Review: Be Sassy Be Unique Dual Stimulation Vibrator

I don’t like ruling out an entire range of products based on a negative experience with one item so I asked Orion if they’d be willing to let me review another product from their own-brand Be Sassy collection. I had tried out the Be Charming Lay-On Vibrator from this range earlier in the year and found it less than impressive. It wasn’t my perfect match or even an enjoyable one night stand as it just wasn’t the right product for me. The vibrators motor was the main problem that I had with it although I don’t think it helped that my preferences and needs were different to what that toy could offer. I didn’t want to just assume that the rest of the range would be unsuitable and extract the same response from me so I accepted two more vibrators from the range with an open mind and willing vulva. This review is going to be for the Be Unique, a dual-stimulation vibrator with a shape I’d never tried before. Did it work for me or did it leave me feeling flustered in all the wrong ways? Read on to find out!

The packaging cannot be faulted. It’s simplistic and fairly plain with no tacky images in sight. The box shows an image of the Be Unique on the front and back and the back also offers a couple of informational snippets. The sides offer multilingual basic descriptions regarding the key features. The front of the box can be opened up via the magnetic clip to reveal the vibrator behind a viewing screen, which is a nice touch. Inside, I found the toy and a generic user guide. There’s no storage bag included.

Be Unique has been created from silicone, a completely body-safe material that is non-toxic, non-porous, odourless and phthalate free. It’s also clear from latex and is hypoallergenic, which means it can be properly cleaned between uses and won’t harbour bacteria. The silicone feels of a high standard and the vibrator itself appears to be well-made and put together. It doesn’t have any off-putting seams or rough edges around the rigid plastic control panel and it looks good overall. I think the material feels smooth to the touch and luxurious but it has the typical drag associated with silicone. A coating of water-based lubricant will remove this and make insertion and use comfortable.

Neither the manual, box or website specified whether this toy is waterproof but as the manual indicates that it should be cleaned with soap/toy cleaner and water, I assume that it is. I have not had any problems when rinsing it but I have been particularly cautious when rinsing and haven’t submerged it. I would not recommend using this in the bath or shower and I’d advise avoiding getting the base of the toy wet to stop water getting into the battery compartment.

It’s not rechargeable like most of the other products in this range and batteries do not come included. It takes two triple a’s and these are placed inside the above mentioned battery compartment. There’s a little switch on the base (underneath the word open) that needs to be flicked upwards to remove the cap. Once it’s been removed, add the batteries as the compartment directs and slide the cap back on firmly.

Be Sassy Be Unique Dual Stimulation VibratorThe Be Unique is operated via a simple, easy-to-operate two button interface. A power button and a spiral-like button. The power button does what the name implies. It just turns the toy on and off with a quick tap. The other button switches through the various settings of which there are seven. There are two constant vibration modes to choose from and five patterned modes. I would have liked three levels of speed instead of the fifth pattern but this is personal preference as patterns don’t do anything for me.

Beginners, gather around. This dual stimulator has a maximum girth of 4.3 inches which makes it slimline and suitable for those with little-to-no penetration experience and those who are new to sex toys. It’s also a great option for people who prefer slimline insertables. I like slim, medium and bordering on large insertables depending on my mood and sensitivity levels. This toy is great for occasions where I want internal stimulation from something petite. It has five and a half inches of useable length and an overall shaft of 7.8 inches which leaves a couple of inches to grip onto during use.

Dual stimulators are notorious for being the hardest vibrators to work with. This is because they are completely anatomy dependent. What works for one person, won’t necessarily work for the next. The Be Unique wasn’t the best fit for my body although it wasn’t the worst either. The short clitoral arm is what I typically look for as my clitoris and entrance are quite close together so I need don’t much length to reach the right spots. The external arm in this case does hover over the clitoris but because it tapers to a point rather than a rounded tip or separated ears it doesn’t cover the entire area or stay in position without some assistance. I need to hold it down for it to work with my body. This is not the worst thing in the world but I prefer to use rabbits that remain steady over that area so I can focus on the shaft.

