Review: Fifty Shades Freed Crazy For You Bullet Vibrator

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching which means that the final film installment in the popular Fifty Shades trilogy is too. Alongside this highly anticipated release, Lovehoney have launched another official product range with each item being named after quotes from the film and book. There have been lots of ongoing debates about this series and its representation of a dominant/submissive relationship but we must acknowledge the fact that it’s also opened up conversations about kinkier sex, toys and bondage in mainstream society. The official product ranges have further encouraged people to try some of the things they’ve seen or read about for themselves and I can’t be mad about that as long as it’s all being done safely.

My partner and I have tried various products from past collections so were excited to be asked to review a few from the Freed range. The item that I was most drawn to will come as no surprise to those who know I love clitoral stimulation but was it as enjoyable to use as it was to look at? Let’s find out! The Crazy For You Bullet Vibrator arrived in a black and purple box with rose gold detailing. There was a product shot on the front, key features on one side and product description on the other. Inside the box, the vibrator was stored on a plastic tray and the charging cable, user leaflet and branded storage pouch housed underneath.

Frustration was the first emotion I met with after opening the box. I wanted to set it aside to charge but instead I ended up wanting to throw it at a wall. Not because the charging system was complicated but because I could not get the rose gold base unscrewed. I even tried the old towel over the hand trick and twisted as hard as I could but it didn’t budge. My partner then gave it a chance, thinking I was just having issues because of my weak joints, but he encountered the same problem. He ended up getting it off after a long battle and several attempts, but by this point I was so unaroused that I could not care less. It takes around 150 minutes to reach full charge and a green light will appear when finished. This is said to give 90 minutes of use but it depends on the settings used.

Made from silicone and finished with abs, this bullet is completely body-safe. Both materials are latex and phthalate free, odourless and non-toxic. The silicone feels high-quality and luxurious but it’s matte finish causes quite a bit of drag. As a result, I would recommend using a good coating of water-based lubricant on the smooth surface to make use more comfortable. This material also attracts a ton of lint so washing before and after use is essential. It’s fully waterproof with no seams or texture to trap dust or fluids so is very easy to clean up with soapy water.

Fifty Shades Freed Crazy For You Bullet VibratorThe travel lock was activated upon arrival so the button needed two consecutive taps to remove it. It could also be removed by placing the vibrator on charge. Two buzzes indicate that it’s been unlocked. Repeat the double tapping process to deactivate the travel lock. To change through the ten different functions tap the button once. There are a total of three speeds and seven patterns to decide between and there’s even a memory function so it will always start on the last setting used.

One thing that I didn’t like about this vibrator, other than its stiff charging cap, is the fact that its vibrations start on the highest intensity, then go to medium, down to low and follow-up with patterns. It should be the other way around, starting on low to allow people to build up in strength. Not everybody can handle full throttle power straight away so this may put some people off. I usually wack vibrators up to high instantly so it’s not a direct issue for me but I still find it frustrating on behalf of others. There’s only one button so you have to scroll past the high-speed to get to the lowest and if it’s accidentally missed then you have to go through every function to get back to the right place. If the settings had been ordered in the standard way or there had been plus and minus controls then this issue would not exist.

If it had started on low then I could have built up through the constant speeds easily enough. The low setting is borderline rumbly where the rest of the sensations are buzzy. The highest is perhaps a little numbing in the hand but not to the extent that it puts me off wanting to use it. It never reached the stage of making the clitoral area extra sensitive or uncomfortable, so that’s good news, but I personally prefer rumbles to buzzing vibrations. I can’t fault the strength of the settings at all though, the power is more than sufficient. It’s on par with Lovehoney’s Desire Bullet in that department and is one of my favourites after my fond favourite, the Tango.

Fifty Shades Freed Crazy For You Bullet VibratorOrgasms from this bullet have been strong and fulfilling. The adorable heart-shaped tip that initially drew my attention in its direction is gently slanted which allowed me to apply direct, precise contact to my clitoris. This is my preferred type of external stimulation so nothing gets me off quite as fast as this masturbation method can. If direct contact is not your preference or you’ve noticed in the past that precision can quickly become overwhelming or cause discomfort, then the Desire Blooms vibrator from the Freed range may work better for you. It has a wider surface area which provides broader stimuli.

