After falling in love with the We-Vibe Tango, I decided that I just had to get its silicone sibling, the Touch. I was impressed with it from the outset, as the packaging has the same mature, sleek and classic style as the Tango’s. I was greeted with a purple and white box with a picture of the Touch on the front and its key features on the back. Inside the box I found the Touch, the USB charging cable, a magnetic charging cap, a full set of instructions, warranty information and a plain, satin storage bag to keep it all in.
The We-Vibe Touch is made from premium silicone, which is hypoallergenic, non-toxic and free from latex and phthalates. It’s completely seamless and feels extremely smooth to the touch. It has minimal drag to it, but it’s still recommended to use a small amount of water-based lubricant to reduce any friction. I personally have not felt the need to do so as there’s not much friction to begin with, but if you have a sensitive clitoris, it might be wise to use some. Silicone attracts a fair amount of lint so it’s important to rinse the toy prior to each use to rid it of pet hair and dust. The Touch is completely waterproof, so cleaning it under running water or submerging it is not a problem.
I wanted to try it out immediately after it arrived to see how it felt in comparison to the Tango, but unfortunately it needed a full 90 minute charge first. I inserted the small end of the charger into the magnetic cap and the USB into the charging port, before placing it on a flat surface and leaving it to do its thing. The charging cap lights up when its charging and turns off when it’s fully charged or disconnected. It also lights up when the battery begins to die, which saves the disappointment of it turning off mid-orgasm. I really don’t get along well with these magnetic chargers from We-Vibe, they disconnect extremely easily, so it’s hard to know whether the toy is actually fully charged or whether it disconnected half way through.
The Touch is very easy to operate as it only features one button. Tapping once will begin the vibrations and each further tap will cycle through the functions. Turning off is done by pressing and holding the button down for a few seconds. There are eight functions on this toy, four constant speeds and four patterns. I typically don’t care for patterns, but I do find myself enjoying a couple on this vibrator. The two settings that I like are named ‘Pulse‘ and ‘Cha-Cha‘. The other two are never really used.
When I turned on the Touch for the first time, I knew what to expect seeing as this toy shares the same motor and functions as the Tango, but I was still surprised by the power in that first moment. The lowest setting on the Touch feels like the medium settings on many of my vibrators, whilst the medium feels like the highest. I think this paints a good picture of what to expect power-wise, although I’m not sure anything can prepare you for the ultra-high speed. I think this is particularly intense, but none of these constant speeds are weak or buzzy.
Due to the squishy tip of the Touch, pin-point stimulation is not quite at easy as it is with the firm tip of the Tango. The tip tends to bend slightly upon the type of pressure that I require, so it’s not my go-to toy when I’m craving extremely precise and direct vibrations. I do find it fantastic for slightly broader stimulation of the clitoris and vulva though. I can orgasm with it very easily this way, despite the vibrations feeling slightly dulled in comparison to the Tango, because of the heavy-duty silicone. It only takes a matter of moments for this powerhouse to start and finish the job, maybe even with time to spare for a second round.
I believe that the Touch is quieter than the Tango due to the silicone body, so this is the one that I’d go for if I’m need of discretion, such as middle-of-the-night masturbation sessions. A closed-door is all that’s really necessary to cover the sound of the motor whirling.
Overall, the Touch is everything that I expected it to be. It’s rumbly, powerful and incredibly sleek. I would happily recommend it to anyone, keeping people in mind who prefer broader stimulation and vibrations that aren’t super raw and aggressive, but still powerful. If you want the opposite, then the Tango would probably be better suited. I prefer the Tango just slightly, because I enjoy direct contact more, but the Touch is still wonderful and I wouldn’t want to be without it.