Be Sassy Be Unique Dual Stimulation VibratorThe two ridged bumps on the top section of the shaft reminded me of the Tantus Charmer, which is one of my favourite textured dildos, and I had high hopes for it. The head of the Be Unique is firmer than the Charmer which means that stable pressure against the g-spot is possible and welcomed.

I need some firmness against this area to be stimulated to the point of orgasm and to my surprise, this toy has what it takes. I can orgasm from the g-spot stimulation it gives me thanks to those beautiful bumps. If it had an extra inch in girth then it would have been absolutely perfect for me as the slim shaft doesn’t provide much stimulation to the vaginal walls, which is something that I really enjoy.

The Be Unique has two motors, one in each arm. Both of these motors are buzzy but I don’t think they’re as high-pitched/high-frequency as the singular motor used inside the Be Charming. It can become numbing if used for longer than ten minutes or so but it isn’t the worst buzzing that I’ve come across and it definitely does not frustrate me as much as the last experience did. Both motors have an adequate amount of power to them although I could have done with some additional strength in the external arm.

Be Sassy Be Unique Dual Stimulation Vibrator

Overall, I definitely prefer the Be Unique to the Be Charming which was unexpected as dual stimulators tend to be my toughest testing tasks. The internal arm on this has a great shape and size for beginners but the external arm is not going to work for everyone due to it’s uniquely pointed tip. It didn’t particularly work for my body so it has to be my biggest criticism of this product. I do still think that the motors could be improved (with less buzzing) but this is a definite improvement on round one and I’m curious to see what the future holds.

Review: Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation

It’s no secret that I’m extremely fond of clitoral suction vibrators, so when I spotted pictures of the soon-to-be released Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation back in June, I posted on Instagram about how adorable it was. A couple of months later and one was on the way for me to review – courtesy of the lovely folks over at Peepshow Toys. When I got it in my hands it was everything I’d imagined it to be and more. I’m simply obsessed with its adorable on-point aesthetic and the addition of the hot pink bow-tie around the Penguins neck. It is everything the original should have been. It now has a colour scheme that accurately resembles the animal it’s named after and bares strong resemble to Pingu, a tv character that I adored throughout my childhood.

The packaging for this product was as expected, simplistic and classic. This hasn’t changed from the original models apart from the small mention of the awards the Next Generation Penguin won for its design. It still shows a product shot on the front and back along with a few key features printed on the sides. Inside the box, the vibrator rests within some plastic casing alongside the charging cable and user manual. It still does not come with any storage. I’m holding out hope for future generations to include a small satin pouch.

Satisfyer’s Pro Penguin is one of three rechargeable models and charges via a USB and magnetic clip system. Attach the clips to the magnets on the base and plug the USB into an available port. I noticed that this cable disconnected the charge easily unless it was placed on a completely flat surface. This was odd as all of the other cables for my rechargeable models seemed to be more sturdy than this one. The manual suggests that it could take up to eight hours for a first charge but it definitely didn’t take that long. It was ready to go in just under three hours and charges in just one and a half now. The lights on the control panel flash whilst charging and go steady once complete. You can get around ninety minutes of use per charge depending on the intensity used.

It is made from high-grade, silky smooth silicone and hard plastic. Both of these materials are completely body-safe, latex and phthalate free, hypoallergenic and odourless. Satisfyer recommend applying a coating of water-based lubricant around the rim of the nozzle for comfort during use. I would agree with this as comfort is a key factor when masturbating and the more relaxed I am, the better my experience tends to be. After use, rinse the fully waterproof device with warm soapy water then leave to air dry. You can remove the nozzle for deeper cleaning if you wish too. I’d recommend this as there are currently no replacement heads available for the Penguin.

