Review: Womanizer Plus Size

A few weeks ago, Orion kindly sent me the two new Womanizer models to review. I was super excited to get my hands on this Plus Size model, although I’m still not in love with the name of it. I can see why it was named Plus Size but I feel it might put some people off wanting to use it. Outside of the name, this model seemed to solve a few of my past issues with previous Womanizers straight away, particularly the shape issues I had with the W500. Did it stand up to the test once it was turned on or was it a massive disappointment? Read on to find out!

I really liked the presentation with this model. It arrived in a clean, white and gold box with a few glossy pictures of the product and the Womanizer branding. It’s classic and understated, but definitely nice enough to give as a gift I think. Inside the box, the Plus Size was found amongst the charging cable, adapter, user manual, satin storage pouch and a spare silicone head, which I believe was the larger size. I’m really glad that Womanizer decided to include storage with this model as I was sad one wasn’t included with my Pro 40.

It needed a full charge upon arrival as it arrived with none and this took roughly 120 minutes. This is said to give around 240 minutes of play time (depending on the setting used), which I think is a wonderful ratio. I’ve only needed to recharge it twice so far despite using it regularly since it arrived. To charge, the jack needs to be placed into the port on the toy (which is hidden behind a silicone flap on the base) and the USB into a charging station. I’ve had no issues with the charging process as the LED light helps determine when its taking place, but please note that the product gets quite warm whilst doing so, so it’s best to keep on hard surfaces.

Am I in absolutely love and lust with this sleek long-bodied Womanizer? Yes! The Plus Size has maintained the shape of the original Womanizer creation in terms of shape, but it’s been made on a larger scale. I’m a big fan of a long handle and slim body, which is exactly what this model offers. I find it much easier to control than the W500 and I have a slight preference to it over the W100 and Pro 40. It’s really comfortable to hold, especially for long-term use and it has fantastic button placement. The power button at one end and the plus/minus buttons are at the other, making sure there are no accidents mid use.

Womanizer Plus SizeWhere it differs (other than sheer size) from the W100 and W500 is the design. Out with the days of bright crocodile print, leopard print and gemstone buttons and in with this classic black, white and gold colour scheme that screams luxury. It’s not particularly femme which I think is a bonus as it feels more inclusive to those who have a clitoris but don’t identify as female. It’s also more inviting to those who were put off by previous designs. It looks like a classy sex toy now and I think this is definitely the most luxurious edition of the Womanizer to date.

If you’ve read my reviews of the original models, you’ll remember that I complained that they weren’t waterproof. I cannot do that in my latest set of reviews. Like the Pro 40, the Plus Size is aqua suitable. I’m so glad feedback has been taken on board and listened to as now the cleaning process is much easier. It also gives more options for play and the consensus seems to be that these toys feel better when used in the bath. I like to gently rinse the entire unit and then dry with a cloth before removing the silicone head and washing that more intensively. I generally use a q-tip with antibacterial cleaner on to get any lube and lint residue from the head following each use.

Womanizer Plus SizeAs I mentioned above, I’m fond of the button placement. I think the three-button interface is incredibly easy to understand. Power turns the Womanizer on and off, whilst the other two buttons control the intensity and cycle through the various settings. I love the fact that there’s up and down arrows as I like to be able to go back to a previous setting if I accidentally pass the one I want or opt for too much too soon. There are twelve settings to explore on this clitoral stimulator and I tend to use settings six and above, with the deciding factor being how fast I want to orgasm.

Who do I think is best suited to a toy like the Womanizer? Someone who likes direct clitoral contact. If you are somebody who prefers wands to bullet vibrators, then you might find something like the Womanizer to be too intense even on the lowest settings. It might be too much for someone who’s particularly sensitive too as this stimulation is quite precise. If you’re in either of those situations, you are probably better off with something broader. I personally like both types of stimulation but direct is what gets me off the fastest, which makes a product like this a dream for me.

Womanizer Plus SizeAnd best suited to this particular model? People who prefer longer-handled toys, be that for reasons of comfort or reasons related to a disability or condition. I have weak joints and problems with my wrists, so something longer feels more comfortable to me and I’m able to hold onto it for longer. If you have reach issues with the original Womanizer, then this might be the answer to all your prayers. It doesn’t have much weight to it, so people with motor issues/mobility issues should have no issues with holding this upright.

