Review: Kiiroo Pearl 2 Interactive G-Spot Vibrator

Every year there seems to be a rise in the amount of sex toy designs that are created to be used with apps, websites, remotes, partners, headsets and other interactive resources. I think this is a category that’s only going to continue to grow and improve as the demands for these products increase. Technology is becoming more prevalent within all areas of life so it makes sense that it’s now reaching the sex toy market at full force. When I was presented with the opportunity to test out a new and improved interactive idea from Kiiroo, I was looking forward to seeing how this teledildonic device would work in practice and what exactly it could do that similar options couldn’t.

Kiiroo’s Pearl 2 comes in a white and purple box with a product shot on the front, specs on one side and a brief description plus the compatible interactive features listed on the back. Inside, the toy rests upon some foam casing alongside the charging cable, warranty card, quick set-up guide and a little card that tells you where to find the full user manual. The warranty is for one year after purchase and can be registered at this section of their website. A downside to the contents of the box was the lack of storage. It’s disappointing to me as this retails at just under $100 and it wouldn’t have upped the cost much to throw in a drawstring pouch.

It has been made from a smooth silicone that feels decent to the touch and has all the usual benefits of being the only soft material that’s completely body safe without being rock hard. It is odourless, non-toxic, phthalate free and hypoallergenic. It is soft but has a ton of drag to its surface so a thicker water-based lubricant has been required for comfortable, friction-free use. It attracts lint, not obsessively so, but it’s fully waterproof so can be rinsed before each use to remove traces of fluff and pet hair. After use, soapy water and a thorough rinse will clean it up perfectly.

Charging wise, there is a port located on the base that is covered with self-healing silicone. Stiff at first but this becomes easier after several charges. The light on the front will blink slowly to indicate that it’s charging and turn to a steady green glow once complete. A full refresh takes about two hours and gives around an hour of use. There are two other light alerts to watch out for. Red and flashing means the battery is running low and yellow means there’s an update that needs checking or an error has occurred.

To control the Pearl, there is one button. Power on by pressing down for four seconds, a solid blue colour will show to indicate the Bluetooth mode has been activated, press again for a white light to head to touch sensitive mode. Each press after that goes to a preset mode of vibration. To turn off press and hold down again for a few seconds. Having just one button sounds simple and practical, but for me, it caused massive frustration and broken nails. I have brittle nails, amongst other brittle areas of my body, and they bent back and snapped every time I tried to connect with the button. This is because it’s stiff and not raised enough. It doesn’t stick out enough to be comfortable to interact with and its hard to find in the dark even with the light glistening. It irritated the hell out of me and would absolutely need to be improved on a future version for me to consider getting one.

Kiiroo Pearl 2 G-Spot VibratorAs mentioned above there are a couple of settings that aren’t preset vibrations and that may leave some questions lingering. So to answer them, the Bluetooth mode is the only one that can be used to receive signals from a partner. You have to go to the website feelme (or the FeelConnect app) to set up the device to connect with a partner or use the interactive content provided.

Follow the instructions given to pair the Pearl to the website or app. The touch sensitive mode is almost self explanatory. It responds intuitively to touch, making the surface vibrate whenever it comes into contact with the body. You can see from the guide where the sensitive zones are to figure out how to target the vibrations to your advantage.

It has 7.8 inches of overall length, with just under five inches being usable. It doesn’t bash my cervix during internal use but it’s theoretically long enough to hit the g-spot. It doesn’t hit mine but that is an issue that doesn’t relate to size. Girth wise, there’s a maximum of 4.5 inches around the widest point which is on the slim side for this style of vibrator. It would be a great size for someone who’s new to sex toys/penetration or simply prefers a smaller insertable. Do remember that there’s no flared base so this should never be used for anal.

So it’s marketed as a “g-spot vibrator” but for me it was everything but that. It didn’t do much for me as an internal toy because it didn’t hit the spots it promises to. It’s simply not curved enough for this kind of contact. The head does not differ much in girth from the rest of the shaft and it has a lack of defined curve/angle. It functions better as a classic vibrator from my perspective as it doesn’t have the right shape or definition to work for my g-spot. I like classic vibrators every once in a while although there needs to be at least one of the followings things: a taped tip, texture or a thick girth. This has none of those features so I wasn’t enthused with it at all.