Outside of the obvious appearance change, there’s another distinctive difference between the Penguin and the next Generation Penguin. The control panel. It still has two buttons but this time around they do different things. Press the four wave (bottom) button down for a couple of seconds to turn on. It will start on the lowest intensity. You can then tap this button up to eleven times to scroll through the rest of the intensity options or press and hold to turn off again. The two wave (top) button will take you back down through the intensities. I know a few people who mentioned that they’d like the option to go back a setting so I’m really pleased that Satisfyer took this on board and removed my previous frustrations.

Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next GenerationIn my opinion, people who like direct clitoral contact are best suited to a product like this. It’s not the type of toy that can work for everyone. For example, people who find constant pressure/attention towards their clitoris overwhelming, numbing or uncomfortable would not be well-suited to the Satisfyer.

This also wouldn’t be the best option for someone who likes to be very active and involved in a masturbation session as once the Penguin is in place comfortably it doesn’t need to be moved again until you’ve finished. I have tried moving it but finds this just reduces the sensation and breaks the suction which makes orgasms next to impossible.

To find your comfortable placement, lay back and part your labia slightly to reveal the clitoris. Place the nozzle over the area at whatever angle feels best then let the toy do the rest. It’s absolutely wonderful for lazy masturbators, people in a rush or those who just want something quick and reliable. I personally love it although this wasn’t surprising. Clitoral suction vibrators have proved over and over again to be successful for me and this one wasn’t going to be excluded. I can be presented with an orgasm from setting seven and above or even five and six on days where I’m more sensitive. The lower settings are ideal for teasing, warming-up or cooling down before round two.

If you’re a person who prefers broad stimulation to the angled tip of a bullet vibrator then you might find the Penguin too precise and intense for you, even on the lower settings. I’d also advise caution for clit-owners who are particularly sensitive. It may be better to start out with one of the slightly less intense battery operated versions of the Satisfyer and see whether the stimulation works for you before investing in one of the stronger, pricier models. I think the Next Generation Penguin is actually now the most intense model because of its different nozzle shape. The smaller, boxier nozzle seems to refine the sensations more than the regular oval-shaped heads.

Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next GenerationNoise is one of the first things people ask me regarding these toys so I’ll stick with the phrase I’ve used in every response. None of these suction stimulators can be completely quiet due to the mechanisms involved. Having said that, I do think this version is quieter than some of the other models. You will still want to play some background music if discretion is a necessity to you for whatever reason but it’s not the loudest suction device I’ve tried.

Overall, I usually prefer longer handled vibrators for this type of stimulation but in this case I can look past the shorter body and petite dimensions. It’s so comfortable to hold which I think makes all the difference. I will say that this may make use more difficult for people who have mobility/reach issues and in those situations I’d recommend the new Satisfyer Pro 2 instead. Complaints wise, I don’t have any to make on this occasion. I feel that all of my previous constructive criticisms have been addressed with this upgrade (minus the lack of storage bag). It now has better on-brand aesthetics, a convenient and easier to use control panel and a quieter motor. I’m looking forward to seeing what is next for this brand and whether they will continue to improve their products to leave their customers fully satisfied.

Review: Blush Novelties Aria Vibrance Vibrator

After I put the Lotus Flutter through its paces in 2016, I was hoping to get a chance to review another vibrator from the Blush Novelties Aria range. I got that chance recently from Peepshow Toys who sent over the Vibrance for me to test. I am excited about this collection for a couple of main reasons. The first being the colour options. Each vibrator has been created in four key shades. There are the two obvious choices, pink and purple, but there are also some unexpected colours in the form of a tangy orange and bright lime. It’s so refreshing to see barely used colours featured so prominently within a sex toy collection. The second reason is that it offers good quality, body-safe products at an affordable price point. The vibrators come in a wide variety of shapes and styles to suit every mood and occasion and I’d happily recommend this line to those on a budget who want something safe but not lacking in standards.