In terms of how the stimulation feels, I can’t really fault it. It’s quite apparent by now that this technology really works for me and the Womanizer Plus Size didn’t change that. It has a great range of intensities and I can force an orgasm out of myself in less than a minute with setting 12. I can enjoy orgasmic bliss with the majority of the higher settings though. The lower settings are great for occasions where I want to do some teasing or prolong an orgasm. The Womanizer Plus Size is such a reliable orgasm-achieving device for me and I think it’s a massive improvement on the original model. It’s not going to be a product that works so quickly for everybody, but I do think it will be great for those who enjoy direct clitoral stimulation.

Womanizer Plus SizeOn the topic of describing the sensations, I think there’s a factor that’s worth mentioning. The choice of head can make all the difference. I am fond of the regular heads as I think these work best with my body and preferences. These heads make the pressure feel more precise than the larger ones in my opinion. The larger heads take away some of the intensity for me personally, but I will use them on occasion if I don’t want to orgasm within five minutes. I have a smaller clitoris, so that might be the reasoning behind that. Those who have a larger clitoris might find the opposite occurs.

Noise is one of the first things that I’m asked about regarding these toys, so it’s worth repeating that none of these stimulators are completely quiet due to the mechanisms involved. I do think noise is an important factor for a lot of people, so if you’re one of them, this is a model I’d suggest steering away from. This is louder than the other Womanizer models in my opinion, but I find it tolerable and just opt to use it whenever I get the house to myself or I take it in the bath to muffle the sound. If something as quiet as possible is essential, then you’re left with two choices. The W100 and the Pro 40. If you don’t need the additional intensity, then the W100 is the best of the bunch.

In conclusion, I loved the Womanizer Plus Size. I love the elegant aesthetics that this offers, the variety of intensities and the sleek, easy-to-use control panel. I find this the most comfortable of the four current Womanizer models, just because of the long body, but it’s not as easy to carry around as the smaller Pro 40. It is definitely a step in a fantastic direction for the brand and I hope they continue to do things like this, rather than bringing out more garish designs. It has everything I could want in a clitoral stimulator and I’m excited to see how they can improve on this. The only downside of this model is the noise, but hey, I can live with it in exchange for getting my mind-blown on a nightly basis.

Review: Womanizer Pro W500

I was sent the Womanizer to review a couple of months ago, but unfortunately I had a few personal issues to contend with and then I wanted to do some thorough testing. I also got the Womanizer W100 during that time so I wanted to compare them and include the differences in this review. To keep this introduction short and sweet, I’m sorry for the delay but I have come to the conclusion that the Womanizer W500 is definitely a toy I’m going to be obsessing over for months to come.

I was super impressed with the presentation of my package, I found my Womanizer and bottle of lubricant, along with a letter contained inside a cute Womanizer bag. I’ll definitely be keeping this as it’s too pretty to throw away, although I’m not sure I’ll get much use from it! The outer box for the Womanizer is much cleaner than I thought it would be, it’s very classic and understated with just a couple of pictures of the toy and the brand name. Inside the box lay the toy and a satin storage pouch, spare XL head, charging cable, adapter and the manual.

I opted for the mint lace colour/pattern scheme as it’s totally different to anything I have in my collection. I don’t have much green in my toybox unfortunately, so if I have the option, I will choose it and I did! I think this is one of the better looking designs that Womanizer currently offer, as I’m not crazy about the leopard print varieties. It has the perfect amount of detailing and is actually very pretty in person. I have to admit that I’m still not crazy about the sparkly button, but it turns out it’s not just the aesthetics I dislike, but I’ll get back to that later.

I quite like the shape of the W500 as it seems to fit perfectly in the palm of my hand and the petite size makes it easier to store by my bed, but the shape of the W100 is my preferred build for this toy, especially when using for longer periods of time. I like the placement of the buttons on this model as they aren’t in the way, but they are easy to access when required. The longer button controls the intensity and is really easy  to operate. Simply press the + to increase and the – to decrease, then press the power button to turn off. The power button is the sparkly button I mentioned earlier and this is where my other problem with it begins. I can’t get away with not touching it as it turns the toy on and off, which is unfortunate as I find this button to be painful at times. It’s just so stiff and rigid that its extremely difficult to push down and the slightly pointed tip causes discomfort.

Before getting stuck in, I gave the Womanizer a full charge. I didn’t need to use the included adapter as I simply plugged the USB into a charging port and opened up the small flap on the front of the toy and inserted the jack. I did find this to be slightly fiddly at first, but this seems to have gotten easier over time. The head flashes green whilst the toy is charging and this becomes steady once the charge is complete. A full charge seems to take around 120 minutes, which offers up 240 minutes of play time, which is a fantastic ratio. So far, I have only needed to recharge it a handful of times, despite almost daily use. The only issue I’ve encountered and maintained with charging is that it seems to make the body of the Womanizer quite warm.