Kiiroo Pearl 2 G-Spot VibratorUntil this point, I couldn’t decide how I felt about the Pearl. I had written a list that consisted of a handful of cons and a handful of pros, with the pros being some of the basic things like rechargeable, body-safe, waterproof etc. I wasn’t particularly impressed as the most important features seemed to have been overlooked (good control panel, shape, dimensions) but then I turned on the motor and the pros list began to look a little brighter.

The vibrations were rumbly and resonate well below the surface. I felt that they were fairly strong and suitable for most users. I can’t say that they’d impress a hardened power queen but they were just about enough to bring me to a clitoral orgasm. I stuck with the constant vibration mode as I didn’t want to frustrate myself trying to change to any of the other functions. The shape isn’t too bad for clitoral stimulation either. I wouldn’t argue with a tapered tip for more precise contact, but broad stimulation can be fun sometimes too.

People seem to be asking for sex toys that do more than just vibrate these days and the Pearl 2 is a perfect example of that. You can pair with a partner through the FeelConnect app and allow them to control the device from anywhere in the world. This is the perfect feature for those of us in long-distance relationships or those who travel often for work as it allows us to be involved in a partners pleasure even from a distance. Other features available include listening to erotica, watching porn videos, engaging in live cam shows, playing games and even VR for those who own headsets.

Overall, there are things I like about Kiiroo’s second generation Pearl but it became apparent to me over time that the focus was on making it interactive, rather than anything else. I would need someone to take a harder look at the build and shape for this to get full marks. The button needs to be raised from the surface more and easier to press whilst the shape needs a revamp and a bit more research. A curve or angled head is the prominent feature of almost every other g-spot marketed sex toy and this lacks that entirely. It needs that if it’s going to be advertised as a toy that will hit that spot successfully. As a clitoral or classic vibrator this could work well for people who like decently powered, deep sensations and want to explore interactive content for the first time.

You can purchase the Pearl 2 ($99/£73.95) in black or purple from Kiiroo.

Review: Lovehoney Desire Rimming Butt Plug

As a big fan of Lovehoney’s Desire collection of affordable luxury sex toys and a lover of butt plugs, I was excited to be given the chance to review the latest addition to the range. I tried this remote-controlled vibrating plug recently, which is similar, but the one I’m talking about today also offers rimming features. I was looking forward to seeing how Lovehoney’s Rimming Plug would hold up in comparison to the previously tried, tested and totally fabulous B-Vibe 2. It was made with tons of reviews and snippets of customers feedback in mind, as per the rest of the range, so I hoped that it would be just as gratifying as its predecessor. Did Lovehoney successfully pull this off or should they have left this design to the anal experts? Read on to find out my verdict!

The Desire Rimming Butt Plug arrived in a classy purple and black box with a product shot on the front and traditional Lovehoney heart on the back. Inside the outer box, a gorgeous leather storage case with the same heart logo embossed onto the front is revealed. I am obsessed with these cases as they are really convenient, discreet and can even be locked for extra privacy. Another thing that sets them apart from the bog standard storage pouches is the charging hole that leads out of the back of the cases. It’s beyond useful for charging toys securely and keeping them out of the sight of minors, nosy relatives and pets. It also keeps lint at bay.

Made from a gorgeously silky soft silicone, this plug feels luxurious and high-quality. It doesn’t have as much resistance to it as the previous plug I reviewed from the Desire range but a generous coating of water-based anal lubricant would still be recommended to remove any traces and make insertion and wear more comfortable. I would recommend something slick and long-lasting such as Sliquid Sassy or Lovehoney’s Discover. After use, this waterproof plug should be rinsed thoroughly in warm water and cleaned with soap or antibacterial toy cleaner. If you’re sharing it with a partner then I’d insist on wiping  down with a 10% bleach solution instead.

Like the rest of the range, this plug is rechargeable. Plug the USB connector into a port in your laptop or other suitable spot then place the jack at the other end of the cable into the base of the plug. A light flashes whilst charging and remains on when finished. It is said to take around two hours for a full charge and this can give up to an hour of use depending on the settings used. You’ll know the battery is running low when the light flashes to indicate this. The remote is not rechargeable but it does come with the required CR2032 battery. Just slide the back of the remote off and remove the paper disc from underneath before getting started.

