Review: Kiiroo Pearl 2 Interactive G-Spot Vibrator

Every year there seems to be a rise in the amount of sex toy designs that are created to be used with apps, websites, remotes, partners, headsets and other interactive resources. I think this is a category that’s only going to continue to grow and improve as the demands for these products increase. Technology is becoming more prevalent within all areas of life so it makes sense that it’s now reaching the sex toy market at full force. When I was presented with the opportunity to test out a new and improved interactive idea from Kiiroo, I was looking forward to seeing how this teledildonic device would work in practice and what exactly it could do that similar options couldn’t.

Kiiroo’s Pearl 2 comes in a white and purple box with a product shot on the front, specs on one side and a brief description plus the compatible interactive features listed on the back. Inside, the toy rests upon some foam casing alongside the charging cable, warranty card, quick set-up guide and a little card that tells you where to find the full user manual. The warranty is for one year after purchase and can be registered at this section of their website. A downside to the contents of the box was the lack of storage. It’s disappointing to me as this retails at just under $100 and it wouldn’t have upped the cost much to throw in a drawstring pouch.

It has been made from a smooth silicone that feels decent to the touch and has all the usual benefits of being the only soft material that’s completely body safe without being rock hard. It is odourless, non-toxic, phthalate free and hypoallergenic. It is soft but has a ton of drag to its surface so a thicker water-based lubricant has been required for comfortable, friction-free use. It attracts lint, not obsessively so, but it’s fully waterproof so can be rinsed before each use to remove traces of fluff and pet hair. After use, soapy water and a thorough rinse will clean it up perfectly.

Charging wise, there is a port located on the base that is covered with self-healing silicone. Stiff at first but this becomes easier after several charges. The light on the front will blink slowly to indicate that it’s charging and turn to a steady green glow once complete. A full refresh takes about two hours and gives around an hour of use. There are two other light alerts to watch out for. Red and flashing means the battery is running low and yellow means there’s an update that needs checking or an error has occurred.

To control the Pearl, there is one button. Power on by pressing down for four seconds, a solid blue colour will show to indicate the Bluetooth mode has been activated, press again for a white light to head to touch sensitive mode. Each press after that goes to a preset mode of vibration. To turn off press and hold down again for a few seconds. Having just one button sounds simple and practical, but for me, it caused massive frustration and broken nails. I have brittle nails, amongst other brittle areas of my body, and they bent back and snapped every time I tried to connect with the button. This is because it’s stiff and not raised enough. It doesn’t stick out enough to be comfortable to interact with and its hard to find in the dark even with the light glistening. It irritated the hell out of me and would absolutely need to be improved on a future version for me to consider getting one.

Kiiroo Pearl 2 G-Spot VibratorAs mentioned above there are a couple of settings that aren’t preset vibrations and that may leave some questions lingering. So to answer them, the Bluetooth mode is the only one that can be used to receive signals from a partner. You have to go to the website feelme (or the FeelConnect app) to set up the device to connect with a partner or use the interactive content provided.

Follow the instructions given to pair the Pearl to the website or app. The touch sensitive mode is almost self explanatory. It responds intuitively to touch, making the surface vibrate whenever it comes into contact with the body. You can see from the guide where the sensitive zones are to figure out how to target the vibrations to your advantage.

It has 7.8 inches of overall length, with just under five inches being usable. It doesn’t bash my cervix during internal use but it’s theoretically long enough to hit the g-spot. It doesn’t hit mine but that is an issue that doesn’t relate to size. Girth wise, there’s a maximum of 4.5 inches around the widest point which is on the slim side for this style of vibrator. It would be a great size for someone who’s new to sex toys/penetration or simply prefers a smaller insertable. Do remember that there’s no flared base so this should never be used for anal.

So it’s marketed as a “g-spot vibrator” but for me it was everything but that. It didn’t do much for me as an internal toy because it didn’t hit the spots it promises to. It’s simply not curved enough for this kind of contact. The head does not differ much in girth from the rest of the shaft and it has a lack of defined curve/angle. It functions better as a classic vibrator from my perspective as it doesn’t have the right shape or definition to work for my g-spot. I like classic vibrators every once in a while although there needs to be at least one of the followings things: a taped tip, texture or a thick girth. This has none of those features so I wasn’t enthused with it at all.