The presentation for Aria products is not particularly fancy. It’s just a white cardboard sleeve with a viewing window in the front, cut-out logo on one side and list of multilingual key features on the back. Inside the sleeve, the Vibrance is found within some plastic casing. Underneath there’s a cardboard leaflet that gives some directions for use, more product information and warranty instructions. This line doesn’t include storage bags with the products which is a minor downside for me but not an essential.

Made from a velvety smooth, silky soft silicone which is non-toxic, odourless, hypoallergenic and latex and phthalate free, the Vibrance is the essence of body safe. It has minimal drag to the surface but a touch of water-based lubricant for comfort is never a bad thing. I would recommend it if using internally but I didn’t use any during external use. The material does harbor some lint and fluids, particularly around the bottom of the shaft, but this can easily be removed with running water. It’s a fully waterproof vibrator so rinsing with soap is no issue providing the battery compartment is properly in place.

It takes two triple A batteries, which are not included, and these need to be inserted into the base. Unscrew it to reveal the compartment and look at the diagrams inscribed inside to make sure the batteries are being placed correctly. Once in, screw the base back on and get ready to go. The singular button that controls all operation is located on the front of the base and should be pressed once to start the vibrations. Tap again to cycle through the various speeds or press and hold for a few seconds to turn off. It doesn’t have up and down arrows to scroll back through a function if you miss the one you desire so that can be a little frustrating, but for this price point, I cannot complain.

There are ten lovely functions to choose from on the Vibrance, five of them are constant speeds and the remaining five are patterned vibrations. I prefer constant vibrations so the choice of extra speeds over seven unusable patterns was very much appreciated. If you are like myself and would rather have a steady setting than a zigzag pattern or rollercoaster of intensities then the Aria range could be ideal for you. I haven’t used the patterns other than to test them out in my hand because as expected they are not suited to me but there’s a fun variety for those who do enjoy them.

Fragile, delicate and gentle are all words I’d use to describe the first speed. It’s subtle, tickle-like and perfect for warming up or introducing someone to vibrations for the first time. The second speed was still quite soft but the vibrations did feel almost rumbly towards the base where the bulk of the power resonated. The third speed is where the vibrations begin to pick up in pace. The power is an improvement but the sensations become buzzy from this point onwards. The fourth speed improves again, but the fifth speed is where the surprise hit me. There’s a big jump in intensity there. It’s sadly the most buzzy speed of them all too so I unfortunately can’t use it externally as it numbs my clitoris.

I have used the Aria Vibrance for both internal and external use, but for me, it shines best internally. I decided to use it for clitoral use during sex with my partner first. It’s small enough to hold between our bodies in most positions although a bullet is more conveniently sized and practical. I used the constant speeds up to the fourth intensity for some added stimulation during penetration but I couldn’t reach an orgasm with it this way. I need more power externally than this can offer me and I can’t handle the buzziness of the fifth speed which may have been strong enough to do the job otherwise. It hasn’t worked during solo sessions for external play either so I’ve had to rule this out as an option for me.

Blush Novelties Aria VibranceMy partner had a completely different external experience. He does not need buckets of strength to orgasm and doesn’t mind buzzy vibration frequencies so this worked out perfectly for his needs. He liked the toy to be placed against the tip of his penis and held there whilst he masturbated. It definitely induced his orgasms faster and made them feel more intense so he’d happily recommend it to other penis owners or people who don’t need super strong settings to get their kicks.

I didn’t end up handing the Vibrance over to him permanently though as I mentioned that it worked for me internally. I actually had a whale of a time during sessions with this. It has an overall length of 6.2 inches with 4.5 inches being insertable. This is a great length for first time users, those who don’t enjoy deep penetration and those who fancy something shallower from time to time. I fit into the latter category. I don’t always want to push my vaginas limits and avoid my cervix, sometimes I just want something short and sweet. This is exactly that. It has a maximum circumference of around 4.3 inches at its widest point which is again manageable for a wide variety of people and circumstances. I wouldn’t advise this to someone who’s never inserted anything before but if two fully inserted fingers are comfortable then this should be fine.

