Review: Tenga Egg Lovers Valentines Pack

It’s not often that I win things but I got lucky in more than one way this past Feb 14th. Tenga set a Twitter giveaway to win one of their Lovers Valentines Packs and I happened to be one of the chosen ones on this occasion. My partner had not tried any sort of masturbation toy outside of vibrators at this point, but he has registered interest in trying some Tenga products, so we were both really pleased to have won. I was particularly happy as I’d read a lot of reviews for this lovers heart texture egg and we were to be in possession of five.

Tenga Egg Lovers Valentines PackThe pack arrived in a brown patterned box with the product name on the front. There was no directions for use or anything like that on the box but these toys are pretty self-explanatory I think. There were five eggs inside the box, all of which have the Lovers texture. The wrapping for each egg was different to the regular presentation of this particular product and I thought a couple of them were very striking. I liked the red lips pattern and the love you text pattern. Both are perfect for a romantic occasion and I’d love to see them return next year.

Tenga’s masturbators are made from TPE, which is probably the least offensive material that they could choose outside of silicone. I’d obviously prefer silicone, but as these are for external use only, we don’t mind too much. I don’t think silicone masturbators have as much stretch, nor are they so versatile, which makes TPE the only real option to use. It does set our minds at rest knowing that Tenga is a trusted brand within this industry and they are known for making their products non-toxic. These eggs are still porous so are not completely body safe but as they are designed to be thrown away after a couple of uses, this isn’t too concerning for us.

Tenga Egg Lovers Valentines PackTo use, open the wrapping from the bottom as directed to reveal a brown plastic egg. This outer casing then pops open to reveal the textured sleeve inside. There’s an insert inside the toy containing a sachet of lubricant and I assume this also holds the eggs shape as it’s packaged away. Remove the insert and pour the contents of the sachet into the egg. It can be a bit messy on the first attempt, but once you’ve done it a couple of times it becomes second nature, kinda like riding a bike, but sexier.

So, how are these used? Well, he pinches the tip of the stroker as he places it on his penis (as he would do with a condom) and then rolls it down over his head. My partner is uncut so he found that best results for comfort and sensation were achieved when he pulled his foreskin back a little bit to reveal his very sensitive glans. He then glides it up and down his shaft, following the motions that he’d do to himself when having a wank. He said that the texture was pleasurable and got him to an orgasm faster than usual. We enjoyed having these on hand to change-up his masturbation techniques and prevent him falling back into his death grip style of jerking off.

Tenga Egg Lovers Valentines PackI have also used these on him by placing one over the head and twisting it up and down the shaft in a circular motion. He said that this technique rubs over his coronal ridge with each twist and feels fantastic. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him squirm quite like this. It was very hot for me to watch and it certainly made giving a handjob more interesting for the both of us. The only negative thing I can think of is the squelching noise it makes because of the lube/material/speed combination.

We also tried one of these eggs for another purpose. I had seen another blogger, although the name has slipped my mind at the time of writing, who used one of these sleeves over the head of a magic wand. I thought this was a brilliant idea and simply had to test it out for myself. I found a wand with a plastic head as I didn’t want any of my silicone wands to be potentially damaged by the TPE and placed it over the top. I turned on the vibrations and pressed the textured sleeve up against my clitoris. The heart-shaped nubs rubbed against that sweet spot as the vibrations got to work and this made for a very unique, pleasurable experience. I’m not sure I’d be able to tell the differences between textures with this method, but I will probably try it again and see.

Tenga Egg Lovers Valentines PackOverall, I think the Tenga Egg Lovers Valentines Pack was an absolute blessing to our sex life. These eggs were one of the first toys that my partner tried and he will definitely want to get some more of these for our toybox. I think he is very interested in trying some other textures soon, so I’m thinking Stepper or Thunder may be the next best thing. Tenga Eggs are great for on the go use/travelling as they are small, discreet and come with their own lube.

Review: Icicles No 37 Textured Glass Butt Plug

I own several butt plugs now and most of them could be classed as small and beginner like, so I decided it was time to branch out. I saw the intermediate sized Icicles No 37 pop up on Lovehoney and knew it would the perfect plug to up my game with. It’s made from my favourite material, has some glorious looking texture and is a touch longer than the other plugs I have. All of these factors made this plug stand out to me and although I’m not crazy about Pipedream, the brand behind Icicles, affordable glass can be hard to find and I like to review sexy things at a variety of price points.