Kiiroo Pearl 2 G-Spot VibratorUntil this point, I couldn’t decide how I felt about the Pearl. I had written a list that consisted of a handful of cons and a handful of pros, with the pros being some of the basic things like rechargeable, body-safe, waterproof etc. I wasn’t particularly impressed as the most important features seemed to have been overlooked (good control panel, shape, dimensions) but then I turned on the motor and the pros list began to look a little brighter.

The vibrations were rumbly and resonate well below the surface. I felt that they were fairly strong and suitable for most users. I can’t say that they’d impress a hardened power queen but they were just about enough to bring me to a clitoral orgasm. I stuck with the constant vibration mode as I didn’t want to frustrate myself trying to change to any of the other functions. The shape isn’t too bad for clitoral stimulation either. I wouldn’t argue with a tapered tip for more precise contact, but broad stimulation can be fun sometimes too.

People seem to be asking for sex toys that do more than just vibrate these days and the Pearl 2 is a perfect example of that. You can pair with a partner through the FeelConnect app and allow them to control the device from anywhere in the world. This is the perfect feature for those of us in long-distance relationships or those who travel often for work as it allows us to be involved in a partners pleasure even from a distance. Other features available include listening to erotica, watching porn videos, engaging in live cam shows, playing games and even VR for those who own headsets.

Overall, there are things I like about Kiiroo’s second generation Pearl but it became apparent to me over time that the focus was on making it interactive, rather than anything else. I would need someone to take a harder look at the build and shape for this to get full marks. The button needs to be raised from the surface more and easier to press whilst the shape needs a revamp and a bit more research. A curve or angled head is the prominent feature of almost every other g-spot marketed sex toy and this lacks that entirely. It needs that if it’s going to be advertised as a toy that will hit that spot successfully. As a clitoral or classic vibrator this could work well for people who like decently powered, deep sensations and want to explore interactive content for the first time.

You can purchase the Pearl 2 ($99/£73.95) in black or purple from Kiiroo.

Review: So Divine Wild Thing Jewelled Booty Plug

During 2017, a few companies have shot up on my radar and So Divine are definitely one of them. I have been rather impressed with the quality of the products they’ve released so far and I adore their message of producing safe, affordable sex toys for all. They started out with mini bullets, single speed bullets, classic vibrators and massaging wands that doubled as internal vibrators. Then they continued to expand their range by launching the first butt plug, a petite toy named the Sweet Sensation. It has been my go-to plug to recommend to first-timers ever since I tried it and I’d hoped they’d add more to their anal offerings. A few weeks ago I received word that they’d added two more sizes and I opted to review the larger of the two, the Wild Thing. I will be purchasing the medium Bootylicious to complete the set and I’ll also be hoping to see some vibrating options appear in the near future.

It arrived in typical So Divine fashion – a simple purple and white box with a product photo on the front. It points out a few key features on the side of the box and some instructions for use on the back. Inside, there’s another box which contains the plug, two changeable jewels, a small velvet storage pouch and the information leaflet that comes with all products. It just gives a quick introduction to the brand and some basic cleaning information.

So Divine Wild Thing Booty Plug

So Divine Wild Thing Booty PlugSo Divine Wild Thing Booty PlugSo Divine Wild Thing Booty Plug

Wild Thing is made from soft silicone. This is of course non-toxic, odourless, hypoallergenic and completely body safe. There are no latex or phthalates involved either. A good, hygienic material is necessary for any sort of sex toy but it’s a must-have for butt stuff. The silky silicone has less resistance to it than many other silicone plugs I’ve encountered so there’s not much unwanted friction to remove. It is an anal toy however so this doesn’t mean you should scrimp on the lubricant as we all know the anus doesn’t lubricate itself. A high quality water based anal concoction is what you’ll need and I’d recommend being generous with it as this is a large plug.

Cleaning wise, silicone can occasionally maintain odours after use but this wasn’t an issue for me. For those who may encounter this problem, just bleach the plug (after removing the jewel) with a 10% bleach solution, place it in the dishwasher on a sanitize setting with no detergent or boil it for a few moments. You should clean with one of the above methods if the plug is going to be used by more than one person otherwise rinsing and spritzing with antibacterial cleaner is more than enough.