Blush Novelties Vibrance is firm to the touch and the silicone has no squish but it does have some flexibility. It can be moved in all directions to a certain extent which makes it ergonomic and likely to contour to each individual anatomy it pairs with. The gorgeous twist texture that it features is more prevalent than I expected and it feels incredible in use. It provides a delightful internal massage to the vaginal walls if twisted whilst inserted or rocked gently back and forth. I didn’t find it as pleasant when thrusting so tend to opt for more relaxed methods of movement.

Blush Novelties Aria VibranceOverall, I was not disappointed with my first experience with the Aria line and I haven’t been disappointed with my second. The Vibrance is a non-intimidating, quirky vibrator with great texture and satisfactory vibrations. I personally need more power if I want to use something like this externally but it was suitable for internal use and working up my partner who is less power inclined. Its quiet enough for those who need discretion with a bit of background noise and at this price, you can’t really go wrong.

You can purchase the Blush Novelties Aria Vibrance ($27.99/£21.20) from Peepshow Toys. You can get 10% off any purchases with the code “NatandTom”.

Review: Ann Summers Magnetize Rampant Rabbit

When I received my review package from Ann Summers recently, I was expecting to find two rabbits inside. Both of which I’d requested. The Moregasm Contour and The Curved One sat at the top of the box, but I could tell there was something underneath. A third rabbit. I had not heard of this one before and I could not find it on their website, so I had to do a little research and discover that it was part of a new collection. I was intrigued from the very first time I saw the Magnetize Rampant Rabbit as the box stated that it was powered by magnets. I remember thinking “well that’s new”. I hadn’t seen this kind of technology before and I was drawn in further by the promise of 147 possible function combinations. I have had this toy for several weeks now and I don’t think I’ve explored even half of these settings yet but I like that as it will keep me interested in this vibrator for some time. I have finally got to know it well enough to write this review, so read on to find out more about the Magnetize and how it works.

The packaging for this rabbit is different to that of the other Rampant Rabbits I’ve tried. It came in a white and silver box with pink lettering that had a clear plastic sleeve over the top for protection and easy toy viewing. The rabbit was laying within some polystyrene casing, with the user manual and charging cable stored underneath. It does not come with any storage which might disappoint some people (me included) as this is not the cheapest toy available, but you can pick one up separately at Ann Summers for a couple of extra pounds.

It’s a rechargeable vibrator and does come with some initial juice, maybe around ten minutes worth of use or so, which is not long enough for me to get use out of so I placed it on charge immediately. There’s no indication given in the manual as to how long this should take, so I’d have to guess based on my experiences and say it takes roughly two hours. It has provided me with around an hour of use per charge, which isn’t bad. Once the jack is plugged into the barely visible port on the toys base and the USB into a laptop port, a light should flash to indicate that the charging has begun. It will stay lit once finished.

Ann Summers have spoiled their customers with the gorgeous silicone that has been used on this vibrator. It feels extremely high-quality and luxurious and has the aesthetics to match. It looks elegant and feels smooth to the touch, providing only a low-level of drag. It has some drag to it around the texture of the shaft but nothing that a slick coating of water-based lubricant couldn’t solve. The external arm is quite firm so I discovered a dot of lubricant on this arm was helpful and allowed me to remain comfortable during longer sessions.

Silicone is hypoallergenic, odourless, non-toxic, latex free, phthalate free and easy to clean. This body-safe material only has one downside and that’s the fact that it attracts every spec of lint and cat hair known to man. Luckily, the Magnetize Rampant Rabbit is fully waterproof so it can be rinsed thoroughly with warm water before each use to remove any traces of unwanted fluff. After use, it can be rinsed again with soapy water or sex toy cleaner and dried with a lint free cloth.