Penis owners don’t need to feel left out or that this isn’t a toy for them to use as this bullet works just as well on the glans and other sensitive erogenous zones. My partner enjoyed using it very much although I think the shape of the tip is better suited to my anatomy rather than his. He would rather use this than the Tango due to its softer silicone surface and buzzy vibrations. He prefers buzzy sensations to rumbly, so the Tango can become too much for him at times whereas this is perfect. We would both recommend it to people who like power but want something soft and don’t mind buzzing. We’d also recommend it to patterns lovers as there’s a wonderful variety to choose from.

Overall, I think this is one of the best toys to come from the Fifty Shades collections. I was not particularly impressed with any of the vibrators from the first range but Lovehoney seem to have taken all of the feedback on board to make something much better. It is one of the stronger rechargeable bullet vibrators that I own at the moment and it’s a massive improvement on the Pure Pleasure Bullet from the original collection. It’s quiet, aesthetically pleasing and the colour scheme is absolutely gorgeous. If it wasn’t for the stiff base, buzziness and the order of the vibration modes I would give it top marks. As it is now, I think it’s above three-quarters of the way to perfection.

The Best & Worst Sex Toys Of 2017

I have reviewed a couple of hundred products on this blog over the past two years and over a hundred of them were in the previous twelve months alone. That is a large number of reviews to have written and yet, I still feel like I’m ambling around in the dark sometimes. I started to feel like I’d found my feet in the last months of 2017 and although there are still things I’d like to change and adjust, I feel like I’m on the right path at last. After I’d spent lots of time on the admin side of things, I decided to take some time to reflect on the posts I’d done over the last year, the products I’d tried and tested and the companies I’ve been lucky enough to work with. I came up with a list of my best and worst sex toys from 2017 and I’m going to kickstart that list off with vibrators.

Best & Worst Sex Toys of 2017!

The best vibrator I tried in 2017 has to be the Zumio Clitoral Stimulator. Yes, it looks unusual, takes forever to charge and doesn’t like it when pressure is applied but I can’t deny the way my body responds to it. I’m a lover of direct contact so the small surface area of the Zumio is perfect for me. The strong sensations resonate through hot spots on and below the surface of my clitoris and bring me to climax within minutes. It’s earned a place inside my bedside table and regular rotation schedule alongside a couple of other new favourites.

Second place goes to So Divine’s Let’s Go Crazy, a heated vibrator that gave me hope that there’s a perfect rabbit out there for every vulva. It fits my anatomy perfectly, has a huge variety of settings and heats up to a temperature that my body definitely agrees with. I never thought I’d be raving about a rabbit this much, but I’m a big fan of this one. Last but not least, third place goes to the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation. Whilst it’s not technically a vibrator, it has to be said that clitoral stimulators like this one have taken over the sex toy scene of late. This was one of my favourite models and I’m eager to see if anything else can top it in 2018.

As for worst vibrators, I’d have to go with the Vive Ombra. I tried the Minu from the same brand in late 2016 and I felt the same way about that product. I also have the Cleo which I’m yet to review, but I think it’s obvious how that review is going down. All of these vibrators have underpowered, buzzy vibrations that are uncomfortable to hold against bare skin and although I could orgasm with the Ombra if I waited long enough, those testing sessions were the most boring I’ve had in a long time. Life is short, I don’t have time for half-assed, underwhelming orgasms.

Favourite Dildos of 2017

Tantus are my must have brand for all things insertable and they released some of their most popular dildos in a new formula of silicone in 2017. I’ve only tried one of them to date but it turned out to be the best dildo I tested all year. The Super Soft Vamp is wonderful for g-spot stimulation, filling vaginal stimulation and anal penetration. I couldn’t use the original Vamp for backdoor sessions as it was simply too firm but this new soft version is comfortable enough for me to manage and achieve fantastic orgasms.