The Wild Thing Booty Plug has a traditional shape. It has a pointed tip with a rounded body and a slender neck. It has a circular base complete with changeable jewels that is wider than the plugs widest point to prevent unwanted travel. You should never use anything in your butt that doesn’t have a flared base as they can get sucked up/lost and create awkward hospital visits to get them removed. This plug is perfectly safe, easy to insert with some lube and has not slipped out on me during use. I have no concerns about it traveling or moving out-of-place as the base is both sturdy and secure.

So what are the dimensions? It has an overall length of four inches and an insertable length of 2.3 inches. It’s short and unobtrusive like its smaller counterpart but has a circumference of five inches that provides a filled sensation. It is not huge but it definitely should not be used without some slow build up and experience. I have been engaging in anal play and anal sex for a couple of years now so the size wasn’t an issue for me but those who are new to butt stuff should start with the Sweet Sensation and move on to the Bootylicious before attempting the Wild Thing.

The neck and base of this plug have some flex to them which gives the initial impression that they’d be hard to insert and position but there were no issues with this at all. If anything, it makes insertion easier as I can get the correct angle for comfortable entry. As I’d tried So Divine’s beginner plug I knew that I couldn’t accidentally pop out the crystal when pushing against it, as its supported well by the surrounding silicone, but it can be removed easily to change the jewel to one of the other color options. It comes with a gold, light purple and silver jewel that can be changed when wanted. All three colours look very pretty when worn as they sparkle and reflect the light beautifully. It gives a partner a nice view when wearing it and adds some extra details to a plug that would be plain otherwise. I have enjoyed matching the jewels to the finishing touches on the lingerie I wear and absolutely love the fact that I now have three plugs in one.

In regards to how comfortable this is to wear, I’d say very. This is the kind of plug that I can wear for long-term use without having any discomfort. If large plugs are new to you then build up the wear time slowly to not overwhelm your body and prepare to relubricate as needed. I can wear it for three to four hours without needing to top up as it’s so sleek and soft that additional lubricant isn’t needed until that point. Others may need to add more lube sooner, but this is how it worked out for me.

What do butt plugs do other than look pretty? If being worn by someone with a vagina then it can make the canal feel tighter which can be fun for both parties during intercourse. This size definitely created a more obvious difference than the smaller version which my partner liked. I’m naturally quite tight down there anyway as I do kegel exercises regularly and I haven’t had children but there is a difference when wearing a plug that no amount of kegels could achieve. Plugs also place a subtle but noticeable pressure on the back wall of the vagina which makes PIV more enjoyable for me. I’m not a huge fan of vaginal sex but it is better for me when wearing a plug and I can orgasm pretty easily from the combined stimulation without even adding vibration (something I must have during sex without a plug).

As a result of better sex I’ve been wearing this plug on a regular basis since it arrived. I do think this is a great size for my experience level and being able to wear it comfortably during sex without it slipping out is wonderful. I can orgasm in time (or close to it) with my partner whilst wearing the Wild Thing which makes sex feels more intimate and connecting. It enables me to enjoy a sex act that I’m not usually that bothered about which is great for my partner and allows us to create a deeper sexual bond. I would actively recommend this plug by So Divine to people who can handle the size and I’m looking forward to seeing how they expand their anal range in the coming months.

Review: B-Vibe Trio Vibrating Butt Plug

Before we get into this review, we need to appreciate the anal experts that made this product. B-Vibe do absolutely fantastic work promoting safe and enjoyable anal play. Their products, guides and website are all gender neutral, sexuality neutral and welcoming to every body. They have tons of useful information on their site regarding backdoor fun and I would definitely recommend checking them out if you’re new, curious or unsure about anal stimulation. They have sex toys that are suited to different needs and levels of experience and the one I’m talking about today is the Trio. A vibrating butt plug that houses THREE different motors. I know my fellow power queens interest will be piqued by that and I’m happy to report back to them that I was not disappointed at all. It went above my expectations, proving that the Rimming Butt Plug 2 was not just a wonderful one-off but the first in a long line of greats.

The presentation was perfect. It had an outer cardboard sleeve with glossy product shot on the front, a description on one side, a list of key features on the back alongside some images of couples (bonus points for these pictures including multiple sexualities/ethnicities) and a diagram showcasing where each motor is located inside the plug. Under the sleeve there was a purple storage box with a magnetic side opening that opened to reveal a shiny metallic black case. The case held the plug, remote control, charging cable and a guide to anal play. The user manual was hidden underneath this case.

