Review: We-Vibe Ditto

When I saw that We-Vibe were branching out from couples and clitoral vibrators into rabbits and g-spot vibrators I knew that was a sign of good things to come. What I didn’t know was that they were planning to release their first butt plug. I’ve been really getting into all things anal recently so this was some of the most exciting news that I could have possibly read about. I began to envision the Ditto as a butt plug with the motor of the Touch that had the bonus of a remote control. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one and see whether that prediction was accurate. Thankfully I didn’t have to wait too long to find out as the lovely folks over at Betty’s Toy Box offered me one to review.

It arrived in a small purple and navy box (these happen to be the two colours the product is made in) with a striking product photo on the front. The back advertises a few of the Ditto’s key features and the sides list relevant product information and a brief description. Inside the box I found the Ditto and its remote resting on a foam tray and the charging cable, user manual, warning leaflet and a sachet of Pjur’s We-Vibe Lubricant underneath. There was no storage bag which was an annoyance to me as We-Vibe usually include these and considering that this is an expensive plug I would expect one.

Charging is very straight forward. The Ditto has a magnetic charger which attaches to the points located on the base of the plug and a USB which goes into any available port. I wasn’t thrilled by this at first as the Tango and Touch’s magnetic chargers are frustrating and disconnect easily but this one turned out to be the opposite. It’s a huge improvement and is actually strong enough to remain attached to the toy even with some movement. When it’s charging a blue light flashes and this goes solid once the charge is complete. It takes roughly ninety minutes for a full revamp and this is supposed to give about two hours of use.

We-Vibe’s Ditto is made from a gorgeous supple silicone that is of course odourless, latex and phthalate free, non-toxic, odourless and completely body-safe. It feels smooth and luxurious to the touch but is possibly not as polished as some of their other products. The silicone feels a bit grainier than the silicone used on their other toys – more reminiscent of Fun Factory than the cushy silicone used on the Rave or Touch. It attracts quite a lot of lint as a result so make sure to rinse thoroughly before each use and obviously afterwards with soapy water or toy cleaner. You can use a 10% bleach solution for a deeper clean if more than one person’s butt will be introduced to the Ditto.

To control this plug, there are three methods you can use. The first is by pressing and holding down the singular button on the base for a few seconds then tapping further to cycle through the vibration patterns. I tried this one first but soon realized it was next to impossible to change setting when the plug is being worn. It’s fine if a partner is there to do it for you, but this only works if they can actually see what they’re doing so is only really possible in rear entry positions. The second option is the remote control. Press the up arrow to turn it on and the down arrow to turn it off. These buttons also control the intensity of the vibrations. The side arrows flick through the various modes.

The final option is by We Connect, the We-Vibe app. It no longer stores data without your consent or knowledge, so please do not worry about this or let it put you off trying it. My partner and I found this most useful as we’re in a long-distance relationship and like it when he can take control of my pleasure even when we are not physically together. Before you can do anything else, make sure the device is turned on and activate Bluetooth on your phone or tablet. Find each other and pair up, then follow the instructions on the screen. Press the control button to find the first function and start the vibrations. You can swipe from side to side to change functions or pinch and pull on your selected setting to change the intensity. It’s pretty cool.

We-Vibe DittoI have never tried a butt plug with this sort of shape before. I’ve used those with round bases and t-bars mostly, but I don’t think I’ve ever even seen one with this L formation before. My partner amusingly told me that he thinks it looks like a surfer riding the waves. I really like this style as it feels incredibly sturdy and provides me with reassurance that it will stop the plug from travelling into the body. It is a good preventative base and I can’t see myself having any issues with it.

The plug itself is rather petite so it’s a toy we would class as an introductory plug. It has an insertable length of three inches and a maximum girth of three-point seven five inches at the widest point. I found it very comfortable to insert with a coating of Sliquid Sassy. It may have been designed with the novice anal players in mind but I see no reason why it can’t be enjoyed by all users regardless of experience. Its shape is perfect for PIV sex as it doesn’t get in the way at all and there’s no possibility of it getting lost if my partner gets too excited and pushes on it. This is something I worry about with small, rounder plugs.