I don’t know if awarding a toy a place on this list that wasn’t released in 2017 is fair, but one of the most enjoyable dildos that I tried this year was an older model from the Pipedream Icicles range. The #24 is beautiful to look at, ideal for anyone with a tentacle fantasy and glorious for fans of texture. It has been one of my most-used insertables over the past several months and I think it will continue to be a firm favourite. Third place is awarded to another toy from the brilliance of Tantus and that is the Uncut #2. Realistic dildos are not usually my thing but the thought of a toy with foreskin intrigued me. It was better than I had anticipated and now I have a toy that’s resembles my partners shape when he’s not around, which I just love. I hope to try the #1 in 2018 and see if that ticks as many boxes.

It’s extremely difficult for me to pick a worst dildo for last year as I didn’t try that many. Last year seemed to consist of vibrators for the most part. I think I only reviewed around ten dildos, most of those from Tantus. My mission for 2018 is to try more insertable toys of all shapes and sizes to see what is out there that I have been missing out on or luckily avoiding. Got any suggestions for me? Let me know in the comments or send over an email.

Favourite Plugs of 2017

In 2016 I forgot all about anal products. I was so focused on bondage and dildos that butt plugs and beads got completely overlooked. I made sure that changed in 2017 and anal toys quickly became one of my favourite categories to write reviews for. There was no contest for which toy would be awarded first place in this round. It had to be B-Vibe’s Rimming Plug 2. I was blown away by the strength this beauty had. The rimming sensations felt out of this world and it’s simply one of the most unusual feelings I’ve ever encountered with a sex toy, in all the right ways. The Trio Plug from the same brand is also pretty fantastic and I can’t wait to see more from them in 2018.

There were so many wonderful products that I could have placed at number two but in the end I decided to award it to We-Vibe’s Ditto. Shape wise, this was new to me. I hadn’t tried anything in my butt shaped like this before but it was surprisingly comfortable and secure. It can be worn for hours without any problems and the dimensions make it ideal for newcomers. The remote control allows a partner to be involved and the power was as expected from this wonderful company. It doubles as a clitoral toy too, which makes it even better. Third place goes to another So Divine product – the Sweet Sensation. A classic teardrop shaped plug with a sparkly crystal for extra aesthetic credit and princess play. I spent 2017 recommending this plug to everyone who asked about beginners anal products and now they’ve introduced two new sizes for those at more advanced levels.

The worst anal product was without a doubt the Swiss Navy Silicone Anal Lubricant that I tested for the Pleasure Panel back in April. Lots of the other reviewers reached the same conclusion as me. This  lubricant had a confusing consistency, not what I’d usually associate with a silicone-based product, and it just was not thick enough for comfortable anal sex. It contains clove which is supposed to be a mild numbing agent. Whilst I didn’t feel any loss of sensation, I gained an odour to my nostrils that was repulsive. This is one lube that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. It may even be worse than Durex.

Before we conclude this round-up and get on with 2018, I want to award one company with the title of retailer of the year. This company was one of the rare few that had no ethical problems, social media screw-ups, offensive outbursts or customer service complaints and I believe they deserve to be credited for that. Peepshow Toys are a great company that stock only body-safe products, post helpful guides and articles from sex-positive people and genuinely care about their customers. I worked with them on several product reviews last year and have nothing but good things to say about my experiences with them so far. Please support them by visiting their store and following them on social media!

Review: Black Rose Wrist-to-Collar Restraint Set

If you want good quality, pretty and affordable bondage pieces that are suitable for all experience levels then the Black Rose collection from Bondage Boutique could be a perfect contender. After receiving a few items from the line in a mystery bundle last year I was excited to see some more additions added recently. I was particularly interested in the Wrist-to-Collar Restraint Set as I’ve been looking for an intermediate collar for a while and this aesthetically pleasing combo appeared to tick all of the boxes. Did it still tick those boxes after testing it? Let’s find out.

Made from faux leather, this set is suitable for vegans and people who like to avoid the real deal. It feels supple, high quality and doesn’t disappoint in the quality department. The gorgeous black rose aesthetic that I love so much patterns the exterior and the finishings are made from matte black metal. There is a connecting chain, several buckles and multiple D-rings. All of them can handle strong tugs and sharp movements as they are well secured to the restraints. I have no concerns about them breaking off or coming loose whatsoever.