To turn on manually, press the button on the base quickly once and wait for the light to flash. A second push will activate the first mode and each further push will cycle through the remaining four modes. To turn off, press and hold for three seconds. To control via the remote, press the button on the plugs base, wait for the flash and then press the central button on the controller. The plug should then start on mode one. To change modes press the central button again. To change the intensity of the vibrations press the up or down arrows as needed. When vibration and rotation are both present (settings 2 through 5) the rotation speed maintains at maximum.

If you travel with your toys then you’ll be pleased to know this plug has a travel lock. I don’t leave the house much so I don’t often use mine, but it’s nice to know it’s there. It can also come in handy if you have a packed toy drawer and don’t want to risk anything randomly buzzing away in the middle of the night as it pushes up against something else. To activate the lock, press and hold the plugs button for five seconds. A light should flash twice to indicate that it worked. To deactivate, repeat the process or plug it in to charge.

Enough of the basics, let’s talk about the modes. The first is a fast rotation that can be felt throughout the entire bulb and neck of the plug. It feels different to b-vibe’s plug as the rotation there was limited to the neck. If you prefer widespread sensations then this might be the better of the two for you. The second mode continues with the same steady rotation but also adds in some constant vibration. These vibes are primarily located in the base but can travel up to the neck too. Mode three is a pulsing rotation and stop and start of buzzing vibrations. Mode four alternates between rotation and vibration and mode five is like a sped-up version of four.

I use modes one and two 95% of the time. It’s no secret that I enjoy constant vibration and the same seems to apply with rotation. Both of these settings offer me that. I feel that the first mode is perfect for the start of a session for warming up and building the tension and the second mode brings out the big guns needed to bring me to the point of no return. I was seriously surprised by the intensity of the vibrations as I was expecting them to be an afterthought to the rotation/rimming mechanism but they’re actually rumbly and everything I look for in solid vibes.

Although the vibrations are mostly situated within the plugs base, they seem to travel up to the neck well and stimulate the entrance of my butt in a way that I’ve only ever experienced with the other rimming plug in our collection. I’m very sensitive around this area and I think both butt plugs work to this sensitivity uniquely. The Desire Plug offers some extra external stimulation from the vibrations whereas b-vibe’s offer internal stimulation and focuses solely on the sensation of rimming around the entrance. If you prefer your sensations all in one place (the sphincter, entrance and skin around those areas) then I would suggest this plug over the other. If you want internal vibes as well as entrance and sphincter stimuli then I’d opt for b-vibe’s.

Lovehoney Desire Rimming Butt Plug

Lovehoney Desire Rimming Butt PlugLovehoney Desire Rimming Butt PlugLovehoney Desire Rimming Butt Plug

So, does this rimming plug actually replicate rimming? I would say that it’s not far off. Rimming is a hard sensation to replicate and I think this is a great attempt at capturing the motions. Any mechanical movement is going to feel somewhat different to the movement of someone’s muscles but I must admit that my body reacts in a similar way to this plug as it does to my partner. I can orgasm powerfully with the Desire Plug and I think that’s due to the combination of the rotation tickling all the right sweet spots back there and the extra oomph from the vibrations around the opening.

My partner and I have affectionately named this plug the ‘rocket launcher’ as that seemed most-fitting when describing the shape. It’s super comfortable to wear and insert and the measurements are more than manageable for intermediate anal players. It has a maximum circumference of four and a half inches, overall length of four and a half inches and an insertable length of three and a half. It has a sturdy flared base to prevent unwanted travel and it doesn’t get in the way during PIV. I thought the base might be too chunky at first and prevent vaginal entry but all turned out good. It doesn’t interfere at all and as it has all the extra sensation I could ever need I don’t even need to add a clit vibe into the mix.