Icicles No 37 Glass Butt PlugIt arrived in the simplistic packaging that is typical of the Icicles range. It’s rather classy considering the manufacturer and I’m pretty happy with it. The front of the box shows off an image of the product and pulls open to reveal the plug behind a window of plastic. Inside, the Icicles No 37 is protected by a layer of foam casing. It’s somewhat disappointing that Pipedream don’t include storage bags with this range as glass needs to be secured safely to avoid chips and the boxes are too bulky.

The box also gives some care instructions inside/on the back, but there’s some questionable areas of text. I have to strongly disagree with their suggestions for changing the temperature as they list the microwave and freezer as options. Nope. Please don’t do either of those things. Microwaves can create heat spots and freezers could lead to potential awkward and painful sticking of the anus to the product. Neither of those would be fun. Stick to safe methods such as the fridge or placing it in a bowl of water that’s at your desired temperature. I personally like to chill mine for twenty minutes or so.

One bonus of glass as a material is that it can be used with any type of lubricant as there are no concerns about material degradation. I like to use silicone based as these tend to be slicker. Glass is non-toxic, non-porous, odourless, hypoallergenic and completely body safe. You can even place it in the dishwasher for a thorough clean. This is particularly important if more than one person intends to use the plug and should be done before changing hands (or anuses). I use soap and water for everyday cleaning, but will run it through the dishwasher once a month for a more in-depth clean. I also use an old toothbrush to remove any fluids harboring around the nodules.

Having heard one or two horror stories about butt plugs with not-so-sturdy finger loops, the very first thing I did was give this one a test run. I’m pleased to report that this one feels very secure and safe to use. I twisted, pulled and tugged to the harshest of my abilities and there were no signs of trauma to the glass or loosening of the finger loop. The rest of the No 37 seemed sufficiently well made too as there were no imperfections whatsoever. Sometimes this happens with hand-blown glass massagers, but not this one. It’s basically perfect aesthetically.

Icicles No 37 Glass Butt PlugAfter slathering the bulb and neck with lube, I carefully inserted the plug. It went in without much resistance and felt comfortable throughout because of the tapered tip. I have taken toys like the Tantus Flurry in my butt previously and have had anal sex with my larger than average partner, so the dimensions were fine for me. I wouldn’t recommend it to somebody who has no anal experience though. It’s still a fairly small plug but it’s bigger than the beginners plugs on the market. It has an insertable length of four inches and a girth of four and a half inches.

One thing that I discovered about this plug quite early on was the lack of difference between the circumference of the bulb and circumference of the neck. There’s not much change at all which means that this butt plug is capable of slipping out on occasion. It has happened to me twice thus far and both times were during penetrative sex. As a result, I don’t feel that I can recommend this as a plug that can be worn during vigorous sex unless you have a spare hand to hold onto the base. That might be a bit of a mood killer and frustration though. In our experience, the Icicles No 37 is better suited to slower love-making and solo sessions.

Icicles No 37 Glass Butt PlugI thought it was great for masturbation sessions and this is where it shined for me. I found that thrusting in and out, regardless of pace, allowed me to make the most of those delicious raised nodules. I can really feel and appreciate this texture when I maneuver the plug and it feels divine. It’s not what I’d call extreme, but it’s not subtle either. It has an ideal amount of intensity for its size and it feels wonderful. If you’ve ever tried the Lovehoney Nubby and liked it, this plug would be a great choice for you as the texture is similar.

Another fun method for solo play was gentle rotation. I’d hold onto the loop and gently twist the plug in circular motions. Lovehoney mentioned this in their product description and it worked well for me, although I don’t know if I’d describe it as feeling like oral like they did. It was pleasurable for me though. If I wore the plug without any sort of movement then the texture wasn’t very noticeable. It could only be truly felt during insertion and removal. I wanted more than that. Playing with the No 37 allows the texture to become prevalent again and included in the build-up to orgasm. If I combine thrusting or rotation with a clit vibe then I can get off quite easily.

Overall, I think the Icicles No 37 is a good quality, inexpensive plug that’s ideal for intermediate anal players. If the bulb has been a little wider then I think it would have stayed in easier during sex, but this isn’t a major problem as there are workarounds. Holding onto the base, restricting use to slower sex or holding it back for masturbation/solo sessions are all viable options. I personally like option three best and have found it most successful. I’d be happy to recommend this plug to people who like relatively intense texture, temperature play and medium-sized butt plugs.