The Womanizer has grabbed the attention of many and has intrigued sex toy enthusiasts across the world, but it’s not going to be suitable for everyone. I think this is a toy that is best suited to those who enjoy direct/pin-point clitoral stimulation. If you prefer broad stimulation, you might find the Womanizer to be too intense, even on the lower settings. I think this toy is very interesting, as it doesn’t just vibrate, it offers suction. It’s a pretty exciting development in the sex toy industry and I love the way it blows cool air around the clitoris whilst it flutters.

As I mentioned above, there are two heads to choose from. The regular and the larger head. I’ve read many reviews of people preferring the larger head, but honestly, I prefer the smaller, regular size. I am a huge fan of clitoral stimulation and extremely direct contact, which is what the smaller head provides. The larger head still provides me with the same stimulation, but it doesn’t feel as intense as the smaller size, due to the larger surface area. To sum it up, the smaller head is for when I just want a quick release and the larger head is for longer sessions and/or multiple orgasms.

Once I’ve found the perfect position, I can just lay back (after wrestling with the power button) and let the Womanizer do all the work. I do like to apply a smidge of lubricant to the silicone nozzle as this makes use more comfortable, but the amount I need is minimal. There are eight modes to choose from, starting at a gentle tickle working to a more intense suction setting. This has two more modes than the W100 and those are 2 that I definitely needed. I don’t think the W100 is always strong enough for me, but the W500 hasn’t let me down in that aspect yet. I must admit I’m a power queen and although this isn’t technically a vibrator, the highest settings penetrate below the surface of my clitoris and send me to orgasm central in less than a minute. I don’t find myself pushing the + button to increase further, which is something I have done with the W100.

The Womanizer is not the quietest toy, but it does dissipate as it makes contact with the skin. It can still be heard, but it’s not as loud. It cannot be heard from the next room, unless the house is completely silent. I usually use background music when using this toy as I do still live at home and can’t always have the house to myself.

As for cleaning, this toy is unfortunately not waterproof other than the silicone head, which can be removed. I usually apply a couple of squirts of toy cleaner, rinse and leave to dry before putting back on. I then wipe the rest of the toy down with antibacterial wipes.

Overall, I absolutely love the power of the W500 and without a doubt, I prefer this one over the W100 purely because of that. There are aspects of both that I really like and if I could merge them all into one toy then I think it would be so close to perfect. I’d take the buttons from the W100 along with the shape and the included case then I’d take the power and design from the W500. I was quite disappointed there is no case with the more expensive version of the Womanizer, especially at its retail price! This toy is highly expensive, but it is a fantastic, quality product and I would recommend it, although a waterproof version with all the mixed qualities I listed above would be even better.

I received the Womanizer W500 in Mint Lace from Orion in exchange for my honest review. Thanks! You can now purchase the Womanizer W500 from Lovehoney for £169.99.

Review: Coco de Mer Double Pleasure Artisan Glass Dildo

When I saw the Coco de Mer Double Pleasure Artisan Glass Dildo for the first time, I fell in love. I couldn’t justify spending so much money on a dildo that didn’t look as though it offered anything special other than branding and perhaps being well annealed, so I simply added it to my wish list and waited prayed for a sale. I was browsing the Coco de Mer site recently and noticed it was 50% off, which was good enough for me. £80 seemed more reasonable than £170. It’s still the most expensive piece of glass I’ve ever purchased, but I’m really glad to have it in my collection.

All Coco orders are picked, packed and passed to Royal Mail from Lovehoney’s warehouse, so are as discreet as a regular Lovehoney order is. The only difference is that Coco orders are all wrapped beautifully within burgundy tissue paper that is then sealed with a Coco sticker. There’s no outer packaging for the dildo itself, which is disappointing considering it’s so expensive, bubble wrap and a layer of foam to protect the toy is about as good as it gets.

The Double Pleasure Glass Dildo is made from super-strong borosilicate glass and feels extremely sturdy. It seems to be crafted beautifully and is absolutely immaculate in terms of quality. There are no faults I can find with the build at all. Being made from glass means that this toy can be used with any type of lubricant that you wish, although I wouldn’t recommend using water-based if you’re going to use it in the shower as it will be diluted/washed away by the water. I usually opt for Lovehoney’s Slick Silicone Lubricant in the shower and Coco de Mer Divine Glow in the bedroom. Glass is fully waterproof so is super easy to clean with toy cleaner and a rinse, although sometimes fluids can get caught in the texture, so I like to leave an old toothbrush near by just in case a further clean is necessary.