Overall, I think the Desire Rimming Plug will be a roaring success for Lovehoney. I’m glad to see them creating something like this as an affordable alternative to the b-vibe 2 as I feel that more people will now be able to explore rimming sensations. I think the shape of this one worked slightly better for me and this one is also a little quieter which makes it the best choice for those who need discretion. It has all the features I could ask for – body-safe material, waterproof, rechargeable, included storage, sturdy flared base, powerful motor and interesting shape. I would be happy to recommend this to anyone who is looking to explore a new kind of anal play who has some experience with insertables.

Review: Ann Summers Moregasm Contour Rampant Rabbit

When I started reviewing sex toys a couple of years ago I thought of it as just a bit of fun, but then I became more interested in it and started to dream about road testing some products for one of the most popular sex shops in the UK, Ann Summers. I recently was given the opportunity to do just that and naturally I couldn’t say yes fast enough. I asked for a couple of rabbit vibrators as I don’t have many of those in my collection and we all know that these toys are what Ann Summers are famous for. I had tried a couple of the battery operated models before on behalf of Cara Sutra’s Pleasure Panel, but as there’s such a huge range I wanted to try a few more and hopefully get my hands on one of their rechargeable options. The Moregasm Contour is one of their more expensive Rampant Rabbits, so read on to find out what it has to offer and see whether it’s worth the price tag or whether it’s best to stick to the classics.

The parcel arrived quickly and I was pleased with the presentation. The Moregasm Contour Rampant Rabbit comes in a black and pink box with a product shot on the front. There’s some key features listed on the side of the packaging and an overview and description on the back. The box has a magnetic cover on the front that I thought was going to lead to a viewing window but it actually leads to another cover with some further information about the product inside. Opening that up I found the Contour inside some plastic casing and the charging cable and user leaflet underneath.

Ann Summers have really treated their customers with this one as it’s made from a gorgeous dual density silicone that moulds to the body. I’ve never tried a dual density rabbit before so this was news to me and a welcome change from the regular silicone bunnies I’ve owned. Dual density silicone is no different to regular in that it’s hypoallergenic, odourless, free from latex and phthalates, non-toxic and easy to clean but it’s definitely different in terms of texture. It’s silky smooth and luxurious to the touch with barely any drag, but it has more give to it than regular silicone would. It still requires a coating of water-based lubricant though of course and attracts some level of lint and cat fur.

It’s listed as 100% waterproof so it can be rinsed thoroughly with warm water before each use to remove any traces of the above mentioned lint. After use, the Contour should be rinsed again with warm soapy water or sex toy cleaner and dried with a lint free cloth. It doesn’t come with any storage which is slightly disappointing considering the amount it costs, but Ann Summers do sell storage bags for their rabbits separately so I’d recommend picking one up to keep this in tip-top shape.

Ann Summers Moregasm Contour Rampant RabbitThe Moregasm Contour is a rechargeable vibrator and arrives with some initial charge, maybe around fifteen minutes worth of use or so. I experimented and played around with the settings during this time then set it up to charge properly. I placed the USB into my laptop and the jack into the barely visible port on the base of the toy. It flashes whilst charging then becomes solid once complete, but there’s no time frame as to how long this should take noted in the manual, so I’d have to guess based on my experiences and say an hour and a half to two. This gave me roughly an hour of use.

One thing I love about this rabbit is the control panel. It’s not the most obvious to view, but it is simple to get to know and understand. It has three buttons. The bottom button is located on the R near the base of the rabbit and this turns the toy on and off when pressed and held for a few seconds. A solid light will come on once the rabbit is turned on and ready to use. You can then press the ‘ears’ of the R to activate the vibrations in the individual arms. The left side controls the motor in the external arm and the right controls the internal. Just tap each one to start the vibrations and press up to six times to cycle through the functions. This is great as you can use each arm on a different setting depending on your preferences or even have one turned off if you wish.

Ann Summers Moregasm Contour Rampant RabbitIt has just over seven inches of overall length with four and a half inches being insertable. The maximum girth is around the head and measures in at 4.75 inches. It makes it one of the larger rabbits on the market, but not the biggest, and in no way unmanageable for most. I probably wouldn’t recommend this to a complete beginner as I feel the girth may be too much too soon but anyone with penetration experience or similar sized toys in their repertoire should be fine.