B-Vibe Trio Vibrating Butt Plug

B-Vibe Trio Vibrating Butt PlugB-Vibe Trio Vibrating Butt PlugB-Vibe Trio Vibrating Butt Plug

B-Vibe’s Trio Vibrating Butt Plug is made from luxurious silicone. It is high-quality, top-grade stuff that I can’t fault at all. It’s completely body-safe which means that it’s free from latex and phthalates, has no odour or nasty toxins and is hypoallergenic. It has a gorgeously soft, silky finish that has minimal drag to its surface and attracts less lint than silicone typically hoards. It requires a full coating of water-based anal lubricant for use as the anus does not self-lubricate. You may need to top up on the lube occasionally if you’re planning on wearing the plug for long periods of time or find it starts getting uncomfortable.

After use, the plug should be thoroughly cleaned with warm soapy water and rinsed off. It is splashproof, not fully waterproof, so don’t fully submerge it or use it in the bath/shower. I avoid wetting the base where possible and use antibacterial toy wipes on this area instead. When rinsed, dry with a lint free cloth or leave to dry naturally. It should be not used or charged until it’s completely dry and it should also not be cleaned with sprays that contain alcohol or acetone.

Rechargeable via a sturdy magnetic system, charging couldn’t be simpler. Just attach the magnetic clip to the points on the base and plug the USB into a suitable port. There should be a flashing light to indicate that the charging process has begun which goes solid once complete. In our experience, the plug takes around an hour and a half to charge and gives approximately the same amount of use time but it depends on the settings that have been used. The accompanying remote control is actually battery operated and comes with one pre-installed CR2032 to get you started. You can access the battery by sliding the back off the remote. Make sure to remove the paper disc inside this compartment before use so that it will actually work.

B-Vibe Trio Vibrating Butt PlugYou then have two control options. Manual control or use of the remote. My partner and I tried out both methods and found that it was easier to use the remote. I do like the option of having multiple methods but it can be difficult to change the setting manually whilst the plug is being worn. I only use the base controls if I don’t plan on changing the function I’m using and I don’t need to alter the intensity of the vibrations. All that’s needed for manual operation is a quick tap of the power button. This cycles through the nine modes and also turns everything off when pressed and held for a few seconds.

Controlling via the remote allows more range over the toys possibilities. To activate, turn the plug into standby mode by pressing the power button until it flashes. Then press the central button on the remote and check that the power button has gone solid to confirm the pairing. To change the vibration modes on the remote press the wave button. You can cycle through the nine options or pause all of the vibrations via this button. Press and hold for three seconds to do this. You can then press again once quickly to restart the vibrations

B-Vibe Trio Vibrating Butt PlugThe remote also allows you to change the intensity of each mode. You press the plus to increase and minus to decrease. There are a total of eight levels to choose from. To turn the toy and remote off, press and hold the power button on the plug for a few seconds and tap the power button on the remote once. To lock, press and hold the plus and minus buttons down together for three seconds or the power button on the plug for five seconds. You can reactivate by either method.

So, I mentioned three motors earlier but I didn’t describe the positioning of each one. There is one in the tip, one in the middle and one in the neck. I like the vibrations in the tip best but I also find the stimulation of the vibration in the neck to provide some external sensations that speed up my orgasms immensely. The vibrations are rumbly with some depth to them on the low to medium intensities but begin to get buzzier on the higher settings. Luckily, my butt doesn’t hate buzziness so this wasn’t a problem. Out of the nine vibration modes that are available, most of them use both of these motors which means I can make use out of nearly all of them. Here’s a list of what each function offers:

B-Vibe Trio Vibrating Butt PlugConstant vibration in the tip,
Constant vibration in the neck,
Constant vibration in the tip and neck,
Constant vibration from all three motors,
Pulsing pattern from all three motors,
Oscillating pattern from all three motors,
Fast paced pulsation pattern from all three motors,
Quick up and down pulsation pattern from all three motors,
Random pattern from all three motors.