One reason that I adore glass so much is because it’s a completely body-safe, non-porous, non-toxic and hypoallergenic material that can be chilled or warmed up for versatile temperature play. I personally prefer my glass to be chilled, but warm dildos can be enticing on occasion. I usually opt to leave the toy in a bowl of water of my chosen temperature for around 20 minutes or so before use, but you could also place it in the fridge if you wish.

This might be the largest glass toy I own standing at 10.5 inches with an insertable length of 10 inches. Depending on how generous my cervix is feeling, I can comfortably take seven inches vaginally, but I’ve found most of my glass toys are this length in total providing only 4 or 5 inches of insertable material to work with. I really appreciate the extra length of this toy as it means I can make the most of the seven insertable inches I crave with a well-needed gripping space for my hands to rest whilst manoeuvering the toy. It has just 4.25 inches of girth at the widest point, which means that this toy is slimline, comfortable and should be manageable for the majority of people.

As you may have guessed by the name of this dildo, it’s double-ended, which makes it twice as fun as a regular glass dildo. I prefer my glass to be dual ended because it simply offers versatility, which keeps my interest peaked for longer. You can use this toy alone or with a partner, although I don’t think it can be used on two people at the same time due to the S shape, a C shape is probably much better for this purpose. Dual dildos like this one have two different textured ends, which offer completely different stimulation and although I found this dildo provided stimulation of the same sort, each end provided sensations in a totally different way.

I opted for the nubby textured end first, as this seemed to be the most appealing to me, maybe because I love the Lovehoney Nubby, or maybe it just simply felt the best of the two, I’m not sure. It turned out that I was right about this end and this is now my preference when I come to use this toy. The texture of the Double Pleasure feels much gentler than that of the Nubby, due to the texture being less defined. It still provides great stimulation though, in similar ways that the Nubby does. This side feels great when rubbed against the clitoris prior to insertion and once it’s inside, my walls seem to fold around the texture and never want to release it. It provides such a glorious internal massage whilst hitting my g-spot simultaneously and the combination of the two sends my eyes rolling back into my head.

I opt to thrust with this end as I find that’s the most comfortable and beneficial way of using it, I find that the texture combined with the firm pressure it places against my G-spot is enough to bring me to an orgasm pretty fast. I like to clench around the dildo as I slide it in and out quickly, feeling each bit of the texture as the pressure mounts against the delicateness of my g-spot. I have been able to squirt when using this end of the toy and overall I find it the most satisfying of the two. I don’t need a clitoral vibrator to get off with this side of the Double Pleasure, but I do when using the other end.

The other end is undulating and bulbed, with the same rounded head as the nubbed side, which makes insertion very uncomfortable. I noticed immediately that this end wasn’t as stimulating, which is possibly because there’s not much size difference between the bulbs and I spoiled myself with the heavier textured end first. It still felt marvellous though as it still hit my g-spot with fantastic precision. Without the help of some internal bliss like the nodules provided, I couldn’t orgasm alone with this so I involved my trusty Tango and begun thrusting. I soon realised thrusting wasn’t the way to go and twisting is actually the best method for this end. When I twist the toy, I begin to notice the raised bulbs which increases stimulation and stirs me on to keep going for the finale. I do find myself craving for the nubby texture again as I get closer to orgasm though.

I found a better way to make use of this side and that is for a completely different kind of stimulation. This toy is long enough that I can use it to find and torment my a-spot. I’ve recently begun experimenting more with stimulating this area and am finding that the more I practice, the more I enjoy it. I was worried that the Double Pleasure might miss and end up hitting my cervix, but so far (and touch wood) this hasn’t happened yet. I’m yet to be disappointed by the intense a-spot stimulation I get from this toy and think it’s going to make regular appearances as I discover more about this sensitive spot and what it enjoys. As I thrust this toy towards the direction of my a-spot, I notice a buzz building up inside me, my blood beginning to rush to the surface and a very sudden sensitivity. This is closely followed by what I can only describe as a mind-blowing climax.

Coco de Mer Double Pleasure Glass Artisan Dildo 3Overall, I’ve had a lot of enjoyment from the Double Pleasure so far and I think there’s plenty more where that came from. I really enjoy the variety of sensations and I adore the ample length, slim girth and gratifying texture. It’s a high-quality and well made handblown glass piece, although I don’t think it’s worth the bank-breaking price tag. It might be Coco branded and handmade, but I think £120 would be the most I’d pay for this.