We-Vibe don’t seem to know how to make mediocre vibrations and that is one of the reasons I adore them so much as a company. I’ve tried six of their products now and have been impressed with the power of each one. I’d say that the Ditto’s vibrations are a tiny bit weaker than the Touch’s but this could be due to the fact that there’s no squish at all to the Ditto’s silicone and this dampens the sensations slightly. I don’t feel that this is a bad thing though because the power is still above and beyond what I’ve encountered with other vibrating butt plugs so far. I also don’t need as much power in my butt as I do on my clitoris, so a small decrease in strength isn’t the end of the world.

We-Vibe Ditto

I decided to use it as a clitoral toy first because I wanted to get an idea for the intensity. I wasn’t expecting anything to come from it other than knowledge about the product but it cosied into my clitoral hood with ease and the base made a useful handle to grip onto.

The Ditto has a pinpoint tip that I found perfect for direct precision. I adore pin-point stimulation and as the vibrations were strong I had no problems achieving orgasm this way. I was pretty shocked that I could reach a clitoral orgasm from a butt plug as that’s not something that’s ever happened to me before, but I think the shape has everything to do with why this plug works as well as it does.

Following that experience I opted to try this as a vaginal toy too. It’s a firm plug, so I felt that I may be able to get a good amount of pressure against my g-spot if I could angled it correctly. To my surprise, I again found myself writhing around in pleasure. It has an ideal amount of firmness to hit my sweet spot and push me over the edge and the length is perfect for reaching the places I needed it to hit. I didn’t need to thrust with it at all to reach a g-spot orgasm as a simple twisting motion seemed to work beautifully. Again, the base worked as a magical handle that made manoeuvring extremely easy.

We-Vibe DittoAs a butt plug, I really have nothing to complain about at all. It’s very comfortable to wear, doesn’t get in the way of other play and is a great size for warming up to larger anal toys or having anal sex. It provides a somewhat filled sensation when being worn and it’s certainly noticeable, but it doesn’t give that stretching feeling. If that’s something that you crave or prefer in an anal toy then I don’t think this one will be the right one for you.

It can be worn in two different ways – with the magnetic points on the base facing upwards or downwards. I have tried both and like the feeling of both, but I have preferences for which I like to use in certain scenarios. For example, I prefer to have the base facing upwards during sex as I find this the most comfortable and desirable for my body when being penetrated, but the other way is better for me when using the plug alone. I change sides depending on how I plan to use it and both provide fantastic sensations although upwards is my preference at the moment. It’s great to have the option to switch things up and keep things interesting as a plug is usually a one position only sort of toy. It’s one of my favourite aspects of this plug actually.

In terms of noise, I was very impressed. It’s near whisper quiet and it’s extremely rare for me to say that. I usually despise that term as it’s hardly ever true, but this one is genuinely low on the sound. It even dissipates whilst being worn, so it makes this plug an excellent choice for people who want or need privacy and discretion for whatever reasons. I’d be happy to recommend this to someone looking for a quiet vibrating plug although they may outgrow it quickly because of the size. It is quietest when used on one of the three speeds as the patterns (of which there are seven) are up and down with their frequencies and this makes them a bit louder.

Overall, I really hope that We-Vibe bring out a medium and large version of the Ditto at some point so I can continue to test my limits but maintain this level of rumbling and strength. I love so many things about it such as the multiple methods of controlling it, the diverse functions, the unique shape and sturdy base, the gender neutral colouring and design and the fact it’s powerful, body-safe, waterproof and quiet. The only faults I can find are the lack of storage bag and the fact I may outgrow it in a years time.

Review: We-Vibe Touch

We-Vibe TouchAfter falling in love with the We-Vibe Tango, I decided that I just had to get its silicone sibling, the Touch. I was impressed with it from the outset, as the packaging has the same mature, sleek and classic style as the Tango’s. I was greeted with a purple and white box with a picture of the Touch on the front and its key features on the back. Inside the box I found the Touch, the USB charging cable, a magnetic charging cap, a full set of instructions, warranty information and a plain, satin storage bag to keep it all in.