The give to the silicone that I mentioned earlier is particularly prevalent around the head of the shaft which makes it extremely comfortable to insert and thrust with. I was glad to discover that the ears are still firm as I require hard clitoral contact and I can get that from these as needed. It has a similar sized clitoral arm to the Ann Summers The Curved One Rampant Rabbit that I reviewed previously which makes it a great fit for me. It’s fairly short and as my clitoris is close to my entrance, this length is ideal for me. It manages to rest directly on the clitoris, which is great for getting that precise contact I need.

Ann Summers Moregasm Contour Rampant RabbitSo, there are three speeds and three patterns to choose from in both the ears and the shaft and the differences in the types of vibrations was rather obvious to me. The clitoral arms vibrations sound noticeably more high-pitched and that’s because they are. I’d classify them as buzzy but tolerable, although I can’t have them on for long as I think they become numbing after a certain point.

The shaft has a rumbly motor, particularly on the first two settings. I can feel a deep, low hum that feels insanely good and is by far my preferred type of vibration. If I’m honest I’d have preferred these sensations to be swapped around as I prefer rumbles externally and don’t mind buzzing so much internally. The strength of both arms was fantastic though and reaching an orgasm through them was not a difficult task.

The bulbous head and gentle curvature make the shaft divine for internal stimulation but unfortunately I couldn’t get it on board with my g-spot. It did try and cuddle up against it but the head was a bit too squishy for my bodies preferences and I couldn’t get the pressure I needed. It still felt enjoyable for general vaginal stimulation due to its satisfying girth and shape, but it wasn’t out of this world amazing without the help of the clitoral arm. If you are not used to or don’t need as much firmness or pressure against your g-spot, you might get something out of the Contour this way but for me, it was sadly not meant to be.

Noise wise, I don’t think this is a loud rabbit. It’s not the quietest one I have, but it’s not as noisy as the battery operated versions of the Rampant Rabbit that I’ve tried. I’d still suggest closing the bedroom door and playing some sort of background music if others are home though. Just to be sure.

Overall, the Moregasm Contour is definitely a luxurious rabbit and that’s apparent from the second it’s removed from the box. If you can afford to splash out on a dual stimulator that will last a long time, then this one is one to consider. It’s dual density body feels exceptional. It’s smooth, elegant and the squish that makes insertion so comfortable is a dream come true. The dimensions are ideal for experienced toy users or those used to penetration and for bodies with similar anatomy to mine I’d highly recommend it. I love the control panel, the way it’s been designed and the overall feel this has. In my opinion, I know this is more expensive than some of the other Rampant Rabbits but if you look after it then you should have many happy years together.

Review: Nomi Tang Wild Rabbit

I was pretty impressed with the presentation of the two Nomi Tang products I received. The boxes are classy and simple, which is exactly how I like it. There’s a glossy outer box featuring product photos and branding and a sturdy storage box inside housing the vibrator. Alongside the Wild Rabbit there was a small instruction manual and charging cable. This vibrator does not come with a storage pouch, but it can be stored in the gift box, so I’ll excuse it.

Nomi Tang Wild Rabbit

Nomi Tang Wild RabbitNomi Tang Wild RabbitNomi Tang Wild Rabbit

Being made from FDA grade silicone, this toy is completely free from phthalates and latex. It’s odourless, non-toxic and hypoallergenic too. If body safety is as high up on your radar as it is on mine, you’ll be pleased to know that this passes all the tests. The particular silicone that Nomi Tang use is of the smooth, matte variety but is slightly rougher than some of the others on the market. I mean this in the sense that it has a fair amount of drag upon the surface. I don’t think it’s hugely indifferent from the feel of Fun Factory’s silicone, which I love, and I wouldn’t consider it to be a bad thing at all. Just be prepared and keep a bottle of water-based lubricant on hand to lather both arms.

After each use, the Wild Rabbit can be rinsed with toy cleaner or soap and water. It’s waterproof up to 1 meter and I’ve had no issues when rinsing it or using it in the shower thus far. I haven’t taken it into the bath as I don’t tend to use toys there, so I can’t vouch for that. In terms of lint, this attracts about as much as I expected. It’s pretty typical for silicone, so make sure to rinse before each use. It’s not fun to press cat hair and fluff up against your crotch. It needs to be left to dry fully or be dried with a damp cloth before being turned on though.