Tom and I both identity as switches so we like to have restraints in our collection that work for both of us. It makes finding suitable items for sessions much easier and allows us to swap over halfway through if we want. We have both worn the Bondage Boutique Beginners Collar previously which gave us an indication that the depth of this particular collar would be fine. If you or your partner have only worn the thin choker style collars before then this one may feel more restrictive and uncomfortable at first but it doesn’t completely restrict head movements or force your head back like a posture collar would.

I wore the collar set first and found it fairly comfortable. It wasn’t as comfortable as the beginners collar mentioned above but that was to be expected as this one has no neoprene padding. The faux leather is soft enough for a couple of hours wear. According to my partner I have a small neck so finding collars that are adjustable enough can be problematic. We got this one tight enough to fit as it has nine eyes on the straps to suit a range of sizes. I wear it through the seventh hole which leaves enough room to get two fingers underneath to relieve contact if needed but not enough room to be ineffective.

His turn to wear it came next. He agreed with me in regards to comfort and said that he preferred this to the other basic collars in our collection as it’s more restrictive, allowing him to embrace his submissive side. He has a larger neck circumference than I do but the collar also managed to fit him well. He wears it through the second or third hole depending how tight he wants it on that given day. Overall, it can adjust between 12.5 inches and 17.5 inches. It is completed with a detachable lead that can be removed instantly if needed due to the quick-release clip.

As for the wrist restraints, I also struggle finding these to fit however I knew I would be fine with these as we own the regular wrist cuffs from this range. These have seven eyes on the strap and I wear them on the second to last hole for a tight, secure fight that I can’t wriggle free from. My partner wears them through the second hole when it’s his turn to be restrained and says these are some of the most comfortable wrist restraints he’s ever worn. These can be adjusted between 5.5 inches and 10 inches.

I briefly touched on the fact that my partner likes the idea of being able to quickly remove the lead if needed. I think this is a great idea for those who may be new to restraints, safety conscious (always good when engaging in bondage situations) or unsure about being controlled via a leash. The quick-release clips are also attached to the wrist restraints so can be unclipped from the collar in a matter of seconds should there be a spoken safe word or other emergency situation. The only thing that can’t be removed instantly is the collar as this needs unbuckling first. Quick release clips are not only good for fast removal as they can be alternatively used for introducing other pieces of restraint.

To conclude, we were more than satisfied with this set. The rose patterned design makes it non-intimidating and the release clips make this set perfect for beginners and intermediate users. We were impressed that we were able to make the collar and the wrist restraints fit us both despite the differences in our measurements. As a result of this I’m happy to state that they are suitable for a wide range of people, just check in with the above measurements first to be sure that includes you. The only thing we didn’t like about the set was the lead. It’s very plain and basic in comparison to the rest of the set which was disappointing. A matching lead would have been the perfect finishing touch and I wouldn’t have minded if that had amped up the cost by a few pounds.

Review: So Divine Let’s Go Crazy Rabbit Vibrator

During the past twelve months there have been several new brands and companies that have managed to earn a spot on my sex toy radar but the only company that managed to consistently maintain my interest was So Divine. My partner and I have been so impressed with the quality of the products we have reviewed from them so far and their mission to produce safe, affordable sex toys for all is one that resonates deeply with us. So Divine’s journey started with mini bullets, single speed bullets, classic vibrators and massaging wands that doubled as internal vibrators. It continued with a petite jewelled plug which was followed by two larger plugs and it now expands further with the release of two rabbit vibrators.

The Let’s Go Crazy arrived in standard So Divine style – a minimalistic purple and white box with a striking product photo on the front. It points out a few key features on the side of the box and instructions for use on the back. Inside, the rabbit can be found alongside a three pin plug, charging cable, storage pouch and the information leaflet that comes with all of their toys. It gives a quick introduction to the company and basic cleaning directions for the product.

Charging couldn’t be simpler. Place the USB end of the cable into the port on the plug and then place that into an available socket. Next, attach the magnetic connector to the corresponding points on the back of the vibrator. It also has the helpful option of removing the plug for on the go charging. A flashing power light indicates that it’s charging, a steady light indicates a full battery and no light indicates that it’s not connected to the power or turned on. Full charge takes about four hours and gives two hours of use.