The We-Vibe Touch is made from premium silicone, which is hypoallergenic, non-toxic and free from latex and phthalates. It’s completely seamless and feels extremely smooth to the touch. It has minimal drag to it, but it’s still recommended to use a small amount of water-based lubricant to reduce any friction. I personally have not felt the need to do so as there’s not much friction to begin with, but if you have a sensitive clitoris, it might be wise to use some. Silicone attracts a fair amount of lint so it’s important to rinse the toy prior to each use to rid it of pet hair and dust. The Touch is completely waterproof, so cleaning it under running water or submerging it is not a problem.

I wanted to try it out immediately after it arrived to see how it felt in comparison to the Tango, but unfortunately it needed a full 90 minute charge first. I inserted the small end of the charger into the magnetic cap and the USB into the charging port, before placing it on a flat surface and leaving it to do its thing. The charging cap lights up when its charging and turns off when it’s fully charged or disconnected. It also lights up when the battery begins to die, which saves the disappointment of it turning off mid-orgasm. I really don’t get along well with these magnetic chargers from We-Vibe, they disconnect extremely easily, so it’s hard to know whether the toy is actually fully charged or whether it disconnected half way through.

We-Vibe Touch

The Touch is very easy to operate as it only features one button. Tapping once will begin the vibrations and each further tap will cycle through the functions. Turning off is done by pressing and holding the button down for a few seconds. There are eight functions on this toy, four constant speeds and four patterns. I typically don’t care for patterns, but I do find myself enjoying a couple on this vibrator. The two settings that I like are named ‘Pulse‘ and ‘Cha-Cha‘. The other two are never really used.

When I turned on the Touch for the first time, I knew what to expect seeing as this toy shares the same motor and functions as the Tango, but I was still surprised by the power in that first moment. The lowest setting on the Touch feels like the medium settings on many of my vibrators, whilst the medium feels like the highest. I think this paints a good picture of what to expect power-wise, although I’m not sure anything can prepare you for the ultra-high speed. I think this is particularly intense, but none of these constant speeds are weak or buzzy.

Due to the squishy tip of the Touch, pin-point stimulation is not quite at easy as it is with the firm tip of the Tango. The tip tends to bend slightly upon the type of pressure that I require, so it’s not my go-to toy when I’m craving extremely precise and direct vibrations. I do find it fantastic for slightly broader stimulation of the clitoris and vulva though. I can orgasm with it very easily this way, despite the vibrations feeling slightly dulled in comparison to the Tango, because of the heavy-duty silicone. It only takes a matter of moments for this powerhouse to start and finish the job, maybe even with time to spare for a second round.

I believe that the Touch is quieter than the Tango due to the silicone body, so this is the one that I’d go for if I’m need of discretion, such as middle-of-the-night masturbation sessions. A closed-door is all that’s really necessary to cover the sound of the motor whirling.

We-Vibe TouchOverall, the Touch is everything that I expected it to be. It’s rumbly, powerful and incredibly sleek. I would happily recommend it to anyone, keeping people in mind who prefer broader stimulation and vibrations that aren’t super raw and aggressive, but still powerful. If you want the opposite, then the Tango would probably be better suited. I prefer the Tango just slightly, because I enjoy direct contact more, but the Touch is still wonderful and I wouldn’t want to be without it.

Review: We-Vibe Tango

I purchased my We-Vibe Tango from my favourite adult retailer Lovehoney a few months ago, it is one of my all-time favourite toys and resides next to my bed for easy access. This was the first luxury toy that I purchased, following some persuasion from Tango enthusiasts and the access to a  10% discount. I did question why I was spending £60+ on a tiny vibrator, but after doing my research into sex toys, brands and materials, I decided luxury or at least rechargeable toys would be good investments long-term.

I have been in love with the We-Vibe Tango since day one and I have re-written this review countless times trying to convey why this toy is so brilliant. I really wanted to do this toy justice by knowing everything I could about it. If I had to sum it up in one word, I’d choose fantastic.

We-Vibe TangoI love neat, clean packaging and that’s exactly what We-Vibe provide. I was really impressed from the outset as the packaging tells you that you’re receiving something of quality. The Tango arrives in a pink and white classy box with a picture of the toy on the front and all the key features on the back. As you can see below, I ordered the pink version, but there’s also a delightful blue version available from other retailers.