Nomi Tang Wild RabbitMine did not come with any charge so I placed it on for a full revamp before use. To do so, simply place the jackpin into the port on the base and the USB into a suitable spot. You must ensure that the jack is pushed inside fully or the charging will not commence. It was a bit stiff the first few times, as was also the case with the pin of the Better Than Chocolate 2, but it has eased up over time. You’ll know that it’s in properly once you see the red light flashing on the front of the vibrator. It turns blue once it has finished. A full charge takes about two hours and this can provide up to fifty minutes of use depending on the settings used.

To turn the Wild Rabbit on, press the power button for a couple of seconds. You can tap it further to cycle through the ten vibration patterns and press and hold for a couple of seconds to turn off. If you wish to activate or deactivate the travel lock press the power button until the blue light flashes twice. Then there’s the innovative touch slider that is used to adjust the intensity of the vibrations. You just slide your finger up or down it depending on the intensity that you want. I really like this feature as I think it’s pretty unique and cool. I haven’t seen this on any other vibrators bar the other that I recently reviewed for Nomi Tang and I have a whole bunch of them, so that’s rare. Props to this brand for doing something different.

The are three motors in this vibrator. One in the clit arm, one in the head of the shaft and one in the body. The placements of these motors ensures that the vibrations travel well throughout the usable areas of the toy. These can be used independently with certain functions which creates a whole manner of possible sensations and scenarios to choose from. I actually like some of the vibration patterns because of the multiple motors, which is a surprise to me. I generally don’t like patterns, but there is a couple I do like on the Wild Rabbit. One is just a selection of high-powered surges and the other is an alternation between the shafts motors and the clitoral arms motor. I still prefer the first setting, constant vibration, but it’s nice to have other options for a change.

Nomi Tang Wild RabbitI was expecting mid-range power from this vibrator after my experiences with the Better Than Chocolate 2, but I was in for a welcomed surprise. When turned up to full intensity, the Wild Rabbit is a pretty powerful toy. I’m a complete power queen, so if I can get off on these vibrations, it gives me a lot of hope that others will be able to too.

The constant vibration setting even has some depth to it, meaning that the vibrations are low-level rumbly. I’m a sucker for a good rumble so I absolutely love that this rabbit has achieved that. I don’t know many rabbit vibrators that provide anything better than a strong buzz, so this jumps up the list from average to one of the best I’ve tried.

It would be a shame for the power to be so right and the shape to be so wrong, but thankfully the sex gods decided to merge greatness together to make the Wild Rabbit. It has just over four and a half inches of insertable length and just under five inches of girth at the widest point which is totally manageable for me. I wouldn’t recommend this to someone who doesn’t have much sex toy experience due to the girth, but then again I wouldn’t recommend a rabbit to anyone new to vibrators. It has a sleek, streamlined clitoral arm that’s super flexible and it fits great with my body. I often encounter issues with rabbits are my opening and clitoris are close together, but the shape, flexibility and dimensions allow this rabbit to work well for me. It covers my clitoris affectively and I can feel and appreciate the vibrations as a result.

Nomi Tang Wild RabbitThe bulbous head and curve to the internal arm are glorious for g-spot stimulation. The shaft is firm enough that I can get the amount of pressure that I require without hurting myself or my cervix or needing excessive lube. The head just seems to bump and grind against my spot without much effort on my part and it can stimulate me into a satisfactory orgasm pretty easily when both motors are whirling. Combine this with the clitoral stimulation mentioned above and I’m left panting and rolling my eyes for a while after use.

Overall, I am struggling to come up with complaints. I usually have one or two, at the least, things to say about rabbits but there’s nothing particularly wrong with this one. Some might find the finger loop irritating, but I find it comfortable to hold and can see it being useful for those with grip problems. It’s luxurious to touch and use, body-safe, waterproof and not excessively loud. It’s a great fit with my anatomy and has a level of power I deem strong enough, which is truly the best of both worlds. I used to think it was too much to ask for when trying out rabbits, but Nomi Tang’s Wild Rabbit has proven to me that both power and shape can be done. It’s taken a lot of trial and error to get to this point, but I feel like I may even like this more than my beloved Happy Rabbit.
