the market and probably not even one of the strongest of its category, but I can see where it may have its place in a collection. I personally struggled to orgasm with it on its own so I asked my partner for assistance.

Broad City Precious Package Love Egg VibratorHe blindfolded me and took control of the remote which instantly improved the feel of the vibrations. I felt that being blindfolded increased my sensitivity and heightened the sensation to make the vibrations feel better than they usually would. There’s also the added excitement of not knowing what setting he’s going to use or whether he’s going to incorporate something else into the mix.

I believe the anticipation is what made the end result possible. I did end up reaching orgasm on those occasions that I was blindfolded with my partner in control so I’d say that this toy is definitely more of a couples experience for us than a solo use vibrator. The thrill was all in the tease. The vibrations just weren’t enough for me on their own, possibly because of the buzziness, so this toy didn’t really work without the element of surprise and suspense. It may be different for the non-power queens of the world and I’d love to hear about it if so, but I personally won’t be using it to masturbate with.

Broad City Precious Package Love Egg VibratorOverall, I like the aesthetics of the Precious Package, the branding is on point and it has easy to use controls, but it didn’t have the right frequency for me to enjoy the vibrations alone. If they had been deeper and not so high-pitched then it may have been another story. I’d be happy to recommend this to couples wanting to explore toys together, wanting some foreplay fun or simply wanting to explore something gentle as an introduction, but the rechargeable toys in this range may be better suited to the more initiated toy users.

Review: Broad City Tuesday 7am Classic Vibrator

When I heard the news that Lovehoney would be introducing a Broad City sex toy collection at ANME, I was quite surprised. I never expected a collaboration between a sex toy company and Comedy Central, or any other tv channel for that matter, but the surprise was a welcome one. My partner and I love to sit and chill together on an evening and watch an episode or two of this show, then follow it up with a night of buzzing and intimacy, so this range seemed very well suited to us. If you’re a fan of Broad City or simply a lover of bright and colorful sex toys then there should be something suitable in this range for you too.

Broad City Tuesday 7am Classic VibratorThe packaging for this collection was one of the first things that caught my attention. It’s clean, bright and full of sass. That combination is right up my street and definitely tickles my fancy. The Tuesday 7am Classic Vibrator arrived in a white cardboard sleeve with Broad City written across the top and an image of the two stars of the show, Abbi and llana, near the bottom. The back of the sleeve showed another picture of the pair along with some quotes from the show and basic product information regarding materials, cleaning and batteries.

I had specifically asked for this toy because of the gorgeous colouring. It’s not often enough that I come across funky sky blue sex toys so when I spot one, my head just zones in on it and I don’t care what it is, I just have to have it. There’s pink writing on each side, one reads Tuesday 7am and the other side reads Broad City. In terms of how it looks overall, I was pretty pleased with it although I would have rather have had no pink whatsoever. Just for a change.

The Tuesday 7am is made from a smooth plastic so has little to no drag to it. It is advised to use water-based lubricant with it anyway, so I did as suggested. I really didn’t need to use more than a small pump or two as the drag is non-existent and its girth is slim. It glided in pretty easily with just my natural lubrication levels, but this obviously differs from person to person depending on a multitude of reasons. Either way, I think it should be manageable for beginners to sex toys as long as they can insert a finger comfortably.

Broad City Tuesday 7am Classic VibratorBattery operated vibrators seem to be very prevalent in the Broad City collection and this one requires two double A’s. These are not included. To insert them simply unscrew the base and place inside the compartment as directed then screw the base back on. It’s important that its placed back in position tightly or the toy will no longer be waterproof. As it is compatible with water you can take it in the bath or shower for aqua related adventures or easily clean it with warm soapy water after use.

No buttons or control panels are needed to operate this toy as it has a dial built into the base. Turn it clockwise to begin the vibrations and continue twisting until you reach full intensity. Turn it anti clockwise to decrease vibrations and turn off. The downside to a dial control means that the vibrator can only emit one single speed at a few different strengths. I prefer constant speeds to patterns so this works out fine for me, but if you prefer a variety of functions then the Yas Kween Bullet Vibrator may be a better fit for you.