Review: Coco de Mer Double Pleasure Artisan Glass Dildo

When I saw the Coco de Mer Double Pleasure Artisan Glass Dildo for the first time, I fell in love. I couldn’t justify spending so much money on a dildo that didn’t look as though it offered anything special other than branding and perhaps being well annealed, so I simply added it to my wish list and waited prayed for a sale. I was browsing the Coco de Mer site recently and noticed it was 50% off, which was good enough for me. £80 seemed more reasonable than £170. It’s still the most expensive piece of glass I’ve ever purchased, but I’m really glad to have it in my collection.

All Coco orders are picked, packed and passed to Royal Mail from Lovehoney’s warehouse, so are as discreet as a regular Lovehoney order is. The only difference is that Coco orders are all wrapped beautifully within burgundy tissue paper that is then sealed with a Coco sticker. There’s no outer packaging for the dildo itself, which is disappointing considering it’s so expensive, bubble wrap and a layer of foam to protect the toy is about as good as it gets.

The Double Pleasure Glass Dildo is made from super-strong borosilicate glass and feels extremely sturdy. It seems to be crafted beautifully and is absolutely immaculate in terms of quality. There are no faults I can find with the build at all. Being made from glass means that this toy can be used with any type of lubricant that you wish, although I wouldn’t recommend using water-based if you’re going to use it in the shower as it will be diluted/washed away by the water. I usually opt for Lovehoney’s Slick Silicone Lubricant in the shower and Coco de Mer Divine Glow in the bedroom. Glass is fully waterproof so is super easy to clean with toy cleaner and a rinse, although sometimes fluids can get caught in the texture, so I like to leave an old toothbrush near by just in case a further clean is necessary.

One reason that I adore glass so much is because it’s a completely body-safe, non-porous, non-toxic and hypoallergenic material that can be chilled or warmed up for versatile temperature play. I personally prefer my glass to be chilled, but warm dildos can be enticing on occasion. I usually opt to leave the toy in a bowl of water of my chosen temperature for around 20 minutes or so before use, but you could also place it in the fridge if you wish.

This might be the largest glass toy I own standing at 10.5 inches with an insertable length of 10 inches. Depending on how generous my cervix is feeling, I can comfortably take seven inches vaginally, but I’ve found most of my glass toys are this length in total providing only 4 or 5 inches of insertable material to work with. I really appreciate the extra length of this toy as it means I can make the most of the seven insertable inches I crave with a well-needed gripping space for my hands to rest whilst manoeuvering the toy. It has just 4.25 inches of girth at the widest point, which means that this toy is slimline, comfortable and should be manageable for the majority of people.

As you may have guessed by the name of this dildo, it’s double-ended, which makes it twice as fun as a regular glass dildo. I prefer my glass to be dual ended because it simply offers versatility, which keeps my interest peaked for longer. You can use this toy alone or with a partner, although I don’t think it can be used on two people at the same time due to the S shape, a C shape is probably much better for this purpose. Dual dildos like this one have two different textured ends, which offer completely different stimulation and although I found this dildo provided stimulation of the same sort, each end provided sensations in a totally different way.

I opted for the nubby textured end first, as this seemed to be the most appealing to me, maybe because I love the Lovehoney Nubby, or maybe it just simply felt the best of the two, I’m not sure. It turned out that I was right about this end and this is now my preference when I come to use this toy. The texture of the Double Pleasure feels much gentler than that of the Nubby, due to the texture being less defined. It still provides great stimulation though, in similar ways that the Nubby does. This side feels great when rubbed against the clitoris prior to insertion and once it’s inside, my walls seem to fold around the texture and never want to release it. It provides such a glorious internal massage whilst hitting my g-spot simultaneously and the combination of the two sends my eyes rolling back into my head.

I opt to thrust with this end as I find that’s the most comfortable and beneficial way of using it, I find that the texture combined with the firm pressure it places against my G-spot is enough to bring me to an orgasm pretty fast. I like to clench around the dildo as I slide it in and out quickly, feeling each bit of the texture as the pressure mounts against the delicateness of my g-spot. I have been able to squirt when using this end of the toy and overall I find it the most satisfying of the two. I don’t need a clitoral vibrator to get off with this side of the Double Pleasure, but I do when using the other end.