There are three buttons on this device. The lightening bolt/flash button at the bottom of the control panel turns the toy on or off when pressed and held for a few seconds. You can also press it to change through the three available speeds when the other buttons are in use. The left button controls the ears and the right is in charge of the shaft. The buttons are actually small diagrams of each part of the rabbit, which I think was a nice touch. There are seven modes in the ears and shaft and the arms can be used alone or together, which is perfect for those of us who prefer high intensity on one arm and low intensity or patterns on the other.

Dimensions wise, the Magnetize is a pretty standard rabbit. It has a maximum insertable length of around four and a half inches, which seems to be the average amount of usable length for these toys, and a maximum girth of four inches. I don’t think these measurements are unmanageable for most people with some penetration or sex toy experience, but do keep in mind that this toy is rather firm which makes it feel a touch larger than it actually is.

The Magnetize is powered by Ann Summers exclusive Climax Technology which is said to send deep, low-frequency waves of vibration through the entire body. I think that this technology works very well on the internal arm. I could feel those deep, rumbly vibrations throughout the entire shaft (although they were most prevalent at the bottom) and these sent my nether regions into a blitz attack of sensations. I unfortunately can’t vouch for this technology being successful in the clitoral arm though. It seems to be the case with a high majority of dual stimulators that one arm (usually the external) is less intense in power than the other and offers simple buzzy vibrations. This can be frustrating for lots of people (me included) who need more power externally than internally and aren’t fond of higher frequency settings.

This rabbit features targeted magnets inside and these are designed to increase blood flow and sensitivity for better orgasms. There is a magnet located in the base of the shaft and another located inside the clitoral arm. I can’t say that I noticed anything immediately obvious that made this stand out from other rabbits but over time I’ve concluded that there is some subtle happenings going down beneath the silicone surface. I do now think that these magnets have increased my sensitivity levels and made me more susceptible to the strength of the vibrations on offer.

Fit is one of the hardest things to get right with this category of sex toy. We all have different anatomies so not every rabbit will work with every vulva which is why I generally prefer to use two separate toys rather than one stand-alone product. The Rampant Rabbits have done me well thus far and I’d say that the fit of the Magnetize is very similar to that of The Curved One. It has a short clitoral arm which works best for me as someone who has a clitoris rather close to their entrance. The ears sit directly against my clitoris, allowing me to make the most of the vibrations. A touch of extra girth on the internal arm would have been appreciated, but what it lacks in width, it makes up for in firmness.

With gentle ridged texture against the slightly bulbous head and a smooth, shallow curve that leads to the shaft, the Magnetize Rampant Rabbit practically screamed g-spot stimulation. It has a desirable amount of firmness which the Moregasm Contour sadly lacked and I can easily achieve a suitable amount of pressure against that spot in the process of trying to reach a climax. I found twisting to be more effective than thrusting with this particular toy as the texture provided extra stimulation by targeting the vaginal walls. This is something not many rabbits can achieve, unless they’re particularly girthy of course.

Now, I’m not going to say that I’m completely sold on rabbits as I know I’ve been pretty lucky with the few I’ve been able to review from this Ann Summers line so far and not everyone will share my experiences, but I will say that this rabbit stands out to me. It has very interesting technology in the form of magnets and this is something I’ve never experienced before. I think I’d have to try another Magnetize toy to be certain on whether it’s the magnets doing their job right or whether the internal arm on this toy is just spectacular at its job, but as it stands, I’m pretty enchanted by it.

Overall, I was surprised, impressed and slightly confused by the Magnetize. It took me through a range of emotions and feelings but it has come out on top. I am wowed by the amount of potential settings that this product offers and I can’t wait to explore them more over the coming months. It has a lot of other cool features too including the fact that it’s body-safe, textured, waterproof, quiet, rechargeable and unique. If Ann Summers Climax Technology had been as prevalent in the external arm as it is in the internal then I think I’d have rated this at a hardly ever given top score of ten. For now though, I can only give it a solid eight.

You can purchase the Magnetize Rampant Rabbit (£80) from Ann Summers.