Broad City Tuesday 7am Classic VibratorI hadn’t tried a new classic vibrator since the Dr Feelgood back in October, so I wanted to see whether the Tuesday 7am would get me back on board the classic vibe train and take me to orgasm city or whether it would leave me with broad disappointment. Classic vibrators can be used in two main ways. Internally or externally. And when I say internal, I mean vaginal use only. There’s no flared base on a classic vibrator to stop it from traveling into the depths of the anus, so please don’t even consider it. It’s super unsafe.

This makes them versatile and great for traveling with as they’re a two for one sort of package deal. It doesn’t matter whether you’re craving clitoral or vaginal play as this can do either. I decided to try external use first to get a feel for the vibrations, so I applied a touch of lube to myself and the toy for comfort and pressed it up against the spot. I turned the vibrations up to full intensity as I need max power for clitoral stimulation and was surprised that the vibrations weren’t horribly buzzy. I was expecting your average surface level sensations, but that’s not exactly what I got. I wouldn’t call the vibrations rumbly either, just sort of in between and half decent. I could use more strength, which doesn’t surprise me at all, but I can still reach an orgasm if given ten minutes of constant use with firm pressure. That’s not bad for a battery operated vibrator and a fussy clitted power queen.

Internally, I’m not as demanding when it comes down to the strength of my vibrations so I knew this would be fine for that purpose. It has a tapered tip that doesn’t look too pointed or stabby and it wasn’t. It doesn’t poke out at my cervix or cause me any discomfort. Sensation wise, there’s no curve to the shaft so g-spot play was out of the question and I was left to explore regular vaginal stimulation. I can’t climax from insertables alone usually, although I do think toys like this have a place in my collection for warming up to dildos or PIV. It’s not a toy I’d ever use for a solid masturbation session as it simply couldn’t wow me, but someone who loves internal stimulation and doesn’t need a jackhammer may think it’s wonderful.

Broad City Tuesday 7am Classic VibratorLoud was what I was expecting from this battery-operated motor with a hard plastic exterior, but I’d put it at about average in terms of noise. It’s nothing that a closed bedroom door and a bit of background music couldn’t disguise. It’s not as quiet as a rechargeable toy would be, but it’s not excruciatingly loud by any means. I think it’d be fine for people who need some discretion as long as their situation allows for a level of background noise like the radio or tv.

Overall, I think the Tuesday 7am Vibrator would be a nice tool for beginners. It’s not intimidating in terms of packaging, aesthetics or dimensions and the power is not too intense or overwhelming. I liked it for clitoral use but for me personally it didn’t do much as an internal stimulator. The vibrations alone weren’t enough to get me off, but maybe some extra width and an added clitoral vibrator would have helped. I think this is a toy that’s going to be used to start sessions, but never one that will the finish the job. That may make it redundant for some people, but I’ll get some use from it. It’s never going to be my favourite though as it’s just an average classic vibrator with cute branding.

Review: Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet

Back when I first heard about the Tokidoki x Lovehoney collection, I didn’t know much about the brand or what they sold. I decided to do some research and discovered that Tokidoki make a whole plethora of products based around their own adorable characters. Cute and colourful items are all over their website, so of course the sex toys were made to match. I love this because the products aren’t just limited to pink and purple tones. I don’t mind a hot pink vibrator on some occasions, but other times I want blue and red, and thanks to Tokidoki, I can now do that. I think I only own one other red toy out of the 200+ plus I own, so I was pretty excited to get my hands on this third-generation mini bullet.

Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet VibratorThe packaging follows the same theme and style as that of the past two series. It has remained true to branding and is decorated entirely with their famous characters and other adorable things. The bullet protrudes through a cut-out window in the front of a cardboard sleeve, safely secured within some plastic casing. It can be a bit of a pain to get out, so keep some scissors on hand. I think this packaging is lovely and simple, but it’s nice enough that it could be given as a gift as is.