The other end is undulating and bulbed, with the same rounded head as the nubbed side, which makes insertion very uncomfortable. I noticed immediately that this end wasn’t as stimulating, which is possibly because there’s not much size difference between the bulbs and I spoiled myself with the heavier textured end first. It still felt marvellous though as it still hit my g-spot with fantastic precision. Without the help of some internal bliss like the nodules provided, I couldn’t orgasm alone with this so I involved my trusty Tango and begun thrusting. I soon realised thrusting wasn’t the way to go and twisting is actually the best method for this end. When I twist the toy, I begin to notice the raised bulbs which increases stimulation and stirs me on to keep going for the finale. I do find myself craving for the nubby texture again as I get closer to orgasm though.

I found a better way to make use of this side and that is for a completely different kind of stimulation. This toy is long enough that I can use it to find and torment my a-spot. I’ve recently begun experimenting more with stimulating this area and am finding that the more I practice, the more I enjoy it. I was worried that the Double Pleasure might miss and end up hitting my cervix, but so far (and touch wood) this hasn’t happened yet. I’m yet to be disappointed by the intense a-spot stimulation I get from this toy and think it’s going to make regular appearances as I discover more about this sensitive spot and what it enjoys. As I thrust this toy towards the direction of my a-spot, I notice a buzz building up inside me, my blood beginning to rush to the surface and a very sudden sensitivity. This is closely followed by what I can only describe as a mind-blowing climax.

Coco de Mer Double Pleasure Glass Artisan Dildo 3Overall, I’ve had a lot of enjoyment from the Double Pleasure so far and I think there’s plenty more where that came from. I really enjoy the variety of sensations and I adore the ample length, slim girth and gratifying texture. It’s a high-quality and well made handblown glass piece, although I don’t think it’s worth the bank-breaking price tag. It might be Coco branded and handmade, but I think £120 would be the most I’d pay for this.

Review: Icicles No 8

If you read my review for the Scarlet Rouge Hot and Cold Subscription Box, then you might remember that I got this dildo as part of that box. You might also remember that I said I’d purchased one not long before that, so I now have two. I’d prefer to not support a company like Pipedream as I disagree with lots of their products, press releases and offensive marketing, but inexpensive glass toys within the UK can to be hard to find outside of the Icicles collection.

Icicles No 8I have to admit that I like the packaging for these glass products. The front of the box shows off an image of the toy and pulls open to reveal it behind a window of plastic, display case style. This is quite classy, especially for Pipedream and was a nice surprise. When I opened the box, I found the Icicles No 8 protected within a layer of foam casing. It’s a shame that these products don’t come with storage bags, as these boxes are just too bulky to store them in.

The Icicles No 8 is not a big dildo at all, in fact, it’s rather petite. It has a girth of just over 3 inches and an insertable length of 5.5 inches. Its overall length is just over 7 inches, which doesn’t leave much handle room if it’s inserted fully. It would be a fantastic place to start for those new to toys, glass, or penetration altogether. It’s also great for those like me, who still enjoy a slimmer toy now and again. I would actually have preferred a little bit more girth on the No 8 though.

This dildo doesn’t have any texture to work with or make up for what it lacks it width, but it does have an undulating shaft and some decent length to experiment with. I would say the description of this toy is quite accurate, as it’s described as a ‘glass massager’. I find that’s exactly what it does, as it’s not the most orgasm-inducing toy available, but it’s great for warming up to larger toys or teaming up with a strong, rumbly clitoral vibrator for a lazy blended orgasm.

Icicles No 8 Glass DildoI find the length of this dildo to be comfortable and within my limits, it’s long enough to be enjoyable, but short enough to miss my cervix. I can fully insert this toy without worrying about hitting against it, ending up in pain or causing myself discomfort, which means this toy is often reached for when I’m craving some fast thrusting. I can happily hand this over to my other half for him to use on me, without the fear of him taking things too deep and scraping against my cervix, which has happened a couple of times with larger toys.

My favourite thing about glass toys? You can change the temperature. I am still living at home, so putting a toy in the fridge isn’t an option for me, but you can leave yours in there for a few minutes before playtime if you have that option. I simply place mine into a bowl of cold water and leave it for around 20 minutes. I absolutely adore icy, cold glass, it feels divine internally and is my preferred way of using glass toys. I rarely warm them up, but if I do, I just repeat the same process with warm water.