Let’s Go Crazy is made from soft, luxurious silicone. This means it’s non-toxic, odourless, hypoallergenic and completely body safe. No latex or phthalates either. A hygienic, non-porous material is what I recommend opting for with all sex toys but it’s an absolute must-have if sharing the toy between partners. Silicone is the only safe material that doesn’t have to be rock hard. The kind that’s used on this vibrator is incredibly silky and smooth. It feels delightful. There’s not much resistance to the material but I’d still suggest a generous slathering of water based lube for comfortable use. To clean, rinse this waterproof device under warm water and slather it with soap.

Operating time! There are five buttons on the control panel and the central button is the one that turns the toy on and off. It goes into standby mode when the light is blue which means other buttons will then work. To start the vibrations, press the top button for a couple of seconds. You also switch through the ten functions via this button. To increase the intensity of the vibrations use the plus button and to decrease them use the minus. The final button on the bottom controls the heat function with a simple tap. You can change the settings whilst the heat is on as normal and the lights will flicker between blue and red alternatively.

Let's Go Crazy Rabbit Vibrator

If you like girthy rabbits or larger insertables, then this may not be the best choice for you. It has a maximum circumference of 4.25 inches which is rather slimline. I personally like both slim and thick toys so I wasn’t discouraged by the size at all and I feel that it would be a great choice for people who prefer smaller vibrators or simply want something non-intimidating for first-time use. There are also five inches of insertable length which is pretty standard for a rabbit. It’s long enough to hit the right spots but short enough to avoid the cervix.

When I saw the colour scheme and shape of this rabbit I thought back to my experience with the Lelo Ina 2, a rabbit that I tried a while back that just didn’t work for me. On paper, it looked like it would have been perfect for me but in practice it wasn’t due to the firmness of the internal arm and the positioning of the clitoral arm. I do like my internal vibrators to be firm, but there’s a line between ‘firm enough’ and ‘ouch’. It had no flexibility whatsoever which meant I couldn’t move it around to avoid the bashing it gave to my internal spots and it left me feeling disappointed and wondering whether rabbits were just a waste of my time.

I have said in every rabbit review I have ever written that they are notoriously difficult to get right and are completely dependent on the users anatomy. It can be hard to tell from looking at one whether it will fit or not so it’s usually down to trial and error. Our vulvas are all different, even if the changes are minimal from one person to the next. These subtle changes in anatomy can be the deciding factors as to whether a particular rabbit will work for the user or not. Subtle changes in shape between two rabbits can be another deciding factor. For example, the Ina 2 has a similar shape to the Let’s Go Crazy but this suits me much better due to the flex of the shaft and internal arm.

Let's Go Crazy Rabbit VibratorBeing able to alter the positioning of the internal arm allows me to send it to the places where I want focused stimulation and avoid the spots where it pokes uncomfortably. The bulbous head and gentle curve of the shaft contour to my g-spot beautifully and caress it with rumbly, powerful vibrations. I stick to the constant speeds on high intensities and find myself riding out the waves of orgasm within several minutes.

The clitoral arm is placed in the perfect position for my body allowing the arm to firmly push up against the clitoris rather than sitting above or next to it. I can make the most of these external vibrations because the fit lines up well and I don’t need to move the toy around much internally to get the stimulation that I’m looking for. I think this is due to a combination of the gentle shape and the heating function. Without the heat I think I would have to put in more work to get my orgasms.

Being the sucker for temperature play that I am, a heating function is always warmly welcomed. I usually choose to use cold temperatures with glass and metal sex toys but heat on silicone feels exquisite and each time I experience it I wish all of my toys had the option to warm up. Once the function has been turned on it takes about five minutes to gradually warm up to 38 degrees. It is certainly noticeable at that point and it feels out of this world when combined with the powerful rumbly vibrations of this dual-motored device. It’s something I would recommend everyone try at least once.

Let's Go Crazy Rabbit Vibrator

Overall, I love So Divine more each time a new product is released and this has made me all the more excited for further products in 2018. Let’s Go Crazy is a winning rabbit for me. It has everything that I could want in this style of vibrator as well as the bonus of heat. The shape is perfect, the motors are reasonably quiet, the dimensions are ideal for all players regardless of experience level and the amount of combinations that can be created left me wanting to have fun with this for several more hours after I finished testing it.