Once I had the bullet removed from the packaging I gave it a once over. I found no faults with the build design, but I did find a love for the design. It’s my favourite of the three bullets that I have from this range so far. The Jolly Roger is made from a robust, body-safe plastic and is very soft to the touch. It has a velvet-like finish because of the coating that has been used on the plastic. It is recommended to use a splashing of water-based lubricant with this toy although I didn’t feel like I had to use much as the material has basically no drag.

Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet VibratorIt’s operated via a single triple A battery which is inserted by unscrewing the cap of the bullet and placing inside the compartment as directed. It’s essential for the cap to be screwed back into position firmly to ensure that the vibrator functions properly and remains completely waterproof. As it is water-friendly, it can be used in the bath or shower and cleaned easily after use. Just add a drop of toy cleaner or soap and rinse off.

As I have tried a couple of these bullet vibrators now I had a good idea of what to expect regarding the power and type of the vibrations. I wouldn’t class them as lacklustre or unimpressive, but there is only the one speed which limits play options. I usually associate single-speed vibrators with the cheap kind that you can buy for less than £5 that provide barely there buzzing, but these Tokidoki bullets are different. Instead of tickle-like, boring vibrations, these bullets offer a decently powered speed. I may be a power queen by default who relies on strength to get her rocks off, but these bullets can get me off if I leave them pressed against me for long enough.

You may now be wondering how something that’s powered by a single battery can please a girl who likes her power straight from the socket and to be honest, so am I. I don’t have any answers. It’s rare for me to orgasm with vibrators like this, but I can get there if I’m patient. It does take quite a while, but it’s not impossible to reach the end result. I can’t say that the orgasm is the most intense, satisfying kind that I’ve received either, but hey, an orgasm is still an orgasm. If I press the Jolly Roger against my clitoral hood then I could orgasm in about fifteen minutes and directly against the clitoris could take about ten minutes. This is long for me as I prefer fast-paced clitoral climaxes, so I wouldn’t use this bullet in the heat of a give-me-an-orgasm-now moment, but it’s ideal for prolonged play or multiple orgasms.

Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet VibratorThe only thing that I’m not particularly fond of is the buzziness of the vibrations. I don’t feel that the Tokidoki bullets reach below the surface as a rumbly vibrator like the Tango would, but it’s not so high-pitched that it becomes numbing. I have a strong preference for rumbles or at least a motor that is somewhere between the two, but this is definitely on the buzzy side. It does not make me hypersensitive, tingly or numb though so I will happily use it every once in a while.

My partner (who happens to be more sensitive than me) does not mind buzzy vibrations. I think he actually prefers them, and for that reason, he gets on incredibly well with the Tokidoki bullets. I think he’d have the entire collection of them if I’d let him. He likes it when I place the Jolly Roger (with some pressure) against his glans during a hand job or against his nipples during a blowjob or some of kind of penetrative sex. He can also use them on himself during masturbation. He says that these bullet vibrators bring him to climax faster than some of our other bullets as the strength is perfect for him.

Tokidoki x Lovehoney Jolly Roger Bullet VibratorNoise wise, the Jolly Roger is quite fair down on the scale. It’s not completely silent, but I’ve never used a vibrator that is. I think this is one of the closest things to it though. It does sound louder up close due to the buzzing of the motor, hardly surprising, but it can’t be heard from outside of the closed bedroom door. I think this bullet would make a great choice for someone who relies on discretion because of their privacy preferences or living situation.

Overall, I’d be happy to recommend the Jolly Roger to anyone, regardless of anatomy. In our experiences, the power is decent enough to bring us to separate orgasms despite having polar opposite tastes in vibrations. It can be used in multiples ways, making it highly versatile, and it’s also hand-held which is great for easy storing and travelling. I can definitely see why more designs of these cute bullets have been added as they are such fun, effective models for those looking for something a bit different. They are non-intimidating, couple-friendly and perfect for anyone who’s a fan of the kawaii scene. Tokidoki x Lovehoney is not a range that will appeal to all age groups and tastes, but for the market it’s aimed at, I can see why it’s successful.