Inside the box, I discovered the Tango resting within some foam and underneath this foam layer of protection, lay the USB charging cable, magnetic charging cap, a full set of instructions, a card explaining the registration process and a lovely satin storage bag to keep everything in. Registering a We-Vibe product is extremely straight forward. You simply press here, fill out the required information including serial number and date of purchase then you’re all set. It couldn’t be simpler!

Insert the small end of the charger into the magnetic charging cap and the USB into your chosen charging point, before joining the base of the Tango directly onto the magnets of the charging cap. A full charge takes around 90 minutes, which gives roughly 2 hours of play time if used on lower settings. If used on full speed, then it lasts for just over an hour. The charging cap lights up whilst the toy is charging and will turn off once the toy is fully charged or if it’s been disconnected, so make sure to check on it every once in a while to determine which of the two it is. It’s important to also keep the Tango on a flat surface as it separates from the cap easily otherwise. The light on the base of the Tango will also flash once your Tango is running low on charge, so there’s no disappointment of it dying halfway through a play session.

We-Vibe TangoThe Tango is controlled by a single button on the base, making it extremely straight forward to operate. Tap once to begin the vibrations, tap again to cycle through and press and hold to turn off. This toy has a memory function too, so your last-used setting will be the one that starts whenever you turn on the toy. I love this feature on toys as I tend to stick to the same couple of functions.

The Tango has eight functions, 4 constant speeds and 4  patterns. I don’t care much for patterns usually, but two out of the four are interesting to me. I’ve only liked the patterns on one other toy before, and that would be those of the Happy Rabbit 2.

I was surprised by the first speed, I thought that I had turned it up accidentally, but I hadn’t. I find it to be fairly rumbly with some pretty good strength behind it. I usually neglect the first speed on toys as they tend to feel more of a tickle than a vibration, but the Tango is strong enough for me to use to prolong an orgasm or provide a gentle warm-up to higher settings. This is the perfect setting to use during sex with my partner, as it provides that extra bit of stimulation to my clitoris without being a complete game changer and bringing me to an orgasm before my partner has finished. The medium setting feels like the highest setting on some of my other vibrators, so you can only imagine the high and ultra-high settings. Pretty intense, but that’s the way I like it.

We-Vibe TangoThe patterns that I like are named ‘Pulse’ and ‘Cha-Cha’. I find the Pulse to be super rumbly. I dislike the patterns ‘Wave’ and ‘Tease’ as these are stop and start vibrations that I avoid at all costs, no matter how strong those quick pulsations are. They take me further away from orgasm rather than closer to it, so I choose to ignore them. If you like these types of vibrations, then you might get along with them, but they’re not my cup of tea.

During couples play, I find that this toy is petite enough to hold between us during sex, it doesn’t get in the way like a wand does and my partner is not intimidated by it at all. He wasn’t overly excited until I turned it on, but he soon stopped talking and began moaning when I held it against his balls. Combine the third constant speed with a blowjob and it’s a sure-fire way to bring him to orgasm within minutes. I worry that he might take this back to Uni with him and use it for himself!

We-Vibe TangoFor solo use, this toy provides excellent pin point stimulation due to the angled tip. I’m yet to find another that can circulate my clitoral hood and stimulate it in the way this toy does. I love to use the higher speed settings directly against my clitoris, as this is just guarantees a speedy orgasm.

I find the constant speeds to be fairly quiet considering the power, it’s nothing that some background music couldn’t disguise. It only really makes obvious noise if it’s left on whilst on a flat surface. I still live at home and have no issues using this discreetly. I don’t use the patterns with others home though as I find they are a little louder.

I was told this was the most powerful bullet vibrator out there, so I expected a whole new level of power, and that’s exactly what I got. It has everything that I could ask for, minus a travel lock. It’s fully waterproof with four intense speeds, a couple of notable patterns, amazing pin point precision and fairly quiet. It’s an unbeatable bullet so far and I think it would take something extraordinary to knock this off my top spot.