I mostly stick to the first four modes as I prefer constant speeds but I don’t hate the patterns on this. I usually use the first and second modes to warm up with and then choose between the other two depending how sensitive I’m feeling. If I want maximum intensity then I’ll use the fourth setting to overwhelm my senses and let the toy force an orgasm from me rather than building to one myself. It’s tons of fun to play with during masturbation sessions alongside a clitoral vibrator like the Tango for maximum stimulation and aggressive orgasms but it’s also glorious during penetrative sex with my partner. It provides the well-known tighter vaginal canal feeling during intercourse and doesn’t get in the way of any of our regular rotation of positions. My partner can even control it from the base in the pronebone position which keeps things interesting.

B-Vibe Trio Vibrating Butt Plug

At just over five inches in overall length with 4.3 of them being insertable, this plug falls into the medium category. It has 3.9 inches of girth at its widest point which makes it suitable for those transitioning from beginner plugs to intermediate options. It’s noticeably slimmer than the Rimming Plug 2 so can be used as a warm-up tool or stepping stone to that.

I thought the size was extremely comfortable and the rounded, but tapered, tip didn’t cause a jabbing sensation like some of the other plugs I’ve tried with this shape. It works well with my body and doesn’t cause much of a stretching sensation during wear, making it perfect for those who don’t have tons of anal experience. I can happily wear the Trio for a few hours without having any problems. I enjoy leaving the remote in the hands of my eager partner, allowing the anticipation of not knowing when he’s going to turn it on to build to the suspense of the session. We had tons of fun with this as a couple and I think it’s definitely got potential to be used for public play providing there’s some background noise available. It works from about 30 meters away so a partner can control it from the next room or across the bar without having connection problems.

Overall, I think I have fallen head over heels for the Trio. I love that it can be used with or without the remote control as this gives various options for use and keeps things interesting. It might be difficult to control from the base but I like that the option is there if I want to use it. I have enjoyed it using it on its own, with other sex toys and with a partner so it’s practically perfect for every sexual situation. It has not disappointed me in the power department and I would not hesitate to recommend it to my fellow power lovers. Often multiple motors make a sex toy loud and obnoxious but B-Vibe have managed to make a manage-a-trois that’s quiet enough to use in public. I salute them.

Review: Klittra of Sweden Oral Wet Vibrator

When I was first contacted about the Klittra of Sweden I have to admit that I was instantaneously intrigued by the concept. It’s not a design or sexual product that I’d ever thought of or imagined I’d need but after doing some background for this review I can see why their idea is a genius one. Every other week in the sex industry I’m emailed about or spot a tweet referring to a ‘new product innovation’ that’s ‘never been done before’ which more often than not turns out to be nothing more than a marketing campaign. It’s usually a product that’s obviously been inspired by something else that’s already been created or not as unique as the advertisement suggests. For once, I found the rare gem that is genuinely unique, different and innovative. It may spark you as being unusual, but does it work?

I for one was not aware that this was a thing, but apparently it’s common on some websites and forums for people to recommend that others transform a bottle of deodorant into a sex toy. It seems that we truly do learn something new every day as I’d never heard of the practice, but when I thought about it, I sort of understood why. I am too conscious about body safe sex practices to experiment with things that aren’t designed to be used near/on my genitals (and even some of those products that are designed but made from crap materials) so it’s something that never occurred to me. For people who aren’t educated about the potential dangers, can’t access sex toys for whatever reason, are embarrassed about buying sex products or feel guilty/shameful about masturbating it makes total sense to look for things in the home that can be converted to pleasure products.

So, why is the deodorant bottle turned sex toy a phenomenon? What do people get from the experience? It’s reported that the wet surface of the roller ball being scrolled across the vulva/vagina/clitoris or anus feels similar to oral sex and stimulates those areas enough to be orgasmic. It has proved to be a popular idea amongst vulva owners that suffer from vaginal dryness as the lubricating factor removes unwanted friction. Klittra of Sweden decided to make this product to transform this increasingly popular practice into an innovative, body-safe sex toy and I have to applaud them for that. Anything that encourages people to engage in safer sex and masturbation habits is news to my ears.

Before we talk about my experiences, let’s cover the basics. Starting with the presentation. The packaging for the Klittra of Sweden is simple and unassuming. It’s a plain white box with logo on the front and user diagram on the back. The only thing I’d change about it is the wording on the top of the box. It currently reads ‘for every girl in the world’ which excludes those who have vulvas that don’t identify as girls/women. I’d love to see more inclusive phrasing for the non-binary folks of the world for future packaging. Inside the box there is the toy itself, a charging cable, instruction manual and sample bottle of lube. A storage bag to keep it all together would be cool but as it can be left out without drawing attention this isn’t essential.