Icicles No 8 Glass DildoGlass dildos can be used with any type of lubricant, I opt for water-based with this one most of the time as the size is more than manageable, but silicone lubricant comes in handy if I want to use this in the bath or shower. Cleaning is quick and easy, as all that’s required is a spray of toy cleaner and a rinse. If you’re sharing the toy between partners or switching between vaginal and anal use, then I’d recommend placing it in the top rack of your dishwasher (if you have one) for a deeper clean.

In conclusion, there aren’t many faults with this toy. I’d like a little more girth and handle room for easier grip, but that’s about it. I think it’s a nice toy, considering the manufacturer and is affordable for most. I like the colourings of the toy and the lightly pronounced waves in the shaft provide a lovely, cooling and gentle intimate massage. I think it’s quite the versatile dildo, as it’s suitable for vaginal, anal and outer body massage. I would recommend it if you’re looking for something in this price range, but this dildo is a nice alternative if you want to avoid the company who make the No 8.

Review: Kinx Rippled Glass G-Spot Teaser

I recently recruited a new piece of glass for my collection and that piece was the Kinx Rippled Glass G-Spot Teaser. If you know me at all, you’ll know that I adore glass products as they’re body-safe and have the option of being used for temperature play, which is something else that I adore. This product is inexpensive and non-intimidating, so would be a great introductory piece of glass to those who are unsure about the material. If you’ve never tried glass, I’m highly recommending that you should.

I received this product in exchange for my honest review from Bondage Bunnies and it arrived packaged discreetly as advertised. It was also a super speedy delivery, so I was already impressed with their service. The packaging for the toy itself is the cardboard box pictured above, nice and simple, just a picture of the toy on the front and an illustration on the back. It had an outer plastic packet for extra protection and an inner polystyrene case to protect the dildo. This toy doesn’t come with an included storage bag, so remember to pick one up if you require one.

I’d never heard of this brand or tried any of their products before and at half the price of my favourite glass toys, I wasn’t sure how great the quality would be. I’m pleased to report that this dildo is just as well-made as its more expensive counterparts. It is a great size and shape, quite slimline, but the texture and rigidness of the material make it feel slightly larger than it is. It has around 5.5 inches of insertable length and 3.5 inches of girth. Like I mentioned in the introduction, this isn’t particularly intimidating and should be manageable for most. The dildo has 8 inches of overall length, so there’s plenty of left over dildo to grip onto whilst using.

As this toy is made from glass, any lubricant can be used with it. If you’re new to penetration, you might want to opt for a thick water-based or a slick silicone lube for easier insertion and a sensual glide. I don’t need much lubricant with this toy, just a little around the textured shaft. To clean, you can spritz with an antibacterial toy cleaner and rinse under running water. I don’t find it harbours fluids around the texture, which is often the case with silicone toys, so it’s a very quick and easy process.

If you wish to use this toy for temperature play, you can do. I prefer glass to be chilled, but you can heat it to body temperature if you prefer. You can chill it in the fridge or in a bowl of cold water, likewise you can leave the dildo in a bowl of warm water for 15-20 minutes before use.

So, I’ve given this dildo a fair few tries now and whilst I’ve enjoyed those experiences, there are other pieces of glass that I prefer. This is due to my preferences rather than anything being wrong with the toy. It might be the perfect piece for somebody else, but it’s not quite 100% perfect for me. As of right now, I’m putting it down to the pointed tip. I do own other toys with a similar point, but this one manages to catch on my pubic bone and I find it quite sharp. It does hurt a little bit, so I have to be careful about the positioning whilst using this.

If I can get the angle right and manage to avoid the pubic bone hitting scenario, this toy is enjoyable. It pounds my G-Spot as promised and produces a noteworthy orgasm. I did find if I inserted it in the opposite direction (so the curve faces down rather than up) it seemed to work better. I prefer to insert the rounder, smaller end because there’s no worry of hurting myself this way and I can thrust as fast as I wish. I love the texture of this toy, it’s a spiral of raised ripples and feels great when twisted inside. I do like to have some texture on my glass toys and this has just the right amount for me.

Overall, I love the appearance of the toy and the dimensions of it are great. The texture feels fantastic during use and the rounder end is great to thrust with. The pointed end can work my G-Spot like a charm, providing I can get the angle right and avoid injuring myself. It’s not an overly sharp point, but it doesn’t seem to work for me. I like this toy, but it’s not perfect. For the price, it’s not bad and it’s definitely worth a try if you’re new to the material, enjoy subtle texture or don’t mind the sharpish point.