Made from a combination of ABS plastic and silicone, the Klittra of Sweden is totally safe to use. The materials are both non-toxic, odourless, hypoallergenic and phthalate free. Made to a high-standard, this product feels good quality and robust. It’s smooth to the touch, comfortable to hold and doesn’t irritate my nether regions. It is also somewhat waterproof. It can be rinsed but not submerged. It should be cleaned thoroughly before and after each use. Twist the cap off and rinse the inside of each compartment with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly before putting back together.

As this is a vibrating product, it needs to be given some battery life before use. It is rechargeable via the USB charging cable that’s included in the box. The connector should be placed in the port on the bottom of the toy and the USB end into a laptop or computer. A light will flash to indicate that it is charging and go steady once complete. The manual recommends a charge time of one and a half to two hours which can provide up to forty minutes of vibration use. To access the vibrations, press the singular button on the base. Flick through the settings by tapping further and press and hold to turn off.

How does it work? You unscrew the cap, revealing two compartments. The larger compartment with the roller ball on the other side is the one you need to pour lubricant into. Klittra of Sweden do include a sample 30ml bottle of water-based lube but the ingredients may not be suitable for everyone. You can use your lube of choice instead if you’d prefer. It holds the whole contents of the sample bottle but I only place around 10ml inside at a time. When the lube is all poured in, screw the cap back on. Pull it off (rather than twisting) to show the roller ball and position it over the erogenous zone of choice.

I decided to start over my clitoris and honestly, I was not expecting it to work as well as it did. The first movement added a slick coat of lube over the area providing maximum comfort and glide. You can never have too much lube in my opinion so this is a dream come true for me. It provides a fresh application with each movement which feels refreshing and not so far from the feeling of a tongue. The Klittra of Sweden provides a cooling sensation from the lubricant whereas the human tongue provides warmth so there is a difference in that respect but it’s not a bad example of oral sex in toy form. It’s the closest thing to the actual act that I’ve tried thus far. Much better than the flickering tongue types.

The sensation of a roller ball moving around the vulva, and clitoris in particular, is much better than I anticipated. I can get a desirable amount of pressure which is something I personally need for external stimulation and it’s more precise than I imagined too. I did read on the included leaflet that pubic hair could potentially be caught in the space between the roller and the cap, which did not sound pleasant, so I ensured a trim was had before testing it thoroughly. It worked out fine with a high rising landing strip but I wouldn’t use it with hair any closer to my vulva. If you prefer a natural pubic look/feel then this may not be the right product for you. If you have less or even no hair then you theoretically shouldn’t have any problems with pinching.

If the roller motion isn’t enough stimulation for you then there are also vibrations to explore. Five modes of vibration to be exact. Two constant speeds and three patterned settings. As usual, the patterns weren’t for me. I actually found these modes to be more off-putting than usual because I had to line up the motions of the roller with the patterned vibration in order to not end up in a state of frustration and resentment. It was too distracting for me personally. I would have rather just had three speeds/intensities I think.

The two settings that it does have aren’t anything to brag about but I didn’t even need them to be. The combination of the cold lubrication, rolling motion and vibrations were enough to send my body into overdrive. I orgasmed every time I used this product so it’s been promoted to my bedside table for easy access alongside my other most-used sex items. If I can look past buzzy, mediocre vibrations that are mostly limited to base of a toy and don’t travel as well as they could then I know I’m onto something good. I would like the vibrations to travel better than they currently do but this isn’t something I’d insist on changing in order to recommend the toy. It’s just something to keep in mind for any future models that may be made.

My partner was excited about the Klittra of Sweden. We are in a long-distance relationship currently so he’s not always around to provide oral sex when the mood strikes me. This toy offers a suitable replication that can ride me over until he’s able to come back. He even decided to incorporate it into a session himself, alternating between his tongue and the Klittra to get me off in record time. It usually takes about twenty minutes for me to climax from oral, but that halves with the Klittra’s involvement. This stops my partners tongue getting tired before I’m finished and also encourages him to go down more. How could I complain about that?
